I think he said that to reassure her that his intentions weren't evil. He took the job in the beginning for his own reasons, he already wanted to protect her from before. If you remember, he watched her public appearances while he was working in some Middle Eastern country, meaning he already knew her. After meeting her irl, he realized he wanted to protect her. This is certainly not all that clear about how it started, but it was shown that his motivation to take the job was to protect her and not leak info about her. That's why he destroyed the trackers and everything Valkyrie gave him to leak her info.
So Sanho said he needed her and wanted to escape with her because he was already in love with her. The time he spent as her bodyguard was to protect her, not to fulfill his job. I think he took on the job to have access to more info about the people that were onto her.

Extremely weak compared to S1, but Jihoon and Jun killed their roles as usual.

The fighting scenes are also overboard. I feel like this season was 50% generic fighting scenes and 50% plot. The only one I actually enjoyed was the rooftop one between Sieun and Seongjae.

I thought the characters were in their mid/late 30s, though. They said Eunho got married, had a child and divorced all in his 20s, and since Byeol is only 7 years old, he can't be past 40s. Not like it's that important, though, just pointing it out 😅

I agree completely! Part 1 was incredible, I binge watched it in one go. Everything you mentioned about the battles, the women's struggles and how they saved themselves, the historical aspects, the horrors of war... Everything was perfect, to the point that even though the leads were away for most of the part, the plot wasn't draggy or boring at all. Part 2 started off similarly, but it became too messy with all the subplots you mentioned. The queen was never even caught in her plot, so what was that cursed object thing anyway... I absolutely haré amnesia plots, so as soon as this was introduced here, they lost me. I feel like that was the beginning of the downfall of this part. And they didn't even keep it like that, they used the amnesia plot again. It would've made more sense if Jang Hyeon had Alzheimer's, lol.

Anyway, like you said too, it was still an amazing show and a few flaws don't ruin everything else that was incredible--acting, cinematography, etc. I don't regret watching it either and will always recommend it.

I'm gonna have to put this on hold because as much as I love Se Young, I really can't stand her character here. I'll wait for more eps to be out and see if this ridiculous plot continues or if it gets better. I'll either pick it up or drop it completely. Think I'm too old now to watch boring dramas just for my favs, lol.

You're totally right! I was so confused by that random scene when the drama didn't need anything like that and was perfect on its own. It's so unnecessary and at this point, even kind of lazy writing.

I don't think the chairman wants to ruin Jiyoon, he just invested in both her and CW's CEO, probably a business strategy. Isn't he the dad of the previous CEO that killed himself? He's the chairman of Career Way, but he likes Jiyoon, so he invested in her as well. That's what I've understood/assumed so far, anyway.

I'm with you here. It would be completely out of character for Eunho to reject her feelings - he didn't even try to dodge her sleepy attempt to kiss him at her office and slept on the floor in his living room holding her hand so she wouldn't have nightmares. It would just be weird. Instead, it would be totally on character for Jiyoon to confess and say she doesn't have time for that and will wrap up her emotions by herself, and then she'll live him there. He will either go home and reflect about everything that just happened (the scene where we saw him aggressively drinking water could be this one, or one after he's told that he will be replaced) ; or stand there confused and will say his part as well. Maybe the kiss scene will be at that moment, but it'll depend on how they lead up to it. I'd like a bit more tension before the kiss, but it's definitely coming next week.

The gender was assumed by the translator. The phrase the dad said was gender-less because it didn't have a direct object. He just said, "I will bring [them] and be back soon." So, it could be a random girl, a random boy, or our ML.
