The use of CGI to portray the war and fight scenes is so off putting. It looks like a cartoon...should have used…
They totally over-did it in the drawings department. They had a good idea but somehow, somewhere along the way... They went crazy with it. There are basically no CGI. They used animations/drawings, as an homage to the Manhua genre and also it is cost effective. They should have mix it, by keeping some of that Manhua artistic styles with some needed live-action scenes. They did exactly that in the 300 movies series. It was perfectly and seamlessly executed.
Didn't like ep 11 & 12 with the silly flooding and animation but seems like ep 14 is very sad from what others…
The animations or simply the drawings take away some of the dynamics from the scenes. I really don’t mind the inclusion in some of the scenes but I really do want to see the intense scenes with actual live-actions.
Its not about saving money using drawings but its a style of shooting a comic or manhua based motion picture or…
Well... On behalf of everyone in this section, thank you for the well observed clarification; however, it has already been covered in the many many many comments above.
This is what I call good writing. I do not have to agree with every points in your review; however, I utterly enjoyed reading them. The satires, the metaphors, the comparisons and the parodies are exactly what excellent writing is about. If the choice of words, used, are able to convey images that makes one laugh out-loud without even watching one second of the drama... My immediate reaction toward the writer behind this writing is BRAVO.
Am I the only one who thinks that both Bai Jing Ting and Cheng Yi look so much alike? I got slightly confused at the beginning of this drama. Because I thought the ML was Cheng Yi and I was asking myself... He looks so much taller than usual. LOL (Brain-fart)
I really don't mind the drawings if the money saved is put to good use on something else. I would rather have…
Tencent definitely did not skim on the extra-large cast, for sure. There are more characters in this drama than my brain can keep up to remember. And we are only 12 episodes in...
Just as you said; It is becoming a running joke throughout the drama...
“Here come the drawings.”
Bottoms up!
He is literally like a waste of a good looking face.

She is actually representing her tribal ethnic roots.
I was wondering why they have his hair brown.
Good to know. Thanks.

You still look hot.
Mr. “I Know I Look Hot”
LOL

Well, Vengo being a diva and a primadona... Is a better joke.
But still, I keep on persistently checking in for new ones.
LOL

It is uncanny how much they look alike... like brothers.
I thought that I was the only one who sees their likeness:)

That was my deduction on the fair amount of drawings used.
I am rather disappointed not able to see the war fighting sequences.
Let’s leave it at that... They are targeting the younger demographic groups.
Idk yet.
