Wow, this drama completely and entirely wrecked me up. You never really guess what's going to happen and how it'll unfold, but it does so wonderfully and leaves incredibly touching life lessons. The more you connect the pieces at the beginning of the drama by its end, the more meaningful and deeper it gets, and definitely, the more it wrecks you up.
Amazing acting, beautiful scenarios and background music. Really underrated in this site, it should be at least 8.7.

Everyone here forgets that the only friend Min seol ah had was eunbyeol, I'm disappointed with the change in her…
I don't think you can call Eunbyeol Seolah's friend. Eunbyeol liked her because she was smart and she thought Seolah studied in an important university in the US, so she liked that Seolah would allegedly help her with her grades. However, as soon as Seolah's secret was revealed she turned her back on her quick and shamed her too.

Does anyone remember the incest vibes the twins gave in S1? I wonder if Seokhoon will 'fall' for Seokkyung now…
I never got incest vibes from them... Seokhoon has always been very protective of her as a brother genuinely and he's head over hills for Rona anyway.

Honestly, I like DH, but he is doing way too much for someone he isn't in a relationship with. It isn't certain…
Well, he's trying his best to make her feel comfortable and is quite literally trying to hit on her without pressuring her. I don't think he's doing too much.

Title Blue Birthday Spoiler
This drama is kind of similar to the anime 'Erased', not exactly the same, but the concept of an adult going back to his school days to save a friend. In the process, the past keeps messing up the future and at the end he manages to save everyone, but the sacrifice was himself. He ends up in coma for 15 years and wakes up in the future (where he started travelling to the past) to recover himself.

I thought Soojin was going to kill herself instead in the past, but I'm glad they "simply" stopped being friends. If it was me, I would just try to be friends again in the new present instead of going back and risking more.

So glad it's finally over. It had a great start but got boring and uninteresting after ep 7. I watched the last…
The only way I won't feel robbed and like I wasted 12 hours of my life in this is by thinking that Soohyun was implied to be gay. Wait, I have arguments! Well, first of all, he had two female love interests and chose none. Okay, it may mean he was just not interested, but it's kind of rare to find things like this in a kdrama. Second, Soohyun did admit he liked a person in that field trip. Although the question explicitly said "lower your finger if you like any *girl* here, he rejected the two girls he could be interested in (because he obviously was not into Sobin), so my conclusion is that he actually had a crush on Jun but would not act on it because 1) they're friends, 2) Jun has a girlfriend, 3) he's way too busy with his life to date - of course, this could also be applied to explain why he didn't accept either Miju or Youngran, but this is my coping mechanism and one must do what makes them happy. In my heart, Nam Soohyun is gay in the drama too.

According to what was explained in ep 11, the manager tried to sell her off as a scort in order for her and OMEGA-3…
That part is indeed confusing because it makes it look like he was unaware of the pictures. But maybe he did see the picture before and was surprised that the reported had the picture, and only then he realized that NOG CEO was the one in the picture. Probably, he thought that OMEGA-3's manager was the one blackmailing her on his own, as in, not an order from NOG or something, just that he was trying to get some benefit off her, but then when the reported showed Jihak the picture, maybe he realized then that it was all orchested by NOG ent, which is why he looks surprised. It's my theory only, but it is kind of confusing indeed.

According to what was explained in ep 11, the manager tried to sell her off as a scort in order for her and OMEGA-3…
That's not what I said, though. Annie at first refused, she was told to just attend a meeting of "shareholders" (the dinner) but it turned out to be a bunch of creeps that wanted to take her somewhere else. She refused and the manager blackmailed her, not with Eunjo's career per se but with her relationship with him, by exposing them, which would affect his career and tank the chances of debuting under OMEGA-3. As it's shown in the drama, OMEGA-3 did have their debut planned and would go with it, which shows that Annie went along with the manager's intentions but at a certain extent, because Annie tells Eunjo in the voice message that she didn't do anything she would be ashamed to tell him, which could be interpreted as sleeping with any of the "sponsors," which she didn't do. She probably just went to more dinners and did some things that were bad enough for her to ask him to never forgive her, but not too bad that she would be ashamed to tell him.

Annie later refused to keep doing those things, the picture with the CEO was taken in front of a hotel, which could be misunderstood as if she was sponsored by him and that's why OMEGA-3 could debut (which wasn't true).

