I heard that the production team meet the group (Global Citizen Declaration) and already apologise w the misunderstanding.…
What I find interesting is there is rumour the ANSP in the next few episodes are going to be portrayed very poorly. So this is the "clearing up of controversy" that they appear to be talking about.
The conflicting thing here is that the current president is from the opposition of the modern ANSP party, and presidential elections are literally right around the corner.
If this was America, this would be a clear move by the democrats to paint the republicans in a bad light months before an election.
even if misunderstandings are cleared up in the next 3 eps like jtbc said, there are still high chances for snowdrop…
even if they do decide to cancel it, the show is done filming already. So it's just a matter of time before it get's released.
It would be different if this was a live filming and if they get cancelled they would lack the funds to finish the rest of the episodes. This is not the case here.
I don't think that NSA girl know the students are faking it
Right right, my mistake, I just rewatched it your right.
Still doesn't explain why she doesn't see the trail of blood especially when her eyes look downwards several times.
Jisoo's eyes even looks down like twice.
In general the ANSP seem incompetent and not up to snuff of what a spy agency should be.
Like how can they not pat down the NK prisoner, who similar to Russians have kill pills? That's got to be spycraft 101. If you rewatch the scene, he had the kill pill in the palm of his hands.
I suspect the girl is a NK spy, even during the chase of Ep. 1, the only person who doesn't fire at sun ho is her.
I have a feeling that one of them die and the other one kill him/herself after.
Romeo and Juliet then?
Hopefully no suicide.
It's just that sun hoo has just been extremely lucky in the past 2 episodes. Like he is always barely escaping, and from other movies.ive seen like this, sometimes your luck just runs out.
And maybe young ros last act of love is to get sun hos.sister out of North Korea.
I didn't understand this part, did she accept his proposal, or was it just a gift, or did she just yoink the ring?…
I did some research, the uniform that man was wearing is that of the police actually. At first I thought it was army, but it's actually a police uniform in 1980's
Your right, it probably should not have been made. The political aspect doesn't enrichen or add anything to the…
What is there to get?
You want people to stop watching so they can save their souls.
You equate watching and enjoying the show, even promoting it as equal to ignoring the lives that was lost during this time.
I am saying watching it does not mean you are not sensitive to people's plight.
Lots of biographies and documentaries out there. Michael Moore made a highly controversial documentary called Bowling Columbine. Should people not watch it since it's not sensitive to the children who died that day?
it's actually drumming up more publicity, which equals more buzz, and more people may watch it out of curiousity.…
What about the portrayal of the North Koreans do they do not agree with?
It's a Kdrama, so a lot of creative licenses will have been taken. Unfortunately the complete truth is rarely exciting, so movies/dramas always have to make it more exciting.
They aren't selling a documentary but rather a KDrama, I don't think JTBC is going for factual accuracy.

First off, propaganda is very subtle now. so most people probably don't even know they are being immersed in it. Having said that, people's attention spans have been getting shorter and shorter each generation, and Snowdrop is just literally just one more drama in a list of drama most people want to watch.
They are not watching Snowdrop with full intention of moving to South Korea and join the Democratic Part of Korea. For most people, it's just pure entertainment. Just like Ip Man is just a kung fu flick.
If you read the comments, you can tell that most people are focusing on the romance of Jung Hae In and Jisoo, and actually don't actively talk about the historical/political arcs, which means they are supporting the love couple rather than the plot.
I wasn't in this comment section from the beginning, but apparently there were a few people spamming and rehashing misinformation that eventually riled up and exasperated drama watchers who didn't want to know any of it, or just wanted to enjoy the drama.
Is their reaction immature? Yes of course it is, but everyone has their breaking point I guess.
I mention the propoganda a few times, as well as the possible issues of the drama, but I choose not to repeat myself constantly because there is no point. I am not aiming to change people's conviction, but rather just to make them aware that there is controversy in this drama for a reason.
After watching 2 episodes, I also agree that the underlying issues were not fixed. But it does me no good to fret and worry about something I have no control of. And it is not good of me to shame people for their watching choices, or to dictate what feelings they should have.
I am just a humble MDL commenter :)
NK spies who are being manipulated by SK and NK?
SK government higher ups?
ANSP?
Kind of confused if we are suppose to sympathize with the NK spies or not.
What purpose it has to reopen old wounds? I don't know, but maybe it will increase nationalism in South Korea the same way Ip Man did for chinese.

Also notice the hair of the girls are perfectly normal.
Plus based on the conversation she was plenty suspicious and her eyes kept looking down, yet didn't notice the blood.
Something is off with Jang Hanna. Either she's a spy, or bad at her job.
In same episode the nk spy eats cyanide, all 3 men try to get him to spit it out, she just stands there. Possible she slips the prisoner the cyanide.
I would have preferred her parents be some poor family and she is on scholarship.
A bit of a disconnect I feel.
Hopefully no suicide.

Either both FL and ML will be alive but back to respective countries.
Or Sun ho will die.
Would be a stronger ending
Let's ask though, what is the angle of the writer? He must have known somehow his work would be controversial.
Imagine if I make a statement like.
"Women do not make good CEOs"
Controversial right?
And even before I am given the chance to use evidence backed statistics and show I am not sexist, I have already been cancelled.
See the point? Why take all this risk? Seems like lack of foresight.
He will probably at one point be pursuing Soo ho.
I thoroughly enjoyed the movie City of Life and Death, and it was super controversial, but amazing.
It's not the same...

That is not the crux of democracy.
