Yes. You got all the social issues and the silver-lining clues just right. There were more to this storyline that…
Every single second of those 59 episodes were worth it.
Now, I am catching myself comparing every lead male character to Si Feng.
I am like “No, you’re not good enough” Every boyfriend, fiancé, husband or male partner in this world is going to have an extremely hard time after Si Feng. Hahaha...
I cant help watching this slower and also I am afraid because don't know what to do with my life after finish…
Oh... Be prepared. You will have withdrawal syndromes big time:(
I think because this year has a tremendous lack of great dramas like L&R... Which makes it way harder to move on. Check out: - Cross Fire * One of the three best this year.
I watched AOL when it was airing and liked it a lot. If I have to find fault, it would be the lack of screen time…
What I loved about her crying scenes; they were not over the top or had to match the sad playing OST.
They were natural, simple and relatable. Sometimes, one does not need to show an extravagant display of emotions in order to fully connect with the audience.

It is really a matter of preference. I was never, never, never a fan of Crystal Yuan but I have to say that she completely outshined YZ in Love and Redemption. Same goes for Cheng Yi. To me, he completely outshined Allen Deng in LAR. The Phoenix’s character could have been easily portrayed by any good actor out there. However, I really can’t picture anyone else portraying Si Feng but Cheng Yi.
Although they have many similarities, they are very different. Love story in AoL is rather sudden. IMO, the touching…
Strange thing... I never liked that distinctive dubbing voice on Dilraba; however, I truly loved it on Crystal.
I think that has to do with the context and also the character, themselves. Some characters and their dubbing voices just do not match. Unfortunately, it seems there is a lack of standard Mandarin dubbed actors and actresses in China.
With 70 episodes, I think there might be more flashbacks of Xi Xuan and GOW’s relationship in the heavenly realm.…
Oh that is why I like Xianxia dramas better than Wuxia dramas. Their kissing scenes and their romance scenes are so much more better and so much more realistic.

I am so impressed that Crystal Yuan was able to portray that character so beautifully. The evolution of nuances in her character was so well acted and well directed. - From a childlike innocent teenager girl - To a more juvenile adolescent girl - To a young female with insecurities - To a mature and accomplished female lead who still retains that beautiful tenderness from her earlier years.
For the past few years now, her acting has been described as frigid, lifeless and unmemorable. Well, Crystal Yuan has improved beyond imagination.
Did I miss something?
Mine is telling me that Si Feng’s nonsense is turning me into a mean deity.
If a drama can change my complete indifference toward an actress, such as Crystal Yuan...
That is worthy of a blatant 10.0 rating for me.
After I completed the drama, I asked mine “How many time have you died for me in your past lives?”
“The Si Feng’s After Effects” is strong in my household right now.
I call it “The Si Feng’s After Effects”
It is going to be Hell for all men, fictional and non-fictional.
Hahaha...
I’ll let you know if I find anything as good as L&R.
As of now, my list for this year remains unchanged:
- Joy of Life
- Cross Fire
- Love and Redemption

The Chinese imagination has literally no boundaries.
The vastness of it is a gift to the rest of the world.
Could have been easily changed from a Wuxia drama into a Xianxia drama.
You got all the social issues and the silver-lining clues just right.

Maybe they both were going through their tribulations as well...

“You take one more step and I will kill you”
Good grief, there was venom coming out of her glare...

That voice was juvenile but not irritating as for most female leads’ dubbing voices.
