Not the BL role to be a challenge the project in it self... they don't want to stagnate in one cliche role, they want the role to require for them to push their limits in acting, that is what they meant by challenging. They think BL roles are to stereotypical-fake, in all their roles they have to do exactly the same, they want a variety of gay roles and characters and story lines (does that explain what they meant?) It's not the problem that the role is BL the problem is that the story is limited and repetitive. As for the other thing you mentioned, I think they say that because in Asia fan service is extreme, you know how some fans just exaggerate with their ships, which takes a toll on them. In western world and actor goes does his job but when the steps out on the street they are not required to do fan service and play their role, but in Asia, mostly in BL they are put in that situation to be stuck to each-other... even if they don't get along... So I understand if they say I will do a BL with X because we are friends and we have the fans and they love us, but I will not put other Bl projects as a priority...
And yes, you got hurt by what he said or what they translated he said but what I was trying to say is that offense is never given it's taken, and in this situation, he was talking strictly professionally, it was not an attack no you or the community, it was about acting (you will just hurt yourself, by consuming yourself with something it was not meant to hurt you).
I get what you say it's bad, but I don't think that here that is the case, in this situation what they said was meant to say that the Thai Bl genre is like a "typecast" and it's not diverse enough at this point in their careers, they want diversity in their roles no matter if in Bl or in other genres, they want that challenge that pushes their acting limits. I don't know is I explained well what they said :)
I myself saw a total of 3 BL projects from Thailand that were movies and were completely different and extreme compared to the BL series and Gun had a role in all of them, and he mentions of accepting them because they were so different or complex, and I swear I have never seen something like them before, they are one of a kind... One is a BL psychological/horror (one needs to see it at least 2 times to get the message between the lines), the other is a BL movie filmed entirely as a metaphor (also one needs to watch it multiple times in order to get the true meaning) and the third movie, a sequel to the second one I mentioned which I was completely shocked about ( it is a dark comedy/porn, that just blindsided me) because until today I think the themes tackled were complicated and serious, but the writing was a bit all over the place and the characters personalities were unstable and inconsistent... The rest Bl projects are too predictable...
The Netflix project is nice, but again the BL storyline is not the main one, so this project is not mainly a BL project, it is more diverse.
Also, I have to mention this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmUQsogOa5s&t=62s where the YouTuber explains this problem from a different angle where she does say that BL is written and treated by some people wrongly (as a fetish)... I feel that is is also a reason why they could feel uncomfortable.
Also, I found they were some people that I considered a bit absurd from a point of view (I get where they came from, but the way they attacked and who they attacked were the wrong target - but I feel it's similar with this situation when the actors were attacked when clearly the industry is a bit at fault with the way they promote the work and how they try to mold it stereotypically in just one format) when a straight actor ( Jared Joseph Leto) took the role of a trans woman people fliped out why a straight man took the role and not a real trans woman (which I thought it's absurd)... clearly because of the past when there was no tolerance and acceptance, no prominent trans actor/actress rise to fame (being that probably they did not choose this career or more probably because they were not given a chance) but the outcome is that at this moment there is no trans person in Hollywood that has the same Cv./credentials/infuence/power attached to the name as Jared and the tallent, so he was cast. That is the challenge in being an actor is to push your boundaries and stretch your imagination, in this situation a straight person (is he straight? these days you never know) had to learn about the life of trans people, had to understand (there is a process there)... but it was a more complicated story, with a heavier subject.
I saw "The Effect" which was challenging and different but it had only 3 episodes... I beat that is what the boys meant by challenging, as in roles that challenge their abilities.

Ooo sry I did not save it and this happened some time ago (so I can't find it,I just remember it was when first came out and people started going crazy, later on they even made videos on youtube explaining it was a misunderstanding), I read most of the information on forums, mostly with Thai people talking about the misunderstanding and translating and explaining the situation, actually somewhere in this comment page there is a Thai person that was writing the same and they were upset with the international fans for being so mean without knowing the situation and I even wrote back to them. Also Perth already took a BL role in a Netflix project because it was different compared to the cliche BL he played before, and people are waiting for multiple seasons... Also the majority of the actors do stick with their BL partner but in rest they do have solo projects out side BL there are actors that rarely accept to do multiple ships in their careers in BL :) I will try to see if I can find the Thai person in the comment section could be they have better sources or you can search on forums or even youtube.

Yes thank you!! All the characters in this story are delusional and crazy, it was just too much in one drama...
This is one of the dramas where not one character has common sense and just makes me hate their actions :)) they are just to exaggerated and extreme. :))
From time to time I find a drama and one of the character just makes me slap my self... but in this drama they are all the same :((

The ending is not the same

In the movie she dies, the last part was a dream that is why they are shown young... In the book she gets to be old... but they changed the ending in the movie and that is why the Tragedy tag is on it

This is made after a book and there is also a movie adaptation, she was the target but the guys confused her with her sister... if I remember well...

True but I heard they changed the ending compared to the book, and that in the movie she died and the ending was a dream.

