Nobody is 20yrs old and has a tiny voice. You make your voice sound tiny because you are more cute and baby like…
OMG. Please tell me were all 20 y.o women have sultry deep toned voice and I will ask them to teach me their strategy. Haven’t you seen Kristen Bell or Kristin Chenoweth? I read your newer comments and gave you the benefit of the doubt that maybe Xianxia is not your cup of tea. But bruh, seeing this older comment you posted made me realize that you’re borderline troll. There are just some people that need to widen their horizons, meet new people, and remove the bias in their heads and realize that people come in all sorts of color, sizes, tone of voice, etc.

Depends on what you loved about this drama. But if you love the anti-hero ML, I recommend Love Better Than Immortality with Zhao Lusi and Li Hongyi. That drama started the anti-hero/villain love for me. They also have great bts clips.

It’s now 10 episodes so maybe Netflix is indeed dropping 2 episodes per day.

OMG. I also loved Eternal Love of Dreams more than Peach Blossoms one. Similar vibes with LBFAD in a sense that MLs are like uber powerful beings and FL are young “deities”. But the difference is That here I think ML loved FL first while in ELoD FL loved ML first.
Replying to Nam Gonzales Sep 10, 2022
The advantage of LBFAD is it’s shorter, so you don’t have to suffer waiting for so long only to have sad ending.
He resurrected. ML has immortal spirit which was stored in the ring. In xianxia, physical body is separate and can be “made” by cultivating/waiting for several years to house the spirit. Similar to how FL was resurrected faster because she is a plant spirit.

It’s now 8 episodes. Maybe they are releasing 2 episodes daily. Like how they do it on iQiyi.

- no annoying side characters (2ML is actually nice and not a psycho)
- swapping takes around 4eps out of 36 and is not the main challenge/focus of the story
- amnesia was just faked in 1-2eps just to make it easier for ML to accept FL to do her duty to save the universe including ML
- FL and ML went to the mortal world with their original memories and powers which is different from most Xianxias

PS. This is less angsty than most drama in the same genre and the drama just add to the romance betweenFL and ML

Of course y'all don't know that Esther's video crying outside the camera became #1 on hot searches for more than…
It still boggles my mind how the Haters act like only Esther has that voice. Which planet are they from that they haven’t hEard the voice of Kristin Chenoweth, Kristen Bell, etc who have naturally high pitched voices but still know how to act and modulate their voices depending on their roles.

Also there are other Cdramas where the FL VA maintained their high pitch voice from beginning to end,so it’s not as if Esther is the only one who does it. TBH LBFaD is the only drama of Esther where she useD different tones for the different character arcs.

Great rating and great reviews... But I just can deal with her baby-voice. Everything else seemed great till ep…
BG Info, the producers chose Esther specifically for her voice/personality when they watched her in Youth With You because she fit Xiaolanhua’s innocent, child-like, weak fairy persona. Imagine if she had Idina Menzel’s voice that will be more weird. Just think of Esther as having the same impish voice as Kristen Bell. Also as her character “matures” se uses a lower pitch in the later episodes.
On Love between Fairy and Devil Sep 9, 2022
Off topic but for all the Esther haters because of her voice: I am offended on behalf of all the other women in the world who have default high pitched voices and tend to ramble when excited. 😅 We were not created equal, so you may be blessed with the sultry, bedroom voice, while others like me are blessed with squeaky voices.

Also please watch until the end of the drama because it was also an artistic choice on Esther’s part to have that pitch, rambling, cute manner to depict her immaturity, naïveté, and child like weak fairy character and gradually she became more composed, thought of what she said more, and spoke in a lower pitch to show her more mature, responsible side — not saying that a person’s tone of voice is related to maturity but it makes it easier to differentiate Xiaolanhua’s personas in the show.

Like Xi Yun/Xiaolanhua, Chidi spirit is not yet complete because she hasn’t undergone her human tribulation, so they needed to protect the spirit and allow it to finish its fate in the human world, and then return to its reincarnation in the heavenly realm. They need to “kill” the matured Chidi on the actual sword in the battlefield to release the soldiers.

It is a good watch but I feel that it should have been no more than 25 episodes...it got draggy for me so I fast…
First, happy you liked LBFAD and I can understand that 36 episodes is daunting vs the usual 16-24 eps of Kdramas or the 16-24 eps of Romcom Cdramas. But this is a Xianxia, which in its genre usually has 40-58eps, so the 36 episode is actually shorter for its genre.
Second, no shame in skip but I prefer 2x speed specially since I just need the subs. #speedreading
Lastly, yes that is Esther Yu’s actual voice. Background info about Cdramas, they are usually dubbed because not all actors have “Beijing” accent which most Mainlanders understand. In this case Dylan has a Sichuan dialect/accent I believe, so he is also dubbed which is a bit different from the other VAs of other Cdramas. Esther Yu on the other hand chose to use her own voice to dub her dramas and she has since learned the “Beijing accent” to allow most Mainlander viewers to understand her. Additional background info, the producers actually chose Esther after they heard and saw her in Youth With You talent show because of her unique cute, bubbly, energetic personality. They knew that Esther’s voice would be perfect for an immature (1500 y.o. Vs 30,000y.o), innocent, naive, cute, and weak fairy. But since Xiaolanhua did get her Xi Yun identity back, Esther reduced her exaggerated reactions, controlled her speech patterns, and actually spoke in a lower pitch to show the more mature, and responsible Xi Yun without losing her femininity.

I saw some gossips and they say that li yitong is trying hard to gat this role but li yi tong is not that famous…
Maybe S+ drama for budget? But I think it was just destiny that the producers chose Dylan and Esther even though they’re not necessarily your staple lead actors.

They sure are well-matched! We need another drama from them. I think iQiYi should’ve reunite Dylan and Esther…
Have you seen the bts of Esther and Dylan with their past co-stars? After seeing Dylan and Esther’s synergy, I felt bad how they were “treated/interacted” offscreen with their other co-stars. It was like none of them could match the energy and enthusiasm of Didi and Xinxin.

I’m barely stopping myself from shipping them. But I will be content in watching them in more dramas together like Xing Zhao Lin and Liang Jie who had 4 dramas together. Fingers crossed.

Can someone recommend me dramas like this??
If you loved the anti-hero ML, try watching Love Better than Immortality with Zhao Lusi and Li Hongyi. The chemistry of the two is also great on and off screen. And DFQC is similar to Qiu Yue but of course DFQC power is more epic. But Xiaolanhua is better than Chun Hua because Xiaolanhua actually had a character arc and matured unlike Chun Hua who only found her love but never learned to sacrifice for the world.
