Or the fault comes from the Chinese government that does not let any BL project to have to depict happy and healthy relationships with a happy ending :) In the year of the project, all movies or dramas were dark, violent, or sad if not the projects were canceled and never got an ending... I know at least 3 projects that depicted BL and were quite successful but never got finished... they were baned. As you may have noticed both these projects were aired one after another ( I mean immediately, not even one month later) they already had it planned with a sad end in order not to be banned.
To answer your question of "why is it like this and not like that?" well basically it's because this drama is actually an intimate journal that portrays the story of a traumatized woman, that because of societal norms, can't ask for help. She is scared, embarrassed, and can't communicate, so instead of doing the right thing (asking the help of a professional), in order not to feel like a failure she throws herself at other men, while the husband needs to get his frustrations out and settles to have sex one time with different women. All this is set in stone because it's based on a true story, the series was made after an autobiographical book. The writer (the leading lady) never shows her face, even at fan meetings or book signings she wears masks to protect her identity. The story is so layered with Japanese societal rules (from the point of view of a westerner this could be solved) that the woman could not openly talk about sex (never even had sex ed), so in her position, she felt so bad and her problem remained unsolved until today. It's not an open ending, it's actually what happens in real life because of the pressures they gave up and never got an answer. A lot of westerners after finding the book tried to email her and give advice and wanted to help her.
This project is interesting because it has 3 seasons each with 12 episodes and a movie for the ending, but it's not all how it seems. The first season makes you think you understand what this series is about and makes you think the supernatural elements are predominant, yet in the second season things shift, and the story gets another "flavor". But I do have to say that it has a stereotypical element for the Chinese historical dramas and that is that there are a lot of sad scenes (I can even say the word tragedy). For people that want a happy ending, you get it :) As for the main lady, people complain she looks 12, which I don't think so... she has a childish face and she may look young compared to western standards but a 12-year-old Asian girl does not look like her :)) She has natural make up which obviously doe not make her look more mature but she does look 17 at least. The acting is nice, the main cast are young but did a good job.
Liked this show, except the last episode that just was full-on plot holes in order to fit the exaggerated drama :)) It's like all the characters became dumb in the last episode ... the rest was perfect :)
I don't understand why people didn't like the story... For me it was well developed, the ML can be annoying but…
People don't like it because the writing is bad, the plot is not cohesive and a lot of things happen just for fillers, there is no reason for them as they don't push the plot forward... te rest of the project s good :)
Preach!!! Plot holes everywhere, I was asking myself the same thing... what's the bad guy's motive? What does Sul Min Joon bring to the story? Is he just a character prop? And so on... after episode 9 it was just too much...
I liked the actors in this drama, the acting is good, the effects are acceptable and it seems a quality project for the first episodes. So the story starts out ok, as any other story there are events that put in motion the main action that is supposed to lead to a target, in the end, to resolve the situation, but as the story develops around episode 9 things start to get completely out of control with the writing and this project is dragged out. Characters that already had their story arch just pop out from nowhere and then disappear again without actually being necessary, I guess I understand what the writers wanted to do with the twist and turns in the story but they just ended up creating plot holes that just ruin the entire premise of the series. Then let me mention one unfortunate character Sul Min Joon that I actually liked but was just tortured and used for no purpose in the series, he never got justice, he just was there as a prop for other characters and that is it... it was like a character filler... LOL. Then the ending was such a cliche, they did that for an opportunity of a second season... This could have been an epic story ( extra points for the biomechanical idea), with the classical element but it turned out as a mess...
As far as I know there is no official release on DVD or Blu-Ray. I'm afraid most of them are (as SuibianX said)…
Yes, thank you!!! I did not search where I can download them with good quality, I had an account on Asian torrent (now AvistaZ with invite) when it was free but my account was shot down because I did not use it when I was in Uni (like 3 years) and when I wrote to them the said they can only activate it if I give them proof of my seeding score from another website (file list for exemple), but I just don't use any western torrents I buy the movies or watch on websites... so I gave up, but that AvistaZ in one of the best as I remember, they have all series and movies from Asia with subs in multiple languages in perfect quality :) you just have to seed and keep a good score and rate their projects. So I will try to find a place to download the episode with ENG sub and good quality :) Thank you kindly :)
Guys, some days ago I was actually searching to buy the series on DVD and on Amazon, they have it for like 60 pounds and they describe it to be Blue-R and ENG sub, but the comments all mention the quality is not that good it's better on Netflix (which I have- but I still want the DVD)... Where could I get good DVDs with eng sub? does anybody know?
He did not drop out he was kicked out with no reason...
Yes he did he posted some time ago when he took down his representation from MV from his page, it was before any official statement was published, in the time when they just started to exclude him from activities. I guess fans were asking about his absence and he did not know a thing, and then he had to ask for himself what was going on, and after they told him he was out he took down the info from his page and said he had no more info before this than the fans. Because people already knew he was out ounce that happened. And then fans were enraged and MV published their statement that was again fishy. He never said anything again after that, he has so much class, he only said good things and supported his friend actors, while MV put out another statement full of stupid statements and angered the fans even more. I guess even if he would want to defend himself he can't even if he is out of the project the is still under contract, at least that is how I understood, that when he signed the contract it was said he will participate in the 2 Moon project until the end... That is what I got from the forums and posts... If I miss understood then I don't know, but I knew before MV posted their statement that he was out, and then it was proven to me :((
Ok, I did not see this movie yet but I read the description and I watched the trailer without any subs, so I did not understand what they were saying... But I saw some strange movies in my life from all around the world... and I can say this trailer and description gave me the strangest vibe ever and a strange idea of the possible sinopsis of the movie. So one guy wanted to kill himself and someone basically considered that if the guy does not want his life he can take it ("If you don't want it, you don't deserve it,so I can take it keep you here and use you"-something crazy like that). I guess another extreme would be if a truly suicidal person would meet a killer... a mach made in hell. Or it could be the other guy is obsessed to make the suicidal guy want to live? Because he seamed to think that he can manage to please him... if not the sex part does not make sense? They both are twisted. But suicide, kidnapping and R rated does sound dark :( I will live another comment after I watch the movie.

Apparently Motive Village is a bit shady and money hungry, obviously I don't know 100% because I did not work with them, but in the community they don't have a good reputation and many people on different forums said they did similar things before. They also only came out with statements after the fans already observed that earth was missing from promotions and projects, and when they did say something people said they don't make sense and they lie. This series seems cursed... they just can't hold on for 2 consecutive seasons without kicking out someone. But it pisses me of a bit the they want to do 2 moons 3 like everything is the same. Why was Earth cast in the first place if they thought he was untalented? As they claimed.

No, he posted that he found out online he was not in anymore... basically this was not treated professionally he found out he was not included in promos and band and stuff. At least that is what I saw in the post... because he was not there anymore already even before the company put out an oficial statement about the band and about him not being suited for the vibe of the musical project... Did i notice this wrongly?
