WTF is wrong with the writer??? From using the Holocaust for a shitty, insensitive (and completely nonsensical)…
I'm surprised netizens are not up in arms about that the Holocaust analogy. I was very uncomfortable when that joke was made. It trivialized the genocide of thousands of people. There are some things that you just do not joke about. The Trump thing I could care less about but the Holocaust thing I just could not digest.
It really broke my heart when the mc's mother advised her to keep treating her husband well in hopes that he would someday acknowledge her efforts and reciprocate. This struck me with how real the whole interaction was. The mom's advice comes from her own experience which cemented as a fact for her that she is passing on to her daughter. It was really heartbreaking to watch because the cheating aside, the mom can see that the daughter is living in an unfulfilling relationship but still tells her to shoulder on as she is now and hope for the better. It's such a difficult spot to be in. I'm sure that mom would go on a rampage once she finds out just how severely her daughter has been wronged.
I hope she puts herself first in the next episodes. Istg if the writer somehow has her end up with her husband or even hints at reconciliation with her husband in the future on the pretext of "marriage is complicated. it's not so black and white", I'm going to enlist Google Translate and leave negative comments in Korean on JTBC's page. The most bare minimum thing to offer each in a relationship is respect, the husband does not even do that. Sure he might care about her somewhat as they've shown small snippets of throughout their relationship but I've never seen him treat her with a modicum of respect, not for her thoughts, opinions, wants, or needs.
The way her whole family was nice to her on her birthday not because they wanted to show her genuine love but…
I honestly don't have a good opinion of her children. They always seem to take her for granted and prioritize their needs first. I guess she's to blame partly for that since she's been living her whole life around them and brought them up with that mentality. They've grown so accustomed to it now that even though revealing the truth would be the right thing to do they want to bury it because they want to keep up their "peaceful" lives where the mom continues to sacrifice for their happiness. The whole thing about the fact that they don't want to worsen her condition because she's sick seems like a load of crap to me. Her finding out that the whole family knew truth and helped the husband bury the affair seems a lot more detrimental to her health. If they really cared about her or her needs, they would tell her the truth.
Um, wtf was that ending?! Did the script writers just give up hope? I mean, there's a webtoon you can rely on if you need help so I can't seem to comprehend how tf they landed with this crap.
It's been 10 eps but I absolutely despise Gi young's father. I mean imagine first of all not paying your respects properly at your ex-wife's funeral, a woman at one point you loved and is the mother of your child; but also not letting her own son pay his last respects to his mother. I find that absolutely disgusting. His reason - "he's too young to experience this." Bullsh*t. If you knew the first thing about parenting, you'd realise that children are remarkably resilient but it takes a good adult/parenting to guide them to be. He's clearly not cut out for the job and therefore does not deserve sole custody of his son by cutting him off from his other blood relatives and letting his new wife managing HIS OWN kid. What a sorry excuse for a dad! P.S sorry about the immensely aggro comment. I just binged watched till ep10 and this is still quite fresh in my mind.
Where'd you read the spoilers? Could you DM a link?
Just read it...and I thought Korean were the pioneers of the makjang genre XD The plot just kept getting so absurd, I couldn't stop laughing. Thanks for sharing the link!