Jihak (JH ent CEO) showed her the pics so that she would realize that NOG was threatening her to continue scorting in exchange of not exposing her relationship with Eunjo, so Jihak advised her to end things with Eunjo so that NOG had nothing else to threaten her with and avoid scorting as they wouldn't have anything on her anymore.

very confused but what happened to annie?
According to what was explained in ep 11, the manager tried to sell her off as a scort in order for her and OMEGA-3 to debut (this is actually something that is known to have happened within the Kpop industry, so it's nothing fictional only), when she refused the manager tried to blackmail her with the fact that she was dating Eunjo (which would cause him a lot of trouble and Ria and Hyunjin would probably never debut, as well as Annie herself). Annie had a hard time with this, she then was showed some pics of her meeting with the CEO of NOG ent. that looked like he was sponsoring her (sexually), and everything felt too difficult for her, naturally, so she took her life.

They didn't seem aware of the abuser's plans and from her POV they warned her about the situation which enabled…
But Jeongho isn't innocent, he's taken advantage of Jun and hurt Sobin too. Any normal person would just not drink with the friends of a dude that abused your friend just right after it happened...
On At a Distance, Spring Is Green Jul 17, 2021
I have sooo many complaints about this show but rn watching Ep9 after Youngran saved Sobin from the abuser, the literal next scene is her drinking with the abuser's friends like??????? I thought she was gonna get back at them somehow but no???? She just sat there and drank with them, talking about Soohyun ???? What the heck

I have a lot to comment on this article.

I definitely agree with everything that you said but I would also like to bring light on some things that your points seem to miss. KMY and JYS are indeed problematic portrayals of romanticized people with personality disorders and they aren't never properly addressed, in fact, both dramas preach the usual "love heals everything" narrative that is very dangerous for all the reasons you've mentioned.

This also isn't the first time that I've seen people criticizing both or either leads for the same reasons, and I myself did so as well, especially the clearly romanticized sexual assault by KMY and racist and transphobic remarks by JYS. However, even though I agree with all your points, it really bothers me that this narrative is also rising now that female characters are portrayed this way, but people have stayed silent for long years despite male leads having all these problematic behaviors, or more.

--> "This might also result in a misinterpretation of assault for romance."

Romanticized assault is not a surprise in kdramas, not only older kdramas (2000s ~ early 2010s), but several post 2015 kdramas have them to: forced kisses, different types of coercing, rough grabbing, yelling, etc. Everyone knows cold, rude, jerk male leads are very common and all of those characters have mistreated and assaulted the FLs a lot, and are romanticized both by the drama and the fans, but I only see this conversation now that a FL shows the same things that have characterized MLs through years.

--> "In actuality, if certain people with ASPD treat others in the same way as Ko Mun Yeong and Jo Yi Seo treated their MLs, it might lead to really terrible things. I know it might sound like I'm overreacting, but I’m just trying to demonstrate how depiction in entertainment can influence our lives as viewers. After all, some of the people who suffer from ASPD are a danger to society."

I can't even remember the amount of times MLs have being clearly stalker-y, creepy, rude, offensive, assaulting and so many more things towards the FL, how they've ridiculed the FLs and never apologized for it, only made up after falling for them, but have treated them in awful ways and shown several behaviors that are normalized in kdramas and romanticized to the point a lot of kdrama watchers have weird expectations of men that display abusive behaviors such as excessive jealousy, controlling of the male friends, raising the tone of voice when they're angry and it's seen as "masculine" and "protective", and the list goes on.

I feel like I'm going in circles with my statement but my entire point is the fact that people have only seemed to realize that there are many problematic things in several behaviors of kdrama leads now that there are more blunt and strong FLs that reflect the same attitudes that MLs have had in the industry for years, but I guess people are only bringing up the conversation because it's unacceptable for women to be act like this while MLs can get away with anything.

And that brings me to the next point, True Beauty.

I also agree to say that TB has an increidbly unhealthy way of selling the narrative of looking within yourself to find your 'true beauty', however, knowing that the webtoon author wrote it with the intention of showing how society changes around you if you're pretty, I think the drama was a sort of satire where the main point is to show that society indeed treats pretty people better and that it is wrong to do so. It criticizes society in a way not many people would interprete in such way exactly because the writers didn't deliver the message in the best way possible, but that's the way I like to see the drama.

TL;DR - I definitely agree with everything you say but it bothers me that this conversation is only a topic now that female characters are doing what male characters have done since forever.
