I'm not familiar with other idols, but didn't most of them start out as supporting cast?
I don't feel that Snowdrop will be the drama to showcase Jisoo's acting talent. Me personally, I am not feeling any real emotion from her acting yet.
And the overacting and caricaturization of the other character and their acting is not my favorite. And to be honest, even with all this, I feel the cast is way too big, that I am losing track of who is who. I also felt it ridiculous how everyone just had to related. The seamstress just had to be the wife of the ANSP chief?
And as for IU, she didn't start out good, she had to do a few starting roles, but really broke out in her Kdrama My Mister.
To expect Jisoo to be at the level of IU is a bit of stretch. I mentioned once that her mannerism reminded me of Suzy, but I wasn't meaning it as a compliment.
Just watching Jisoo on her acting alone, I feel she is trying too hard as compared to the rest of the cast, but that is expected being a rookie.
I still don't understand the Joseon Exorcist one, it didn't feel like a big thing at all. I recently watched America:…
AFAIK, South Korea has a long way to go in terms of the #metoo movement. South Korea and Japan are huge offenders when it comes to sexual discrimination.
The double standard on males and female there are so staggering. It's ironic don't you think how different their Kdramas are from their actual society?
I was introduced to the toxicity of Knetz with Seo Ye Ji, and it felt like a glass shattering moment. Their kdrama are so romantic and lovely, and to know that the underlying belly of South Korean society is filled with so much fakeness and toxicity, has pulled back some of my enjoyment from watching Kdrama to be honest.
To be fair, Sun ho is just using young ro, and young ro is incredibly smitten at the moment. So it's a one sided…
In Ep. 2 Sun Ho's comrade can be seen outside the dormitory, most likely to save Sun Ho the team leader.
I understand that he wouldn't want to let them know he is an actual spy, thus he is not correcting them when they assume he is a student protestor. When he said comrade, I think it just slipped.
We don't know at this point what is Sun Ho's plan, or why they are targeting professor Han and etc..
Up to this point it's all assumptions.
But one thing is clear, at this moment, he has very little feelings for Young ro, while she is clearly writing his name a thousand times in her love diary. As the episodes progress, I am sure that will change.

He clearly is.
It became the most clear when he ask her for the map of the building. And Young Ro, suspiciously ask why, and he says so that he would know how to escape.
He also, almost say's he needs a newspaper and radio to check on his comrades, but changes his words to friends instead.
I think Sun Ho knows Young Ro is smitten with him, and he is using it to his advantage.
I blame JTBC not securing a contract with Netflix. Disney+ was a poor choice, since Disney+ isn't even in a lot…
Disney+ due to lagging subscriptions, have finally conceded that Asia is a vital piece of the expansion puzzle. Starting the next few years, they are planning on rolling out in more countries in Asia, and concentrating a sizable chunk of funds into developing their own original content, and licensing popular shows.
I hope, for their sake, they have ZERO meddling in this, because the Disney brand has been known for dialing up the political correctness all the way up. Still remember the travesty that is Mulan?
To be fair, Sun ho is just using young ro, and young ro is incredibly smitten at the moment.
So it's a one sided thing, so possibly intentional. If they eventually do become a couple and we see the same lukewarm chemistry, then yes you would be correct.
I think he is a fake North Korean spy. Which means he is most likely being used by the South Korean government.
ahh, so he and his comrades are all north korean defectors then.
I find this the wrong way to go. Have you read much about north korean defectors? In South Korea, many people are very mistrustful of them, and they are treated like second class citizens. There are even people who feel these north korean defectors are actually spies.
In fact there have been a few movies of NK defectors being actual double agents.
I feel sad that north and south are only separated by 67 years since korean war, but the two countries are so vastly different, and a truce seems impossible at this moment.

I recently watched America: The Motion Picture, and there was all sort of historical distortion and what not, but nobody cared.
JTBC should have learned that Knetz are crazy sensitive and given Jisoo and Haein a better drama to debut with.
If it does get cancelled, which I highly doubt, the blame falls solely on JTBC.

You see a huge difference in maturity between Young Ro and Sun Ho, which makes sense given their age gap, and the fact he is a spy.
I imagine this is the chemistry we would see if James Bond and Hermione ever got together :)

There goes my risky click of the day...

Truck protesting is a thing in Korea.
I've already blocked 10 people in this comment section, and I am happier for it.
8.2/10
Still waiting for the next 3 episodes.
