Drama lover

it was an open secret. everyone knew that they were together. Maybe they didn't want to tell her because they knew about her crush and didn't want to hurt her? they treated her like a breakable vase.
cuz I do believe that if she had known from the beginning, (I mean she had already began to develop some type o feeling for Qian fan even before he got with Pan er.) she would have gone with Shen for fear of betraying Pan er and having feelings for her future brother in law?
so I'm just wondering if it's a one of those inexcapable plot holes that shows that writers can be human and nothing can be 100%perfect.
or just blame it on the flaws of Sanniang and Pan er treatment of Yin Zhang.

I'm here again still thinking about the events of episodes 25/26. All the time I was wondering and I couldn't understand how Pan Er didn't know that Yinzhing liked Qian fan considering how smart and perceptive she is. turns out I was the one who didn't catch on. She knew since when Qian fan gave Yin Zhang the score. I remember how she told Qian fan that yin Zhang adored him and how Qian fan said that he couldn't handle her adoration and how he preferes Pan Er. I guess that's why they were so vested in Yinzhing getting with the Shen guy. They wanted her to get over her crush? but then I wondered why didn't they just tell her about what was going on btn them? then I remembered how everyone knew without being told. even the new waitress Zhao do knew. I guess that's why she asked Sanniang that Yinzhang couldn't be that stupid, turns out she was.
Or was it just Yin Zhang's ego and inflated sense of importance that she believed that two men would be nice and want her and she could choose? or was she just blind and saw what she wanted to see?
All in all the characters are really interesting. And what I like about this is they show a lot more than tell. We as the audience are not told that she is smart we are shown that she is with her actions and more than that we are also shown her flaws and how she tries to get over them. like how she apologies to Sanniang for not informing her about her plans when she felt something was wrong when that guard wanted to frame her and Qian fan.
We need more dramas like this were we can delve into a characters psychology. thoroughly enjoying this and fingers crossed and praying that this goes on till the end.
Rooting for Qian fan and his father's relationship. Just a joy watching how that has progressed. Now I'm wondering if Pan Er knows or suspect the relationship between them.

I finished this drama. That's all I can say. it wasn't bad person but it wasn't good. I guess I can put the blame on the writing? that ending was terrible and rushed. it left a bad taste in my mouth. I finished the drama and was like wait, that's it?
endings are always a hit or a miss for me and this one was a miss.

it's been a while since I have been at the beck and call of a drama. waiting as the episodes drop. the chemistry btn the leads. the raport btn Pan Er and her friends, and btn GQF and his father. the cinematography an. the care of the little details.
the superb work of the actor.
For this work I'm also reminded at how a director has a huge role to play in a good piece of visual media. I remember director yang yang was in ever ight S1. I fell in love with that drama especially the fight. scene which were so we'll done. happy to see another work of hers. can't wait to see more

I love this drama, I'm here wondering why does it have an 8.2? like how? it has solid character, amazing performances and the cinematography is excellent.
And the cherry on top is the chemistry btn the main leads. like I haven't felt and wanted two characters to be together as much as I have for these two.
I want more of them.

How I wish they could release all the subbed episodes in part 1 in one go. But I know that will never happen. I'm hopping they don't release one episode per day.

I don't understand it's a Dilraba drama. They have to know just how many international fans she has. Why are there no English subs? And this one has Dilraba and Allen Ren. Like come on youku. Why?

I finished this drama wanted to give up a couple of times ut I soldiered on till the end. Why? I love Xian Xia and was hoping it got better but....

For this drama personally
1. I'd have to agree the characters were.......something,how the were written, they were not clear like you couldn't get a handle at who a character is. What motivates them they just flip flop in and out of the plot, also how they were portrayed out of all of them I guess ye Cheng really gave us something.
2. The story, it had potential.
But plot point just didn't make sense, set up and pay off was terrible, resolutions of events. Especially the death of a character really isn't done well. Cause and effect of some events just left me confused. Plot points weren't really explained.
3. The pacing, O M G. How do you wait until halfway through the drama for the all important quest to save the world to start half way through the drama. It didn't need to be 43 episodes. 24 at most. A lot of time was waisted on mere nothing.
And the editing, it was confusing most of the time, like you don't know what's happening.
And the ending. Not going to elaborate on that.
Those are a couple of hrs I'm not getting back.

How to go on from this. Finished watching it but it's still on my mind.

She was spectacular.

