I was really excited for this drama when I first heard about it but I have seen the main girl act on some variety…
I am so with you. Her character’s depiction in Twin Flower Legend was soooooooooo forgettable and bland. I am skeptical about her portraying Xiao Long Nu.
I am praying to every God out-there for this adaptation to be better than the last Romance of the Condor Heroes (2014). Seriously, that so-called “Romance” adaptation of the Condor Heroes trilogy was literally atrocious. Thomas Tong, fighting!
Wow... They really destroyed and butchered the enchanting legacy of the Condor Heroes’ storylines with this next generation’s adaptation. It is not just a few things that are wrong with this adaptation; it is everything. The overall acting of the 2 main leads, the unsavory presentation of all of the characters, the directing and finally the atrocious writing are just awful. The only things that got my vote are the choreographed fighting sequences.
*Whomever writer who is behind this adaptation should never write, again! Because I just can not comprehend that it is the same writer behind Female Prime Minister and Memory Lost. I am smelling the presence of a “Ghost Writer...”
I barely tolerated mischievous little Leo Wu; however, 47 or so episodes of infantile, childish, immature, juvenile and flirtatious Chen Xiao... Wow, that might be too much for me to handle; I am not sure if I can do it. I thought after Yang Guo spent 4 years of training with his young shifu (aka, naive little school girl with martial art skills); he would be somehow more matured by then; instead, I am getting more and more irritated by his character’s disposition with each passing episode (As the say goes... Like father, like son). Also there are many things that bug me in this drama but the major one for me is Yang Guo’s wardrobe. The dude looks like a destitute beggar.
*I was excited to watch this adaptation of an old school classic... The next generation of the Condor Heroes with the son of Yang Kang, Yang Guo portrayed by Chen Xiao... But this might just be a drop for me.
For a moment there, I thought our “Resident I$$$T” with a Jesus complex, actually died falling down off the cliff... Then I remembered; this is DramaLand... Nobody never dies falling off a cliff. With gun powder and explosives... Maybe.
*The first 15 or so episodes were a delight to watch; which were much better than the Swordsman (2013) with Wallace Huo... Then it became a real chore to watch. In the second half of the drama, the Linghu Chong character portrayed by Ding Guan Sen had barely any screen-times and when he managed to have some rare ones; he was just a naive and gullible little alcoholic character with some martial art skills which they had barely let us witnessed.
Exactly like The Ultimate Note, The Journey Across the Night also needs a second season. Bad-boy/Emo Li Jia was so hot. It reminded me of Kill Me, Heal Me with Ji Sung. As a computer-wizard, he should have taken revenge on that sociopath/scumbag of a doctor by destroying him, from the inside-out. I am pretty sure; there must be plenty of evidences in that computer that could completely destroy his reputation, as a doctor in the psychiatric field. Destroying his office and attacking him on the streets is not revenge but just vandalism and bodily harm. In conclusion, Li Jia is suffering from DID (Dissociative identity disorder). It seems that he was kidnapped as a kid. Worst than watching his sick mother loosing her grip on reality; I think he might have been sexually assaulted and physically abused...
*We most definitely need a second season. Joseph Zeng portrayed these dual characters to perfection.
This FL’s acting is rather confusing. Sometimes, her acting is very natural and other times, her acting is very cartoonish and overdone. Li Jia’s doctor/professor is a sociopath. He is actually the catalyst for Li Jia’s yet to confirm exact mental disorder. That sociopath doctor is not helping him but triggering him with anything that might induce abnormal mental impulses in Li Jia. And that sociopath seems to enjoy watching people going through misery... He is a trigger-inducer. Don’t doctors have to take and to pass a psychiatric evaluation, every so often, in order to keep their medical license?
On a side note: Li Jia will make a remarkable psychiatrist. His genuine empathy and curiosity for his surroundings are innate skills doctors are sought-after.
Maybe when Li Hong Yi signed with that company, one of the conditions was... That he has to be in a project with that actress. This has nothing to do with one being shallow; in terms of esthetics, couple synergy and public relations... These 2 do not match. Well, I hope she has good acting skills since I am not familiar with her. To Li Hong Yi, COURAGE!
As usual... No answers, more questions, more secrets and that uncontrollable inner rage to scream at the tv screen... What the f$$$!
Once the rage has dissipated... Although this babyish, lack of skills, emotional, unreliable, completely not self-efficient but only book-smart Wu Xie was not my most favorite version... The production of this installment, on the other hand, was great. One of the best. Like they did for the Reunion series, this one also needs a second part. - Everyone is actually missing. - Wu Xie needs more and better sets of skills. - I can not put my finger on it but I am having a hard time trusting Xie Yu Chen. Maybe because his skill sets are too impressive.
I remember before, WuXie keep saying that he wants to protect the artifacts, but everytime they leave a tomb.....…
Whatever how much interesting and entertaining those storylines are... I often think that the author of those stories has always being high on acids. There are so many loopholes and inconsistencies between the books’ releases and the televised pictures... It is hard to keep up. *My personal game for The Lost Tomd series, spin-offs and parent stories is... Hmmmmm... Whenever a new one is released; I am always waiting for that oh-so important secret that never make any sense and the next destructions.
Still not chill out... I see... You are not worth the heart attack.

Joseph Zeng has those adorable big black eyes like a kitty or a puppy. I can picture him showing those adorable puppy eyes after he had done some mischievous things...
Once again, you are a very pre-judgmental character. If you want to add some more colorful details to the Christianity religion and folklores... Go right ahead! I am not a narrow-minded person nor a bigot... I can totally differentiate a joke from a non-fictional comparison.
“Disrespect” by comparing a fictional character to a mythological creature? You really need to chill out! My only apology was that I inserted myself into your conversation; I was thinking naming our favorite Qi Ling’s portrayal would be fun... In retrospect, I should be more aware of small minded people.

I have not watched anything from Li Hong Yi since Love Better Than Immortality.
And he is so good with these genres.

Huang Jun Jie.
I swear if we cut that actor, he will bleed fire... just like a mythological Qilin.
