Same for me...
Greek and Roman mythologies were also two of my favorite subjects; hence, my profound affinity for Xianxia and Wuxia storylines.

Hey, it has been a while.

Around the 770 pages in volume 2. Work has been a little hectic around this time of the year. Not much time for reading.

Wow!!!
That was beautiful.
I have not seen fight choreography sequences like these in Korean films since Six Flying Dragons.
The storyline was clear enough for the limited timeframe and Jang Hyuk, as always, was fantastic.

This was the Joseon version of the film series, Taken.
“Be very careful of whom you mess with”

The English version:
“I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you're looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that will be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you.”

I understand your frustration; however, you could see this Xianxia produced tv adaptation as a slow and light…
Everything you wrote is unfortunately very true.

Regrettably, what makes the world go around is not the rotational inertia but profits and fame.

We can only hope that as long as there is a demand for BL productions; there will always be a group of writers, producers, directors and genuine actors/actresses who will go against the status quo...
Not because of profits and fame but because of the artistry itself.

I don’t really know on what kind of explanation they might have came up for that scene...
But I REALLY hope... that explanation is somehow closed to the novel’s storyline.

Indeed,
“Teacher for one day, father for a lifetime.”

Their romantic relationship does not bother me whatsoever, however, when the emotions were not understood or reciprocated in MR’s lifetime as an emperor... that was when it was a bit controversial for me.

Yes, taking siblings as mates was the norm in many ancient societies such as, the ancient Egyptian royalties and Pharos. However, it was frowned upon in the ancient Roman society; mostly because of the systematic degradation of the closed-off gene pool.

Oh no.
We both we were joking on how that specific scene might appear to people who haven’t read the full novel.

Yeah they probably did used up a lot of their energy during the "fight" so it's understandable for Chu Wanning…
Exactly;)...

As unforgiving that it might sound...
His sister.

As a male disciple... being in love with your master and as a brother... being in love with your sister are both social taboos.

The phycological damages of those actions, either historical or fictional, have to be tremendous and irreversible.

I understand your frustration; however, you could see this Xianxia produced tv adaptation as a slow and light re-introduction from a BL novel.
A few years back, they shamelessly and categorically stopped the airing of Addicted. With the released success of The Untamed and Guardian, the Chinese film entertainment industry is willing to air this watered-down tv adaptation of Immortality...

You never know, maybe in a couple more years, they might be willing to produce and to release a full pledged Chinese BL tv adaptation...

I have always been a dreamer:)

Maybe Mo Ran just passed out on Wanning’s shoulder...
That could have happened; they both use a lot of their energy cores to fight.
Hahaha...

Oh, he felt!
Maybe, he even felt too deeply... to excessively...
He just was unaware about his real feelings and also, what exactly those feelings were...
His first lifetime as TXJ was completely misguided.

I am reading volume 2 now; I am apprehensive about MR’s future. I know that TXJ’s past-lifetime and all of his vicious misdeeds will eventually catch up with MR.
MR might be thick-skin but when it comes to the people he loves; he is very cautious around them.
He is also afraid how they might perceive him.

His #1 fear is abandonment. Whatever lifetime he is in; he is terrified of being abandoned.

This novel makes me ponder about Caligula (aka, Little Boot)...
Was he also misguided during that crazed-ancient Roman lifetime of his?
If giving a second chance like Mo Ran here, would he have reformed himself, as well?
I am just pondering...

Great videos and pictures.
Please, do keep them coming.
Thanks:)

Fyi:
I just reached chapter 117 from part 2, last night...
Our reformed dumb mutt (aka - I can’t stay mad at him for too long, even if I wanted to) is making me go through all sorts of complexed emotions
:(

;(
;)

It is going to be a treasure to see how Arthur Chen is able to channel that complexed character on cameras. If he is able to convey those intricate emotions; then, I will have nothing more to say about that kid.
I will surname him AC 2.0 from then on...

I started to pay close attention to those, way back.

Hey, but thanks for the concerns. This is really nice of you:)
