They needed those silk worms to make the map
Them fixing the map is not for Ziqi but for Mu Yao because it was the only time SHE KNEW the resentful woman was in her all along. Which you could already guess with the hallucinations and her amnesia after the massacre.

Finished. I think I know why the second couple has kiss scenes and the main couple does not. It's to help out…
I think the love story of the 2ML and 2FL is very in character with their demon hunter stereotype that the book “Fu Zhou” gave them. They were always meant to be the pillars of justice and uprightness that Fu Zhou envisioned so their romance feels very cold. Meanwhile Ziqi was Fu Zhou’s real self — traumatized, angry at the world, so he’s definitely more passionate in his pursuit of Miaomiao.

Genuine question... what was the grand idea for giving 2nd couple two kiss scenes and our lovely main couple none?…
I guess the OTP was just really not the main focus of the show. I haven’t read the manhua but from the plot of the drama it’s giving New Life Begins, Fangs of Fortune Ensemble cast focus with hints of LBFAD.

Like the first part was focused on Miaomiao and the last part was very Fu Zhao focused and the middle is all about the ensemble cast. They had to do this to fill in the 32 episodes. Which I’m guessing the sensors eased up on the 24ep per drama ban.

Does it mean FY helped LMM make peace with her trauma thinking it was her fault that her dad died because she…
I agree that the dad character in the book was meant for miaomiao to heal her trauma. But of course Fu zhao never intended for her to enter the online book which was all the system’s faul

They didn't even show ML at the end. So, don't expect to show Mu Yao and Fuyi as well. To the director and writer,…
I think the reason they didn’t show Fu Zhou in the end but just his voice isto give his Moyamoya disease the “impact” they wanted. Like it was some grave disease that made his parents fight and made his childhood trash and so his surgery in the end was really life threatening. And just Miaomiao hearing him call her in the end made use hopeful but at the same time appreciate what he’s been thru.

Drama that made me purchase WeTV VIP and express pass after a year of boring Cdramas**If LBFAD, New Life Begin,…
ama that made me purchase WeTV VIP and express pass after a year of boring Cdramas

**If LBFAD, New Life Begin, and Fangs of Fortune had a Baby — Love Game in Eastern Fantasy**

The last full length Cdrama that I watched completely was Love You Seven Times which I forced myself to watch because I loved the universe of LBFAD. My legit last foray into full length drama was My Journey To You because again I like Esther Yu in a different role and Zhang Linghe was ok in LBFAD but alas I got bored because even though MJTY was gorgeous it was just too dark and brooding for me. What turned me off from Cdramas is the very formulaic storyline that gets repeated for the nth time with different cast, crew, and production team. But after reigniting my fondness for Esther Yu, and watching the clips, I was finally able to go back to watching Cdrama through LGEF and yes I bought WeTV VIP and Express pass after a year of Cdrama hiatus.

**Love that Heals and Comforts**

LGEF may not be about some heroic love of the couple against the world like in LBFAD. Heck even Esther Yu and Ding Yuxi never kissed or had any passionate hugs in the whole 32 episodes, but their chemistry is just there — something warm, fuzzy, and comforting. In general I felt like the main theme of the drama is about Love that heals and comforts — love between romantic partners, friends, family members, even love for humanity in general has the ability to heal wounds and can comfort the most jaded people. The story also touched on self love which LBFAD barely went into. Every episode was unique in showing different types of love even the obsessive type.

** Story on rollercoaster with multiple savepoints**

This aspect of the drama is both its strength and weakness. Strength in that every episode is exciting even without the need to watch out for the skinship between Esther Yu and Ding Yuxi, because every episode have something that will make you cry or feel the feels. Even though the story is a bit predictable, but the dialogues and the way the characters showed their connections and relationships just made sense and made you relate to them giving justice to the Ensemble cast. There is also several mini “stories” in the drama with the first 24 episodes (if cut can be a story on its own) having a sensible overarching plot. The added episodes and plot points just added to the extensive world building in the drama connecting the book and real life. Even the songs in some episodes are neatly tide back to the beginning/end.

The con for this is that because there was a lot of exciting plot points per episode/arc, we kind of lost focus on the OTP which is Miaomiao and Ziqi. So if you’re expecting something similar to LBFAD or LYST, you will be disappointed. Even the supporting couple had more skin ship and more concrete “labelling” of their relationship than the main couple. Likewise, in the later part of the drama, the multiple save points and resets were becoming a bit too taxing. Because one moments you already cried and is happy that finally they have their happy ending and then the story then says booyah we still have a problem and then the cycle of grief and exhilaration repeats. The final ending is expected but I think the best explained one among all the book/game to real world transmigration story there is.

This drama is based on a manwha of the same name and I think the screenwriter or producer cut key scenes which…
Agreed. This key plot made the whole switcharoo more palatable.

