I feel like anyone who judges a drama (especially any asian drama) in like the first two episodes should just…
I didn't rate ALL the eps or the drama. The rate of this review doesn't affect the overall rate of the drama. The drama is logged as "Currently Watching" on my MDL. For some reason, the review shows "12/12 episodes seen" but I can't change it. Besides that, I don't think it's any of your business how I use a platform.
Whoever thought it was a good idea to burn 30 billion on this script....I skipped 50 % of ep 4. I felt very uncomfortable…
This drama is ridiculously stupid, like I can't even bring myself to put it into words. I was looking forward to this as an old school kdrama watcher who had a strong LMH phase, but God, I don't understand how either he or GHJ chose this script. It's awfully ridiculous. It's a shame because this is the first time LMH has acted as something other than a rich man, and I think he looks the best in this show, but none of that can save it. What a way to throw billions out of the window.
Sorry, I'm actually re-writing this comment because my phone sent it before it was finished ๐You have exactly…
I also had enough of reincarnation dramas after being attacked by them back to back for like 2 years recently? But even like that, I'm much more annoyed with the met as kids trope. Thing is, reincarnation dramas are fantasy dramas and you know what to expect, or you can just skip the tag. But childhood lovers can be present anywhere and you never know when they will throw it at your face. A drama could go perfectly well between two adults, but towards the end, they'll throw you some unnecessary childhood connection. I don't remember which drama it was, but they scarred me forever by throwing a random childhood scene towards the end even though nothing had been hinted throughout the drama. I thought it was a drama with Park Seojoon, but I'm not sure anymore. Either way, ever since that drama, I can't stand the childhood friends to lovers trope anymore. Hopefully, the one in Love Scout is not going to be too intense and just a random coincidence ๐ฎโ๐จ

I agree 100% with everything you've said. The only thing to add is that Love Scout seems to hint a childhood connection as well, thought this time it might not be a friendship, but definitely something that connected them in their childhood. Which again, it's very annoying because of this whole "meant to be" trope that kdrama writers can't seem to drop. Very frustrating.
First of all, you're a dumbass to think that this is a romcom when clearly the genre is romance. There's a huge…
Surely I am a bigger dumbass for mixing up the genre of a drama than someone who gets worked up and resorts to insults online because someone mistook the genre of a drama.
Same here. I love LSY, but I can already tell that I'm going to have a hard time watching it. Honestly, I gave…
I was also very disappointed with What Comes After Love. The first ep looked promising, but it fell off right after. I was excited for it for LSY but also because it was Kentaro's first Kdrama role, but it was extremely messy and full of nonsense. I loved the styling of the leads and the overall cinematography, but the script itself was dumb and didn't feel melodramatic, just unnecessarily dramatic and nonsensical.
I wish I knew why writers can't write anymore. It seems to me that the only good shows recently are those adapted from webtoons and webnovels (Love Scout, When The Phone Rings), and even then, there's no guarantee that it will be good, as we see here. I feel like dramas like Love Your Enemy are truly a gem because they're original stories with characters behaving like real people and with a great balance of romance and comedy. Which brings me to something I forgot to mention about Motel California -- the comedy aspects that feel completely disconnected from the rest of the show? Like, they want it to be funny, but it just feels abrupt and it doesn't match the vibe they've created with the rest of the show. I don't know, this show becomes messier the more I think about it.
your review is my thoughts exactly. I always thought this actress knows how to choose a best script, but not this…
Same here. I love LSY, but I can already tell that I'm going to have a hard time watching it. Honestly, I gave it 7.0 being generous, but these two eps are barely a 6.0. The production is good and the cast is great, but the plot is not looking like it's going anywhere. I was looking forward to it so much, such a shame.
Unfortunately, the first two episodes werenโt that good. I started the series because of the main actors. I…
If you want to watch her in an actual good drama, watch The Red Sleeve 10000% recommended. Also, The Story of Park's Marriage Contract was also really sweet with a great ML. In this one she's a strong FL and not at all a bitch. Really loved that one.
I don't think I've ever felt like this with a Kdrama before - hoping that the main leads meet other people, fall in love and be happy away from each other. Kang Hee is a dumbass aside of being a bitch, and Yeon Soo is an idiot who needs to experience life beyond his childhood puppy crush. These two are stupidly toxic to each other. I really hops they don't end up together, but that's very unlikely in Kdramaland.
The rating on MDL is ridiculously high. I love Lee Se Young, but this drama is beyond frustrating and stupid.
EDIT: wording.
EDIT 2: Wording again, cuz apparently I'm a dumbass for thinking this is a romcom. I pretty much just meant "kdrama," but I guess it's easier to call people dumbasses than correcting them.
finished ep 4 kdrama writers really can't make a story without childhood connection ๐ญ๐ญ
That part annoyed me too. There really is no need for a childhood connection, they already have great chemistry. I guess they need to introduce the base for the future problem, which will be that they find out her dad died saving him, and they only learn about this after they are happy together, which will obviously be the forced breakup/separation part. Let's enjoy the good things while we still have them ๐ฅฒ
I had anticipated this drama so long when it was announced, then it came out and I started it immediately because…
I wonder if one day I'll be like you and finish it. It's the only LMH I haven't watched (along with Faith), but just remembering what it is about makes me tired. Maybe I could play it in the back in 1.5x while I draw or something ๐ you're strong!
Dropped this one when ML and FL suddenly fell in love. It didn't make any sense the way it happened. There was…
I had anticipated this drama so long when it was announced, then it came out and I started it immediately because at the time, LMH was my top favorite actor and it was his comeback drama. I was so hyped up about it, only to be hit with a terrible plot with incredible visuals and budget, but unsavable nonetheless. The reason you dropped is the very reason I dropped it, too. It just didn't make sense at all that they were suddenly crazily in love with each other. Dropping it while everyone else was watching it and enjoying it made me feel like there was something wrong with me, but honestly, I don't regret it. I came back today to see if maybe I could give it a second chance, but your comment made me remember why I didn't even give it a first one because it's just not worth it. Such a waste of a cast and budget.
