The FL had a crush on SML at first, but then her feelings faded then she started to love ML. But SML started to like her and is trying to pursue her. The FL hasnāt made it clear yet that she doesnāt like him anymore but she has shown subtle hints.
The ML, on the other hand, was already in a relationship with the SFL (tho he never really loved her), but due to the love potion (with a force from their fate as each otherās DESTINY), he started falling for the FL. He already asked for a breakup with SFL but SFL is toxic and manipulative and doesnāt want to let him go.
Itās darker than just love triangle/square whatever you wanna call it tho because itās related to their past lives.
I donāt think this drama is problematic, it just a story of people who are thrown in unreal situations ..hoping…
Yes of course! Iām really enjoying it so far. Like I said in one of my comments here, this drama is āa modern Kdrama with a touch of older Kdramasā.

āā¦when Kdramas started being more westernized and everything perfect that itās missing the soul.ā
You have put my thoughts into words! šÆ
I also think Kdrama is losing its essence since few years ago. Most of modern Kdramas only give me some kind of āemptyā feelings, and theyāve become rather⦠forgettable. Itās hard to find the ones that really stand out from the rest nowadays.
Thatās also one of the reasons Iāve been stuck in a Kdrama slump and moved to mainly Chinese/Thai dramas which feel more close to me now, make me feel like home.

The writer/director can choose how to deliver the storylines. I am personally okay with their scriptwriting and directing.
I donāt even view the ML as a cheater. I also donāt think the FL is annoying or weak. Iām not biased on my views because Iām not a fan of both leads. So Iām fine.
Maybe this is also one of the perks of watching not only Korean, but also C/J/Thai dramas which all have different tones/vibes. š
I was right. By reading all the comments here, it really reminds me of āCrazy Loveā era. š
A drama with a mix of light and dark genres, which starts with a light tone, then the tone shifts, darkens as the storylines get more serious to reveal the backstory, and make viewers realise that theyāve been given easter eggs along the way.
āDestined with Youā IS that kind of drama!
If youāre expecting it to hold consistent tones, then this drama might not be for you.
As for me, I missed these feelings. Excitement, confusion, theories. Bring it on. š
Finally binged all 10 episodes. Really enjoying. YNY, is just too obsessed. She is seeing another man on the side,…
I love to read your thoughts.
I personally think the gardener never drank the love potion.
Iām guessing heās one of the people who remember their past lives, and he has something to do with the spells book. Big possibility that heās the main villain, and assisted by YNY, who in the past, was the princess.
So he had been waiting for the book to return to its owner, LHJ, before executing his evil plan, the same as he did in his past life.

Same thoughts!
If we only looked from the surface, then we might see this story as āproblematicā. But itās more than just the surface.
Some viewers are still not used to this kind of non-linear storylines and abnormal character buildings that differ from other dramas. This results to some of them hating the āconfusingā storylines and characters.
Youāre also right about the subtitles. I watch it on Netflix and I noticed that the subtitles donāt do the drama justice. Iām lucky I can understand Korean because of 13 years being into Kdramaland, but other people might misunderstood the context.
Hahah. At first I was like that too. But then I decided to free my mind from any āWHYā questions and just…
Itās non-linear. Like a fellow viewer, @bloomingtide said below, āit is not confusing it just has a non-linear storyline is all. Instead of going from a to b we go from a to d then to c then to b and then back to a etc is allā.
If you observe, that perfectly describes this drama.
āEngaging with it is like entering a labyrinthā - I think thatās also right, to explain its messy and unpredictability, in a good way for me. We get lost at first, but eventually weāll find a way out! š
Itās been quite long since I havenāt watched this type of shows. š
I decided to stay instead of dropping this drama because I believe the writer will show more in later episodes. I just hope that it will end on a good note. š
So I'm on episode 5 and I am really struggling to get into this show. Halp!
Hahah. At first I was like that too. But then I decided to free my mind from any āWHYā questions and just accept the writerās way of storytelling, follow the flow. That way helps me go through this show and I even ended up loving it. š
Itās not like other typical Kdramas, so it could be a hit or miss.
Maybe ML has been under SFLās spells that made him obey her all this time, until the moment FL appears in his life and heās brought back to his true fate.
Or maybe heās been too ill so he just accepts whatever his parents want.
Am I the only one who thinks that the FL is NOT annoying? Sorry I'm just not annoyed by her quite yet, although…
Iām not Jo Bo Ahās fan, but I think her character is not annoying here. She reminds me of older Kdramas, and thatās some kind of refreshments for me, after seeing too many FLs in modern dramas who act cold and use violence to appear āstrongā.
Her character is actually strong, mentally and emotionally. She withstands difficulty in life with her own ways. Sheās also kind and friendly and not afraid to admit that sheās lonely, and she shows weakness in some areas, in a good way. Not a crybaby, but not a steelwoman either.
This drama is like a modern Kdrama with a touch of older Kdramas. I love it.
Yeah I read the news about him leaving his group. Good for him that he decided whatās best for him. I hope to see him again in good dramas in the future. I think Iām starting to become his fan since this drama š
No spoilers tho! āš¼

Also, Zoro and Sanji are like a bonus for me. š
I really missed this feeling. š„¹
