im at ep 6. im dying to know if the 2023 Soon Ae knew that her novel was stolen and published by Go Mi Sook? Because…
If I were to guess… She probably found out eventually even when they were younger. She also probably realized that it was her daughter’s favorite novel and knowing was probably enough for her. Back then (1987), no one would have dared to encourage her to defend her rights over the book since GMK came from a rich family. Just the same, in 2021 she would not want to cause any trouble for her daughter (who she knows is daring and headstrong) by telling the truth. That’s what I think.
It’s on the Viu app if you’re in Asia. It’s a Viu Original so it airs the latest episode on the same day. Here in the PHL new episode drops as 10:15 PM.
I also thought the same thing??? Like is the grandma the motive behind the murders or what? I am literally going…
Probably not the motive but a root cause. Serial killers often had traumatic pasts, such as being severely abused by persons who should be giving them love. In this case, Yoon Yeon Woo's mom could have been a "woman who reads books" who became a danger to him. Oftentimes, the trauma inflicted by serial killers to their victims could be different from the one s/he experienced, but something from his own past is incorporated into her/his signature or in the way s/he choses victims. In this case, "women who read books" become the target, and tying their hands up with a red rope (which could also be related to YYW's mom) is the signature.
Anyone else remember 2021 Go Min Sook having a male assistant? I’m starting to think that he is also a classmate we didn’t notice in 1987. He might be the culprit.
I have a doubt if it is the homeroom teacher why would he actually kill them like for what and that note in the…
It's just a guess. We would know the "why" behind the serial murders once the culprit is revealed. But for now, I'd pick this side character only because he is a military man, who usually are considered old-fashioned when it comes to gender roles in society, even more so given it's the 1980s in Korea.
But one can contend that he is a teacher, he is kind and he looks harmless. I've watched enough crime dramas and documentaries to know that many serial killers, if not all, looked normal, kind and harmless when not doing their killing sprees. Anyway, I'm not an expert but my guess is somewhat based on some kind of reasoning.
I'd be happy if I guessed it right. But I also want to be surprised. Haha. Let's watch it till the end to find out!
If only they had CCTV cameras back then, they would have had better chance of catching the culprit through the hospital cameras. Anyway, I still think it’s the girls’ homeroom teacher who killed those three people.
I am having difficulty watching this drama, tbh. I mean, if they want to focus on the family dynamics, do so! If they want to focus on the spy thriller aspect, then do so! Mixing them together is not something I find attractive. But I'm still willing to give this a chance. I'm still in the middle of the Episode 5, anyway.
Can someone explain to me like I'm 5 how the scam Ring Go was involved in works? I get the gang was voice phishing…
Bear with me here but I hope my explanation helps.
Voice Phishing Scammers - handles the calls and account information Ring Go - handles the fake accounts where the scammed money is sent, which he is supposed to send as cash to the VPS Teenagers - Got a hold of Ring Go's phone which contains whatever is needed to turn the money into cash Voice Phishing Scammers - thought Ring Go was just making excuses about the teenagers stealing his phone and assumed that he has pocketed the scammed money Ring Go - is asked to pay back but since he doesn't have the money, unless he finds the teenagers and gets every penny back, he'll always be on the run from the Voice Phishing Scammers
Problem: Ring Go can't get hold of the teenagers without getting his life in danger.
Solution: Moo Young scamming Ro Um into scamming the Voice Phishing Scammers and actually sending back the scammed money to the original owners.
IT WAS ACTUALLY FUNNY WHEN RO UM REALIZED THAT SHE WAS SCAMMED BY MOO YOUNG. HAHAHAHA!!!
When Moo Young said that he would join Ro Um's team, I realized that I did not have a clear understanding of the drama's description above. HAHAHA. I actually thought that Moo Young would go against Ro Um's actions until the end.
Anyway, I am really enjoying this drama. Reminds me a lot of Taxi Driver, without the taxi. Also of Sherlock, without the scamming.
On the chemistry between ML and FL: I would have to agree that even during that confession scene, the sparks weren't flying in the way many of the viewers would expect. However, given the circumstances of both the leads, I don't think it's proper to put sexual tension between them at any point thus far in the drama, not until the mystery has been solved. BUT... The way their relationship progressed from two people who met coincidentally (Whoops! There's the literal translation of the Korean title 'I Met You By Chance'), to "teacher" and "student" while being partners in crime solving, to acquaintances who get curious about each other's thoughts, to friends who get concerned enough to find ways to console each other... And the way they look forward to spending more time together in the future. It would be tragic and heartbreaking if one of them fails to exist in the future OR if they become strangers to each other in the future... (Dang! There's the English title!)
Hae Joon should’ve known better not to touch the body and get Bum Ryeong’s blood on his hand. But then, there…
The killer chooses women as victim, but any man who gets in the way to spare the life of the woman he plotted to kill dies a similar way as well. This might mean that in the future, HJ must’ve tried to save a supposed to be victim’s life as well, seeing how he and BR have the same position when they died.
The killer must have had a traumatic experience caused by his mom who likes to read books.
Hae Joon should’ve known better not to touch the body and get Bum Ryeong’s blood on his hand. But then, there would be no thrill, so I’ll let it slip. I used to think that Ko Mi Sook was the killer but now we have been given the evidence that she is not, and even found out why she had to frame her brother. If I had to guess who the killer is, I’d pick the girls’ homeroom teacher, the guy who likes Hae Kyung’s mom. Or one of the side character policemen.
