I am not really a fan of the ancient Chinese central plains’ costumes or their fashion in general. And I am even less of a fan of doom-romance tragedy.
So I don’t know if I will even start this drama...
After reading the synopsis of this drama on WeTV, there might be a happy ending based on what happens
If there is a happy ending there... Then this historical drama has not followed the historical facts on Xiao Chuo’s life story. She became the sitting Empress then later to become the Empress Dowager Chengtian.
There should be no happy ending between her and Han De Rang.
Les Fleurs du Mal par Charles Baudelaire... What a great piece of French classic!
Mid-way impressions: - That wife of his, forcefully pursued him to no end; which was not attractive at all (She showed no decorum whatsoever...). And now, that her made-up fantasy life shows some cracks; she is acting as the innocent victim by playing cruel games on him. - Crazy thoughts, why not simply be straightforward and ask your husband about his past and the real truth??? - I am sure there will be some kind of epiphany moment for her at some points down the line; however, I don’t like that wife’s character from the very beginning. - I also don’t really like the male lead character. I was expecting a strong and decisive male character but he is rather weak, rather unintelligent and he is easily manipulated by others (Examples - his dead father and his older sister).
*Definitely not the Dexter’s character that I was expecting...
I am curious since it's by the same director, and he does well in directing romantic scenes! However, I'm not…
We don’t know that Xuxu is not as good as Cheng Yi. Just as Cheng Yi had the fortuitous opportunity to show his full acting potentials with a great project like, Love and Redemption. Xuxu also needs that same fortuitous opportunity...
I am not a fan of side-story-cdrama-fluffy-fillers (DEFINITELY NOT); however, I have to admit the ones that Xuxu had been a part of, with the exception of Dance of the Sky Empire... were pretty darned good.
Don’t let his good looks and his gorgeous stature fool you. Xuxu definitely has potentials.
I find that Xuxu’s acting skills and stage presence are improving by leaps and bounds... Xuxu is really natural; there is nothing forceful about his on-screen deliveries.

CGI looks quite good) but I don't feel chemistry or sparkling between the main leads... may be because I'm not…
Really??? Xuxu looks so good at playing characters in Xianxia storylines. With his gorgeous stature, Xuxu looks so good with flowing hair and in whimsical period costumes...
I didn’t really like his character inThe Legends but damn... He looked yummy... Same goes for Once Upon A Time In Lingjian Mountain. Fyi: Xuxu better comes back in the scheduled second season.
I don’t know about the FL but they already half of my attention for Ancient Love Poetry. Just because of Xuxu..,

You like what or whom you like!
It is the freedom of liking.
But my heart still hurts:(
You are the first person whom I talk to; who does not like Xuxu...
My heart hurts:(
There were few but I actually believed his emotions.
Good things do happen!!!

Just because of Xuxu..,
I only sticked it around for the ML and just for the ML.
The FL character annoyed the hell out me.
I feel like calling Xuanji for a girls night-out... to bitch about Si Feng...

Stay strong my fellow “Great Dramas’ addict”
I am sure Netflix Malaysia will jump on the L&R bandwagon soon enough....
Aside, my daily check on this discussion thread; I have not watched it a second time.
I am waiting on Viki to license it so I can enjoy it on a big screen;)
That was a good kiss.
Not the stereotypical lips-squeezing, let-me-check-your-upper-lip or let’s-play-with-the-angles kisses...
Lol
I think she got hurt just once or twice...
At the competition when they were 16 years old and later, when they met in their 20s.
She got it so easy compared to Si Feng:(
