i commented on this before — that novel readers should be the first to understand and empathise with why he yan seemingly acts so carefree outside the battlefield. she is serious when she needs to be (as we all witness), but this woman is also living for the first time as herself. some passages in the drama also make it clear that this isn’t a revenge-focused story; there aren’t even any tags suggesting that so idk why some viewers here didn’t pick that up.

no no, i believe that in the drama, he yan and he rufei have the same father but different mothers. i am just confuse tho if he is really her stepbrother and not actual brother, because they only show he yan's mother and the subtitles just says "brother".

i just saw a trailer? there is he rufei training and the attendants are commenting that "the eldest son grew up a lot (height and build)". ayoo the director really likes tricks, there are so many foreshadowing in this drama and i for sure have missed lots of clues (i wish there is a thread for these). def need to rewatch once all eps are out.