Binged watched the final episodes, And I ugly crying. I can't handle tragedies very well. But I could not help my self and watched this.
Bai lu is one of my favorite c actress she is so talented and does so well with different characters she is given. This was also superbly done. I saw shiyi blossom from a timid girl to a strong woman full of curiosity and life. We kind of go a glimpse of the life she would have had being free in the western state thus seeing her life drain away and what followed after even more tragic.
I also like Allen Ren, though I think they are type casting him he still carries his characters well. I'm gonna miss the prince of Nanchen. He gave his all to the country the promises and vows he made all didn't save him. All to be branded a traitor? What? How I wish he had committed treason and had usurped the throne at least he would have been with the one he loved.
I liked the Queen, yes she was an evil, manipulative snake but she owned it. Her end was satisfying. And the actress playing her delivered.
Now Liu zixing. I really hated him and by default the actor playing him did his work right. other than kill the man who he called uncle who really wouldn't have harmed him I hated him for stifling the life out of shiyi. He caused her death. He really deluded him self into believing that she would marry the man who killed her beloved? I would have wanted him to be drawn and quartered instead of dying in his bed.
Cui Feng, gen Hong had been done dirty again. I was waiting for a fcking wedding from those two. They took that from us.
All in all the writing, directing, cinematography was just amazing. The costumes were breath taking.Id recommend it to all.
Now waiting for the second installment forever and ever.

Up to ep 16 and oh the Queen, when she planned on killing her son I was damn she is evil. But when she decreed shiyi be his adopted daughter I thought wow she is evil incarcerated. She is one smart, manipulative, cruel queen who really has screwed over those who helped her if you look at it. Granted they are a threat to her greed for power so I really wonder how this plays out for her. She plays this persona of a weak party loving dowager queen with nothing to with her time all the while sharpening her fangs and ready to strike. She doesn't care who she tramples. But the fact that most of his desciples are somewhere else doesn't bode well for my dear Prince of Nanchen.

This is a gem. A true hidden gem. A true definition of a romance comedy. I found my self laughing one minute and all up I'm my feels the next. And even the supporting characters had an arc? There not there just to prop up the main couple? They actually grow? And I guess the best was Li tian redemption arc.
O watched this with really not much expectations but come out satisfied. The female lead was really relatable to me and I guess that's why I love it even more.

Just finished e 14 and damn. I usually stay away from drama with the they will never end up together dramas one of the reasons why I haven't watched promise of chang'an. But l guess I watched this knowing that even if I get my heart broken they will end up together in the next life.
And oh how the main leads have been done dirty, everyone and O mean everyone can see their feelings for each other. And them starting to acknowledge that, knowing that they can't be together but still not letting go of their feelings, and the dram giving us hope that maybe their is a small chance? Something can happen? I mean the engagement got cancelled so maybe?.........
Then I remind my self that if that was the case then there wouldn't be a second season in another life.
But really the ones who need another chance like seriously are general Feng and Hong. How they did them dirty, and it just came out of nowhere? Like I was happy for a sec after that engagement cancelation when I knew an exchange had to be done and they hit me with this.
Just talked about the relationship and nothing about the characters gonna do that once I finish the drama.

I don't think he was in a position to help her when they were young. He was already walking on egg shells at the house at that time. But on the other hand I think if she was a bit genuine towards him and didn't set him up then maybe. The thing with Yo Han is he pays kindness with kindness and evil with evil.

I love her. Her anger when looking with the lens of her past is justified. She has been stepped on all her life and she didn't want to be a victim especially in a world where victim aren't seen much less able to get justice. She is a manipulative murderous b*tch but she did that to survive. She had to be strong and use everything and everyone to become strong because she saw that the weak just kept being trampled on and destroyed.

Lovely writer was just lovely written. Is it perfect? By no means no. But I really really like the subject matter of this series. Some fans can't seam to draw the line btn fiction and real life. And it can be damaging to the actors real life. Also I loved how they handled the family finding out. I just love how the families and their dynamic were written over all.The character that cought my attention the most, Aey. He is one mess of a character and I loved him. I don't mean to psychoanalyze but he showed the tell tell signs of depression. After what happened to him it's understandable. The scene when he was smiling on the live and then when it ended he looked at his room and just broke down. That really hit a little bit close to home. He had what he wanted adoration from fans but in the end he was alone. Would have loved for them to explore more of his character on a mental health perspective but I don't think the writers were going in that direction.
Also loved the Hin and Tum side story, Hin with his writing and wanting a better life and Tum with his sister and wanting autonomy. They had a story other than the leads. Just sad Tiffy didn't have more plot. I mean come on,You have a bad ass bi woman bad don't do more with her? Would love more of her back story.The ending scenes were just hilarious. I hope they had fun doing them.

Oh I forgot the FL Nick name. That could be it.

What I meant is the FL/ ML is supposed to fall into the smile of the other. I thought that there was going to be a cheerful character.
An example would be miss Crow and mister lizard the FL had a beautiful smile that the ML and we the audience fell for.

Just one question who's smile are we falling into here? The MLs? There is none, the FL? Where?
