they were doing so great the whole time and the FL is the most understanding and forgiving FL I've seen but why…
I thought they wrote that part well. Every couple grows through some conflict. He made a mistake and acknowledged that he was wrong while she was just disappointed in how his faith in her capability wavered. This led to that sweet, sweet make-up scene.
133 episodes are a blessing after you grow to like watching every character. Especially the two leads; love watching their scenes. From their initial meeting, romance blossom, and how they interact/bond after getting together.
Oh good lord this went full early-2000s k-melodrama for the last 30 or so episodes... disappointingly draggy af.
If you are in the mood for the male lead to continuously cut onions by sacrificing his own happiness/well-being to quietly help the female lead, then this story hits the spot.
The story, acting, and music kept me interested enough to keep watching. All three areas invoked tears, so i believe this drama did a good job at that.
Feels like a lot of the negative feedback glossed over what this drama set out to do.
It's priority is the millennium-long love between the two leads, so every event and emotions will naturally revolve around that.
Victoria acted really well imo; her character is timid yet mature and loyal when it comes to family and friends. She never annoyed me throughout the drama like some female lead characters did in other dramas. I felt her emotions and actually empathized with her from time to time. There was a really good scene where she displayed both immense sadness while describing something cute.
Johnny did an amazing job too imo. Some comments complained he lacked emotions, but I can perfectly see why; he's been painstakingly living for almost 1000 years after losing the woman he dearly loves. He doesn't care much about anything else besides his devotion to PiPi.
I really liked the story. The amount of time spent on the two ex-friends were good imo. It shows us the emotions the three of them went through because you know, it's a love story. Helan - even after nearly 1000 years of experience - he was surprised and still had to go through some new experiences with his love. I actually liked the ending; further shows how strong their love is.
If you like the stories where the ML unconditionally loves and support the FL - even if it means she's happy with someone else - then this drama hits the spot. So many scenes where onions were cut.
It happens quite often throughout the drama. I just concluded their filming schedule was not the best so they settled with "dusk" is when he gets his vision. (I think he mentioned his eyes work when it's dusk early in the drama?)
The two "intelligent" leads are the stupidest idiots... getting tricked by the same people over and over again. Getting real tired of that by ep 31... and that king the ML is loyal to is trash btw. The only redeeming thing about this drama is their undying romance.
Waaay too many dumb misunderstandings between the leads by sketchy people. Their love is strong enough to transcend space and time but they can't just do something simple as confronting each other?
The love story and acting were good enough to keep me interested. Unfortunately, i kept thinking what Pingting could have been if another actress was casted :(

I've been on a binge search for similar male leads in dramas and novels. You can check my custom list in my profile if you want to see more.
Sounds like i will have to give this drama a try now!