Whatttt....noooo....i am at ep.12....ML dies ?
He did not die. IQiyi just trying to be angsty but their signature happy ending still won. He was just in treatment abroad and only came back in the end. That’s why the FL had to kiss him again to check that he was alive.

Title The Girl Who Sees Smells Spoiler
**Kiss — the warmth of love, to know the sweetness of love you need the bitterness and sourness**This quote…
IQiyi was trying to be angsty with the vague goodbyes and weird separation, but in reality the ML just had to go abroad for his treatment and he only came back healed when the FL was hospitalized. This was why the FL had to kiss him again to make sure he was real in the end.

FL mentioned this that Qingran was sending Muchen abroad to cure him. They’re just making the goodbyes vague because they don’t know if he will be cured. But they sid say that it may take a long time. Also IQIYI almost always has HAPPY ENDING dramas however vague it may be.

**Kiss — the warmth of love, to know the sweetness of love you need the bitterness and sourness**

This quote roughly describes The Girl Who Sees Smells. Like the “cheap”, simple rose wine created by the FL, the show is one of your C/D type romcom with forced skin ship. But what makes is different from the other C/D dramas that is also airing (Like Miss Chun is a Litigator), is that there’s already a spark in the first episode which continued to the next. This is why I decided to skip MCiaL and watched this instead.

The show is predominantly a romcom with “tropey, cliche” conflicts but the way the show unraveled them nicely spaced out was both entertaining and also infuriating. If the show had less “sweetness” like the kisses and romantic scenes, I wouldn’t have been able to finish it. But thankfully the sweetness was enough to dull the sour and bitter undertones that show at the end. Just remember IQIYI predominantly has HAPPY ENDING. But it depends on the director and writer if they want to be vague and angsty about it.

PS. My Take on The Ending Below — similar to the ending of Dol dol la la sol m,

Sighs, nothing comes close to SoML… that actually had so much wisdom woven in. I’m dropping this… kinda…
SoML was tame for me but I enjoyed it. But this one just — such a waste of BJT and TXW. I hope the actor for Prince Qi and Guang Jin got paid a lot more than the other actors for carrying the romance part of the show.
On Love Destiny the Movie Mar 10, 2023
I’m not really into Thai Lakorns, but atching Love Destiny The Movie in Netflix is one of the best things I did recently. The cinematography, costume, and VFX are so good! I also like the isekai, high romcom vibe and no irritating love triangle. The extras are bery few but with whatever resources they had plus the well chosen BGM, the climax of the movie wqs so well done!

Now I’m looking for the original thai drama 2018.
On Large Queen Mar 7, 2023
Title Large Queen
This is what the chemistry should have been for The Legendary Life of Queen Lau! Even though the OTP are newbie, not famous actors they had more chemistry than Li Hongyi and Jackie Lau in TLLoQL.

Drama #322: Not my cup of tea, but still barrelled through it, it became especially hard after E20 though. I need…
So Ying is the name of that irritating mary sue plot point. Aghh. I was beginning to enjoy that drama because of the budding relationship of the FL and ML but shucks they just had to pull another Tang Dynasty Tour to drag out the scene. I will probably drop it now or just skip to the parts of the 7th prince. Agghhh writers can you please stop using other women to test the feelings of the leads?!
On New Life Begins Mar 7, 2023
𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀, 𝗦𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗱𝘆… 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲

Good thing iQiyi classified this under comedy because if it was classified under romance IT WOULD BE A COMPLETE SCAM. 70% of the story revolves about court intrigue and how the women in the story always have a solution for it, 20% comedy, and 10% romance.

Bai Jin Ting and Tian Xi Wei got me to watch this but this should not even be called romance or them the main couple when the romantic scenes of all the other supporting couples are more than theirs! Their romantic scene is so little and few that even the romance of Prince Qi and Guan Jing and annoying stepsister is better. They are pulling another My Heroic Husband where the FL and the MLs scene together is so few that you’d think they’re strangers. In the MHH, the ML had more scenes with the 2FL in the second half while here the FL had more scenes with everyone else but the ML. Out of the romance only 30% of that is between the main OTP while the 70% is from all the other couple.

NLB had so much potential to be the younger version of Story of Minglan, but why did they have to take the same route as Tang Dynasty Tour?! Why? T.T I know it’s more than realistic for that time but why you gotta scar my Li Wei that way? AggH! I’m skipping the scenes now starting that episode and will just watch in normal speed if the leads are in the screen other wise NLB you are dead to me.

I don’t have a problem with the FL being a normal female using her own strengths and “street/food/farming smarts” but I have a big problem with weak ass MLs that couldn’t even do what they promised to the FL at the start. Which is why I like characters like Mo Liancheng in The Eternal Love and Dongfang Qincang in LBFAD, because they don’t let circumstances stop them from protecting their love. I would like to give plus points too to Prince Qi because even thoughe may be not be the most capable prince but he is honest about his feelings and doesn’t care if his actions will cause him a beating or two just as long as he’s protecting Guan Jing even though she’s more than capable of protecting herself physically.