I was disappointed a bit by the show, even though I know they were on a lower budget and only had 12 episodes... The passing of time is badly depicted as well (the viewer does not get the sense of how much time passed and how much time they actually spent together, how they got close so fast...) and also the time when Type throws the pillow at Tharm and then wants it back in the series just looks like it's a bit random (when in the book he is angry at himself for thinking he wants to top Tharn and then gets all red and has a lot of thought about the situation) in the show nothing is shown... he just throws the pillow and we don't get see his why, we don't have the time to see the development and how they feel. But for the people like me that read the book, we fill in the blanks :)) That is why when the series came out people were angry and talked about the abuse :)) I was like... well it looks like it :)) but it shouldn't... :((

Actually you are wrong :)) The first time it happened was the only time Tharn did not think of Type, it happened because of a fight and Tharn did not want anything sexual first, in that situation he wanted to hurt Thype like literally hit him, but when Type said that" it's hurting him" Tharn immediately stepped back and stooped, then it proceeded into something sexual in which Type was already too turned on (by the porn) to say no (he came and was shocked that he was not disgusted by Tharn's touch) and then he remembered his past and had the panic attack.
After that in the book, Tharn already knows that Type is different towards him because Type keeps getting red and watching him in a certain way.
The second time they get together was in the shower part and Tharn tells him he thinks Type invited him there (by this point Type already can't control his desire and can't stop thinking of Tharn). In the book, the punch and the kick happened before any type of fiscal contact, and after the first time, Type is not aggressive at all towards Tharn (he uses nasty words but he is not aggressive, and when Tharn looks sad Type immediately changes and calms down).
Even more, Type even said that he is embarrassed by his attitude because he kept saying that " Tharn would want to get him because he is a predator" but in reality, he is the one that wants to push Tharn down and keeps saying Tharn is the only one that made him enjoy the "act".
When Tharn finds out about Type's past and he never gets close to him again, which is why Type initiates the idea of sex... because Type can't hold back, and in all this time we also have Tharn mentioned that he realized that Type watched him, and has cute reactions to him, for which he felt encouraged to try and get closer.
The only time he did wrong was the first when he was angry and for that Tharn even said he regrets and asks for forgiveness from Type. In the book, things don't go down without explications and without us knowing all the time what both of them are thinking and what drives their decisions, so it's easier to see that it's no abuse.

yes, but he did not do it only to get him that way, No was older and has known him for 3 years, he said he saw Kla as a brother. Basically, if Kla would have confessed normally he would have been rejected because No has this idea that Kla is a kid and he is innocent so Kla did something crazy to change the dynamic between them. Kla was worst than friend-zoned in No's mind, so Kla was desperate, plus No was a virgin way harder to tempt him in a more subtle way, Kla went for the crazy extreme approach. No was not interested in anyone before (he hid not have a type), so Kla would not know how to approach or flirt with him...
I think they did this to show how crazy young people can get, I mean I can not count how many times I saw my friend get drunk then make out with people... it's realistic...
I always judge the situation on how they mark the characters if the characters are not traumatized which means they were not that against it, in this situation specifically, they asked for more (Kla even said he will not do a thing and will let No do what he wants).
I saw " Effect" the series and that was horrible because even if the guys first had a crush on each other, the development was real and horrible and the outcome was obviously so scary and sad.
Basically I let the characters "decide" how affected they are (if they consider it bad or not, it depends from person to person)... in order for me to decide how much of a forced thing it is. If the relationship does not turn toxic and if the characters that made mistakes learn and change, then I am not against the story.

Kla did not get him drunk, No was drunk on his own, also in the book, it is shown that he was aware who Kla is (recognizing him as his younger brother's best friend, knowing that Kla spent a long time at their house), he responded to the kiss knowing what was going on but referring to himself as a virgin (as in inexperienced and embarrassed) later on asking him not to stop. In the book, he was not as drunk as in the series, in the book he was walking alone from room to room and he even knew where he was. In the series, since they were not the main couple they did not get enough time on the screen to portray their relationship and the development. Also if I remember correctly Type gets involved... and settles the score for No.

Thaen and Type are a bit messy in the series... because 12 episodes don't portray the development good enough... and there is a misunderstanding that it was abuse... but in the book is different because we can hear Type's thoughts, Type in the begging wants to be close to Type and considers him attractive, even hot, he becomes hostile only because of his sexual orientation (all because of what happened to him in the past). And even when Tharn first touches him in the book Type thinks that he is not disgusted by Tharn's touch but he gets a panic attack because he remembers the past (it was not Tharn scaring him, but the images from the past). After that Type wanted to be with Tharn but did not say it out loud he was fighting his desire (because he could not accept he has feelings for a guy), and after he told Tharn about his past, he mentioned that Tharn did not make a move to get close to him at all, that is why Type made the first move to get close to him after that :)) (But all this happened in a longer period of time). Tharn was also traumatized by his first experience, even if in the series this is not that evident, in the book is more serious because he got hurt badly and he is scared to be a bottom (that is why he is exclusively top, it's a trauma for him). And in the book they got that close because basically they understood each-other more than the rest.

In the book is not like that, and he did not get him drunk, No got drunk on his own. Also, he did not push him away when he was sober the morning after :)) Kengkla is also younger and more immature and selfish :)
All I am curious about that is the filming schedule changed... could be that Saint has time to make a short comeback at least :)

Ha Ha, I guess everyone has an idea :) I was thinking about the as well first but then I saw on YouTube a realistic fan art of Mew and was shocked he was portrayed as a detective or mafia... he had a long coat on and a hoster with a gun he looked so good.
