@kobeno1 Another great review! I LOVED this drama, and was hoping that Lee Do Hyun would win some awards. He was…
Thank you! I'm sorry about your mother. I lost my father when I was 19, so I know how painful it can be. Yes, this series was extremely well done, and I agree about Lee Do Hyun! Yes, grief is a healthy thing that many people don't allow themselves.
Thank you! I know this is a controversial series for some. I found it endearing.
"Hidden Love" is well done because it's balanced, for one thing. I did review it just a couple of days ago. "Our Beloved Summer" is a fantastic young couples romance. Most of the shows in this category are "okay" or "good" at best, from what I've seen. These two are excellent! I do have "Romance is a Bonus Book" on my list. It's funny...for every K-Drama I watch, I find four more to watch! Right now, I'm watching "Welcome to Samdal-Ri" and "When I Fly Towards You."
I dropped American shows completely about a year ago. I find K-dramas to have much higher quality in story, characterization, and acting overall.

Well said. I'm 52 and can't even imagine a relationship with someone in their twenties. When I was in China seven years ago, they would say, "It's okay!" Well, it wasn't okay with me. I know it's cultural, but there it is.
I also believe that Iko went back to where Wako was living. Despite the age-gap, he had a profound connection with her, which is something far more rare than most people realize. Whether or not their romance picked up where it left off, I don't know. Part of the problem is that Iko still has to grow up, and we know that people often change when this happens.
However, I just finished "Hidden Love" about a middle school girl who falls in love with a boy who's five years her senior. It ended up being one of the sweetest, "young couples" love story I've seen. Only, "Our Beloved Summer" might be better.
um what happened to the rating??? is the ending that disappointing damn
No, the ending is about as typical and predictable as you can imagine. Probably because it's been done to death. Overall, this series started out fairly strong and limped to the finish line. This plot has been done to death, and other romantic dramas "My Business Proposal" "Touch Your Heart" "Our Beloved Summer" "Love to Hate You" and a few others are vastly superior to this travesty of a series. Then again, don't take my word or anyone else's. Watch it and find out for yourself.
That's too bad. While it wasn't the worst romantic series I've seen, it was far from the best. "Business Proposal" was far superior, as was "Our Beloved Summer," "Touch Your Heart" and far inferior to such hits as "Mr. Sunshine" and "Descendants of the Sun." This series was largely disappointing, especially given the expectations and hype. Frankly, I expected a lot better than what we got.
While turning in a "decent" performance in "King the Land" this woman needs some acting lessons. She does all right playing the wallflower role, something that is always unappealing and unattractive. However, this woman is like a Jekyll and Hyde actress. She's either upbeat, bubbly, and warm, or she's cold, rude, aloof, and indifferent. She has no other "speeds" which is why her range isn't very good. She has no clue how to build up a scene. She can only hit one button or the other, which really hurts her performance. Episode 15 is a perfect example of this where she goes from warm and sweet to cold and indifferent in a matter of seconds which is highly unrealistic and not believable. I would have preferred seeing a much more seasoned actress in this role (Bo Young Park, Shin Hye Sun, or any other actress with the emotional range). She was a big disappointment and a big reason (although not the only one) why the series is flat because Lee Jun Ho is basically forced to carry the load. I will certainly make sure not to watch this actress in anything else in the future.
The series wasn't very good, and neither was her acting skills. She was better in Awaken. There were far better performances this year from actresses in other series, which makes me believe that something is seriously wrong with LA WEBFEST. Figures since I've never even heard of them.
Okay, this immensely talented actress is blowing my mind. I was impressed with her role in "Stranger." I was captivated by her role in "Hymn of Death," and now, she shows off amazing comedic chops in "Mr. Queen" (I'm 3 episodes in and can't get enough!). She's got me roaring with laughter. She's got the skills of a Lucille Ball! She's THAT good! Wow! From dramas to comedies, I KNOW this actress can literally do anything!
Seems to do better in more of a supporting role, like in "Awaken." Was not impressed at all with her acting chops in "Summer Strike," and she had zero romantic chemistry with Si Wan Yim. Wish they would have picked a better and more capable actress for this role.
“Children of a Lesser God” and “Yoo Na's Street” are two of the very best I have seen. If you can find…
Thank you very much for the recommends. Unfortunately, only Arthdal Chronicles is available on Netflix right now, but I will keep a lookout for those other two that you mentioned! I appreciate it!
Trying to figure out how I went 6+ years of watching K-dramas and have only now come across this multi-talented actress?! Only three episodes into Love to Hate You, and man, she's exquisitely wonderful! What a talent! Haven't laughed so hard since Hospital Playlist! Thankfully, Netflix has the Arthdal Chronicles! Needless to say, I'll be watching that series next!
