This is such a good concept, with so many interesting themes but oh my so much wasted potential. The characters, the plot I can almost see where they wanted to go what they wanted to do and say but it's like they had an accident before reaching there and my heart hurts. And I'm sure the actors are up to the challenge and would have shown so bright if their character were written a little bit better. I think I'm going to write a review at what missed opportunity this was to be great compelling show.
I've just got one question. What the f happened to Andy's arc? It just fizzeld out? like oh he is in love now so his motivation and agency can be swept under the rug to make room for what exactly? We see no resolution after what happened at the manga competition, he failed so I wondered what comes after? what is he gonna do? which path will he take? but no he just goes to ryo and atarts a relationship. for real? And what about his stage fright? your telling me it got cured when he was thinking about ryo and never mentioned again? My head hurts. bad.
it's good I personally like it but it was kind of luckluster. Didn't send my blood rushing. From the trailer I expected more action? At least more vigilante escapades. Also as a visual media trying to deal with these topics they should have shown more than told. We were told about the state of the country instead of being shown,which drastically reduces the impact of your message and most of the time you just feel as if your in a lecture. The back ground music stood out to me a lot while watching this, I wondered if they couldn't find Thai songs to fit the mood they were going for or was is copyright issue. All in all I loved the performances of the actors, and their some of their character arcs. Except there was no resolution btn white and his father after storming out. And what about black and his father? did he disown him as his mother did? we weren't told if he went to visit him at the hospital while in a coma it's like they completely forgot about him as soon as white leaves the house.
oh we getting love triangles now? All in all this was boring. Nothing new. The icing on the cake were the characters. they had the personality of unseasoned boiled white chicken. who wrote this and why?
After watching a couple of crappy ones this one is a real solid. One that just sends butterflies in your tummy. It's a friends to enemy to lovers, soulswap, spiritual roadtrip of discovery and growth. And oh the food, got me craving so bad. This one is sure to put a smile on your face after some hurt of course, but how can you know happiness without some dosage of sadness.

My heart. Started this at around 9pm thinking I would watch one or 2 episodes before sleeping ended up binge watching the whole thing. I can't compare btn season one and two cuz to me it's a continuation of a story. while season one was about a story of two seamingly incompatible people finding each other and falling in love. In this season we start of with a break up, and we get a deeper dive into their psyche, who they are and why they become the way they are. They are not perfect individuals each one carrying their own unresolved baggage, one more than the other. which even though they love each other has put a strain on their relationship. I can write paragraph upon paragraph at just what we'll written well paced well performed character driven romance drama this is. But it is late and I need to sleep. I loved it, made me tear up, heart ache and in the end smiling like an idiot.
This hit a bit hard for me, especially with Akira's character. The social expectations put on an individual and how you are supposed to toe in line with them. even though I thought he was a selfish b*stard for what he did to Yuki and Yuki absolutely forgave him to soon I still understand him. I understand why he did what he did. Fear is such a terrible thing and he has lived with it, all his life the fear of not being "normal". And normal is being or doing what the majority is. Since we are young it's drilled in us to be normal and how being anything other is punished by ridicule, isolation and even mental and physical violence. But there are billions of us in the world, as much as we have what makes us similar there is so much more which makes us unique. what pains. me in this is that they lost 8 years together. Years that they could have been happy but lost to pain and regret.
I reached the breakup scene and just had to stop. Are you kidding me?Your telling me that Li gong is going to do the same thing the Zeshou mother's did to him? leave him when he needed him the most? especially since he knew just how it messed him up? Even though Li gong has the personality of white paint oh lord is he bland but I have been let to believe that he is the more emotionally intelligent of the two and the fact that he had loved Ze shou for what I think is about a decade would he really leave him? and in such a way? I could understand why yuki and the baby daddy seamed to break up. understandable communication issues but with Zeshou and Ligong ? writers wtf?my pet peeve in any romantic drama is a forced breakup. I was laughing my ass of at the farewell scene. Mandarin duck wings and a rabbit vs chicken wings and a rat. The scene was just so effortlessly funny. then all that to have a 180° turn in EP the next episode. Having the favor of the emperor is such a rewarding and dangerous thing at the same time. one moment one moment your in-laws with the emperor drinking wine at your daughters betrothal aamd next your whole family in the dungeons facing clan extermination all because of someone's hate and conspiracy. I really do think that the fact that the Cheng family is not from nobility and there rise to be said to be related to the emperor by marriage will have rubbed a lot of people especially the nobility the wrong way. And even though it was LBY who chose her the hate is still going to fall on the Cheng family. upstarts from humble beginnings who swing to align themselves way above their station. It doesn't matter if they have bled for the country.
the king has a little bit to much interest in the love life of his adopted son. And I agree with consort Yue his talents are wasted as an emperor. And how I love consort Yue's character. I love her so much. She is fearless, and just. And her tongue, oh her tongue that is sharper than a blade, it can cut down someone in mere seconds.
EP 36, wow. I love it soon much. I hardly have favorite episodes and such but this was for the the best o all I've seen so far. LBY is always so serious that he gives of this mature aura and in this episode him with CSS this soft innocence was visible. I was reminded that LBY was just a young person in his early twenties who was forced to grow up so fast, I felt a childish even glee coming from his interaction with CSs and my heart melted for him. On another side CSS the poor girl, She really thought she was going to die and when she saw BuYi. she just let her self be vulnerable. she trust him enough to be that way with him. And the chemistry. it was slow in coming but it hit hard. can't wait for more. there's a lot to say about the parent child dynamics in this drama. but today my comment will focus on Leo Wu and Zhao Lusi acting. they are delivering.
Same same same question over and over, why is Pan'er expected to know how much Yinzhang is in love with Qianfan…
maybe that's gonna be her character flaw. she falls in love easily. Or maybe she falls for those in a position of power to change her status. because even though she has decided to accept her status as a performer she still doesn't want that brand and even more so how she is treated by society. No one would, fame not withstanding.
going through my drama list and I do remember watching this while it aired. didn't know why I didn't add it at that time. I thoroughly enjoyed it. the thought that was prevalent in my mind was oh we can get soft spoken strong female leads. Yes she is kind but no she isn't a push over. And no she isn't dumb. she know what she wants and goes after it. Now the male lead was an aqured taste I got used to him and got endeared by him. now the 2nd male and female lead not so much. they could have been written off and I wouldn't care. personally I watched this cuz I love books and I know it's not a real life depiction but I really wanted to get a glimpse about the behind the scenes of publisher's. All in all watch and make your own judgement.
