I should not have picked this up while airing…sol and sunjae are living in my mind rent free and I can’t get enough of them. I’ve been on Twitter seeing clips and screaming internally by how cute they are. I love how soft he is for her even though he puts up a front and how crazy and relatable sol is. The end of episode two had me on my knees 😭

I loved the pilot and hope it stays good…I was crying one minute and laughing the next. I’ve always loved KHY and BWS but I’m surprised how much I was able to be invested in just the first episode. For me, nothing felt wasted and the points you brought up just made me reflect more on what I like :D

Won’t lie I hope the drama is different from the webtoon because I had to force myself through the first season. I wonder if the web novel is different

It does sometimes, however I’ve come to accept most of these tropes. There are situations where it does bother me more than others, usually whenever a drama advertises itself to be something it isn’t (due to the fact that I expect certain tropes whenever preparing to watch a show, depending on how it’s presented to me in a trailer/summary/considering genres)

If I remember correctly, in the manhwa he helped her in middle school when she was locked in a bathroom stall by some awful guys in her grade. I think he wasn’t exactly into fragrances because his mom worked as a perfumer, who he has some issues with. If I remember correctly, she met his mom while attending some opening of a new perfume store, as his mom now works as some ceo of a perfume magazine that the female lead looked up to. Basically mirae acted as a mediator for mending their relationship and that’s how he fell in love with her (at least how I think he did).

My philosophy with shows is watch ones with adult characters because they behave similar to teenagers most of the time (which is closer to my age range), and avoid watching teen dramas in case of a) the teens are made to act similarly to adults (as a way to market to a bigger audience but put in more questionable themes that probably should not be present with 15 year olds as main characters) or b) making the teens act “immature”, but that actually being a guise for deeply stupid

That scene in episode two still has a chokehold on me, I hate how invested I am in this show

From what I remember from the manhwa Ji won always felt ashamed since she wasn’t as pretty and well liked by others for a long time. When Soo Min befriended her, Ji Won saw her as a savior and a truly good hearted person. It would’ve taken a good amount for her to doubt soo min anyway since she was her only significant friend.

There are a lot of moments between su yu and wu bi that feel way more intimate than they should… the way they look at each other makes me feel as if I’m intruding on them

I wonder if Michi actually loves Makoto, as it seemed to show that she still had some unresolved feelings. I’m uncertain if they actually truly love each other or if because they found solace in each other during their failing marriages , that they’re mistaking their own kinship for romantic love. There is a part of me that wants them to end up together in some capacity, but there’s also a part of me that is okay with them ending up alone. Their infidelity was not based from their own lack of intimacy in their own marriages, but rather their own neglect from their partners that had stretched to all aspects of their relationships.

My ideal ending is both of the couples splitting up and individually getting therapy. I’m fine with an open ending for Michi and Makoto, mainly because of how their relationship began (I don’t know how they’d realistically end up together at the end unless there’s a time skip and they meet again).

I don’t know how common it is in Korean society, but it’s relatively common where I come from. A mutual friend’s husband of thirty years had cheated on their wife and had another family, and she hesitated for a while before getting a divorce. Even then, she received backlash. I’ve had a few cases of this happen within my community, and it disgusts me more than what I can properly convey.

I cackled when she said how obvious it was that he cared for Dr. Cha to his face. He looked so surprised, as if anyone from a mile away couldn’t tell

This was a hard show for me to watch, specifically because of the sensitive subject at hand. Realistically, I’d hardly condone this in real life mainly because of the problematic power dynamic at play here. In real life I wouldn’t get to experience and view the world through people’s lives like this, in the lens of a visual piece of media. However, when I have a clear view on how the characters think, what they’re thinking, and how they handle their life, I am inclined to want to root for them. Because I am able to see the world through their light, I can better view the dynamic of their relationship and how they treat each other— a closer look than I’d usually have. In this show it was handled realistically, and I could see how the love was portrayed between the two leads—it was unconditional.
