@Pinoy Ares,Hello. You have a detailed review on the said drama and I can imagine that you have been into Korean…
Hi thanks for commenting and writing and i appreciate the friendly posts!
To be perfectly honest with you, i became a K-drama fan mainly because of one actor- Kim Soo Hyun. I remembered travelling a few times to Singapore for work more than 10 years ago and constantly seeing his big cute Samsonite ads in the airport (there was a lot of big posters scattered in Changgi Airport) thats I started reasearching about him and watching his dramas. He made me a fan. Well also because Kdrams are much easier to watch than your typical US series at the time. Just about 16 episodes and you move on to the next story.
I like light and fluff series, something that makes you forget your reality even if its just for a few hours. regarding Cinderella type storylines, here are some that i watched that i can quickly think of that may fall into thie same richboy-poor girl category (please take note that this not in order of importance or quality): 1. Cinderella and the Four Knights 2. The Heirs 3. A Business Proposal 4, Boys over Flowers 5 Cheese in the Trap 6. Whats Wrong with Secretary Kim 7. King the Land 8. Strongwoman Do Bong Soon 9. Shopping King Louie 10. I AM Robot (maybe) 11. She Was Pretty 12.Are You Human Too 13. Bride of Habaek
Some historical/fantasy themed rich/poor girl stories: 1, Scarlet Heart Ryeo 2. 100 days my Prince 3. Rookie Historian 4. The Red Sleeve 5. Love in the Moonlight 6. Forbidden Marriage 7. Lovers in the Red Sky
hi thanks for reading and commenting! Dont get me wrong, i did finish the series and watched it weekly thats why…
Hi @ilocanongtagalog, thanks for joining the discussion.
I actually thought it will be a very different show during the first episode. I even loved their break up dinners but as the show progressed it became eveident that i expected too much.
I know the story seems dragging but I still enjoyed it. Now to talk about the title "Cinderella at 2 pm" bro I…
hi thanks for reading and commenting! Dont get me wrong, i did finish the series and watched it weekly thats why i still gave it a high 7. God knows there were so many shows i had to drop in the middle.
I love the way you interpret the title! That made a lot of sense and i think you are right about it (actually made more sense than the show itself).
My little issue with the whole story was actually comparing the FL with Cinderella, cause she wasnt a Cinderella character. Cinderella needed saving - she did not. Thats what i liked about the series at first. She already saved herself and didnt need a prince charming to save her. There were a lot of instances when it was implied that she worked hard, saved hereself and her brother, even bought her own house through hard work. I thought what happened after she was confronted by the chairwoman and she accepted the money was her realizing her true worth and value. She was a full character in the beginning, but after their break up her character kind of diminished, to the point where she even had to give up her identity for that brat(sorry). In the end she had to give up what she was good at and be told what to do, and she was just ok with that. This is what i dont like about the series - instead of character development she had a character regression - intead of her realizing her full potential she just accepted her fate and became his submissive wife. She hated her mother for not being able to stand to her father but in the end she became exactly like her mother and she became a secondary character to her own life. It was all under the guise of a fairytale wedding ending.
at the end of the last episode hero mentioned his dad and pops mom bought them an apartment to live in
it may have been mentioned in the last episode but the editing of this episode is so weird like it was jumping all over the place. They were already sleeping naked together in this episode, like where did that come from.
Yes, i reckon a lot of viewers will end up hating the 5 year absence. But for me, before the time jump, both Jane and Ryan, never really fully committed to each other. Ryan even said he was ready to support Jane in whatever decision he makes. My interpretation is, just when the internship is about to end both Ryan and Jane (and with each other's pushing and inspiration) are realizing what they really wanted to do - they both understood that their relationship cannot continue at that point and must come to the backseat in order for them to reach their goals. This is not a show about love - its a show about finding out what your dream is. They made no promises to each other - God knows maybe they had relationships in between those long 5 years. But what i loved is that after the 5 years, they are still inlove with each other and are both successful and is now on equal footing.
I loved the show compared to Cooking Crush but will not give it a 9. You are far too generous to this show. Something…
Hi IT thanks for letting me know how you feel about this show.
Yes, i was too generous to this show, i will admit that. And yes i did enjoy this alot more than Cooking Crush, i couldnt even finish that one.
it was maybe around mid-series when i finally accepted the fact that this is NOT an Off-Gun BL series. Once i have, i enjoyed it a lot more. A little bit of disclaimer - i dont watch a lot of straight Thai series so at first it was difficult for me to accept that Im being deceived to watch a non-BL THai drama. I know GMMTV actors oftern switch to straight and BL roles but i really loved Off Gun pairing and i came here to watch them.

you are absolutely right about this. James looks like a someone cosplaying a boss and not a very good one at that…
Im ok with slightly older people playing young people maybe upto college level, but some dramas cast mid 20s guys in high roles wearing shorts, i get so distracted by it to be honest 5555. They can play maybe younger character in flashbcks not for the duration of the show. I remembered
This is nothing against any of these actors, but I need casting directors to stop casting 20-year-olds as managers…
you are absolutely right about this. James looks like a someone cosplaying a boss and not a very good one at that and to think the story included a 5 year jump so how young was he when he became the company's boss 14 or 15?. It is almost the same as 25+ year old actors being cast as high school students who looks too old for their roles.
Thailand has so many actors so i dont know why they are miscasting actors for roles. Perth (from My Engineer would have been a perfect actor for this role if they needed someone mixed race). Maybe Mario Maurer (if he is willing to come back into the BL world)
When Man Trisanu was cast as the boss in Step by Step (I only mentioned this as it was included in the recommendations along with this page and because of his mixed race) I thought he was the perfect age believable to be a boss (sadly that show fizzled out after a few episodes and the very annoying other male lead, i dont even remember if i finished that series)
I gave it a 2.5- finally made it through- I highly recommend this for insomniacs- whenever I really couldn't fall…
Wow congrats on finishing it!!!
"whenever I really couldn't fall asleep- I'd turn this on---- magical:)". 55555. I remembered watching some of the episodes and i just couldnt really finish them cause id fall asleep halfway. Thats why i adore platforms with the speed adjusters!
very repetitive, plus the fact that it feels almost the same as Sang MIn's last series. I do like it more than…
yes it does. Although, i liked seeing the artist Seong MIn but i think he is being used just to drive the point that the 2 leads cant live without each other... we are more than halfway through it and no real progress, plus the 2 other office workers are so annoying

This is a good show, certainly better than the last few remakes we had/have in the past few months.

Im also sorry for the long reply. I understood that you were answering my question in my review about it being titled Cinderella at 2AM :)
