But the female assassin in My Journey to You is sort of an spy of the lowest level, which justifies she being…
No. I was not laughing at her abilities or the lack of… The actress herself was not convincing at all, in her portrayal as an assassin. It was like watching kids playing dress up.
Ok. I am buying. I am totally buying. I believe her as an assassin. I am totally convinced by her assassin portrayal in this. And this is how you grasp your viewers’ complete attention with the very first episode.
PS: I am still laughing at this FL assassin character in “My Journey to You.” She should take lessons from the FL character Ren Ru Yi / Ren Xin, here.
The way they had the writing for the ML… Courteous, meticulous, cautious, stoic and with a great strategic mind… It is very out of character; the way he acts around the FL. He completely loses his sense of reasoning around that girl. Borderline delusional and erratic. I find it more confusing and less convincing than interesting. It is so out of character. I don’t care how they spin it for us… Note: I am not talking about his PTSD relapses. Those are somehow understandable. But the rest is very bizarre.
I agree. The writing and the montage were not great. I think the writers and screenwriters are a bit confused……
Seriously… The problem with this costume drama is that the sharp 360 degrees turn romance between the 2 main leads started too abruptly and goodness…! Way, way, way, way too late.
Ep 34. Oof, I didn't like the writing decisions they made with this one. Like no, don't ruin the female lead (and…
I agree. The writing and the montage were not great. I think the writers and screenwriters are a bit confused… No, a lot confused when us, viewers, are saying that we like main characters with multiple layers. Let me try to make it clear for them: We do not mean… Multiple layers of pure confusion.
The finale was so darned rushed… Almost felt like the last 2 episodes were on drugs or something… The ever so recurring problem in most costume dramas… If not in all.
For me, this was a 7.5/10 rating. Interesting storyline. Questionable montage. Confusing ML. Ambiguous FL. Main leads’ romance not convincing at all (Probably because the writers and screenwriters took their sweet time to start it). Favorite characters: Yan Lin and his father.
Nirvana in Fire 3 is scheduled to be released next year… Hopefully… And Leo Wu is the first male lead. I don’t know about his character yet; however, NIF and Leo back together got to be magical… Riveting… And ever so nostalgic… Another masterpiece from that splendid production team!!
His name is Leo Wu.I just love Zhao Lu Si’s acting in this Xianxia. Obviously, there is a wide gap of experience…
Oh right… The pathetic wannabe love rival character… The actor who played that character is also in this Xianxia. My brain completely dismissed him, entirely. At least in this one, in opposite to the general’s overwhelming persona in “Love Like a Galaxy,” his character certainly has a shot with the FL when compared to this heavenly silver spoon immature ML.
Lusi is killing it, she's stunning as usual but it's only her and that guy from love like the galaxy. The others…

love this drama Zhao lusi is killing it she was made for this role ml is ok and sml is made for his role he suits…
Zhao Lu Si is slaying it. I don’t know how many times I rewatch the scene where she is literally screaming… “Focus on your cultivation.” Her body… Her face… Her eyes… Her entire expression… Priceless! Simply priceless!
Did I already say that I love the FL. I love this FL.
My… My…! Zhao Lu Si has come a long way from her early casting of Chun Hua in “Love Better Than Immortality (2019)…” Annoyingly and repeatedly saying, “Xiao dàgē“ over and over and over again. Now, she can literally hold an entire production on her own. It is nice to have a ML… It is nice to have main couple… However, I would not miss him if he was not in the storyline.
The contrast is interesting how this show is loved in China and Internationally people hating on it for the most…
The storyline is interesting. Right now, the ML is downright useless but hopefully he will show some tremendous character growth soon… And I mean very soon… On the other hand, the FL is fantastic. She is holding the beginning of this entire Xianxia series without being annoying, rude, obnoxious, arrogant nor manipulative. I know that there would be some growth of character down the line with the ML; however, right now… I am fully invested in the FL.
Well… This might be the worst movie that I have watched from both Jung Woo Sung and Kim Nam Gil. And I thought “Steel Rain 2: Summit” was the worst from Jung Woo Sung.
The montage was so lame. What a waste of a great cast.
The actress herself was not convincing at all, in her portrayal as an assassin.
It was like watching kids playing dress up.
Same here.
Dropped it.
The constant female assassins tête-à-tête was borderline irritating to me.
I am buying.

Exactly my thoughts.
PS: One more high-rated costume drama this year that I can't comprehend for the life of me.
How is that an 8.8 rating?

Can’t hardly wait.

I am really proud of Zhao Lu Si.

She said “Why is he farting in someone else’s house? It stinks…”
Well said.
I love her character.

Oh well!
Leo is indeed known to be a nice and down earth person.
Hope he is actually that way… Not just for the lenses…
I would like to see that.
