The old man earned respect when he asked for a truce, if he hadn't started changing after meeting his grandson…
I felt sorry for NDY in the end. In fact, I felt that he should have died after being absolved of TJ's accusation. But it was allegorical that he died so PP can live. He and TJ prayed to exchange their lives for PP. In the end, his prayer was the one granted.
Tan Jing was so broken by what happened to her dad she had a hard time getting past her hatred. However, I think…
That's a very good point. I think SZJ's desolation stemmed from a variety of reasons: his love for TJ, knowing that TJ still loves NYS and his infertility. No matter how much he would want to be TJ's husband for real, it is that same love that prevents him from fulfilling his wish. He loves TJ too much to make her marry him for real considering his condition. This is probably what drove him to drink. He is the most selfless character. So pitiful.
What a great healing drama! It effectively illustrates how love triumphs over hate. It shows the misery hatred inflicts on the hater and those around her/him. Bearing a grudge makes one selfish and immature; letting go of hatred is the ultimate act of selflessness and maturity.
What raises this drama above others of its ilk is the topnotch acting not only of the leads but of the supporting cast as well. This drama also keeps the story plausible. TJ does not miraculously get rid of her hatred. In fact, her struggle can be frustrating when one forgets the trauma she suffered 7 years ago. Her path to healing is slow and rocky but, propped up by unconditional love from NYS, PP and friends, she triumphs.
Likewise, SFT is not miraculously healed of hatred. As NDY wrote SQ, it could take SFT a while to heal. But SFT's loneliness when he achieves his revenge goal indicates he is on his way to recovery.
A lot of people complained about this too. That they waited so long for this pair to reunite and they were cheated.…
i am confident they will last. NYS has enough love and maturity for both of them :) And she has matured in the last few episodes, trusting NYS more, warning him about SFT and keeping PP's shares in the Nie family.
Tan Jing was so broken by what happened to her dad she had a hard time getting past her hatred. However, I think…
True, TJ let hatred consume her and her love for NYS, even her love for PP. The drama painfully showed how love triumphed in the end.
I think SZJ just wanted to be with her and did not expect to be loved in return. He was the most pitiful character in the drama. But he is most probably happy in heaven knowing his death served a purpose in filling a hole in TJ's heart and paving a better life for PP.
Lol, TJ and SML would have destroyed each other, both consumed with hatred. NYS and SQ, both loving and more mature than they are, are their perfect partners.
I agree. That the audience feel so strongly about the characters is a testament to how good the drama is.
Tan Jing was so broken by what happened to her dad she had a hard time getting past her hatred. However, I think…
I think SZJ wanted and needed to be with her and PP. If she had cut him off, he would have been devastated. I just wish she was as considerate to NYS. Breaking up with NYS again was too cruel after knowing what he went through. But that is what I admire about this drama; it stays true to the characters and really shows how destructive hatred is. It will be noted, it never occurred to TJ that she was wrong in blaming NDY for what happened. So for her, her hatred of the Nie family was warranted.
TJ is a broken woman and yes, keeping a grudge like that, not to mention being a mom while stripped of the security of her youth - her dad gone, her home gone - would retard her maturity. Towards the end, with the help of love from NYS, PP and her friends, she finally healed.
A lot of people complained about this too. That they waited so long for this pair to reunite and they were cheated.…
Two kids? That would have been adorable! How could they rob the audience of that scene?!?!?
Please, please producers, have another season or at least a special season to tie up loose ends and settle the war between the scriptwriters. And to feature a song by Wallace.
She never stopped loving him yet anything can come between them. This went downhill midway as soon as ML found…
Tan Jing was so broken by what happened to her dad she had a hard time getting past her hatred. However, I think she had started to heal towards the end. Even before the truth absolving NDY came out, she might already have started to forgive him, otherwise, she would not have attended his funeral; she could have just asked NYS to play Pingping's eulogy instead.
The article voices what I think about Sheng FangTing's mom and anybody else who makes the mistake of being the other woman. Why would they even expect the man to have time for them? Especially with NDY, he did not even have time to spare for NYS, how much more his extra family? Passing the hatred to their children is a tragic consequence of other women's mistake but they only have themselves to blame.
How I wish Wallace Chung sang a theme for this drama, and that it was played at the end while they were having a photoshoot instead of the oft-repeated phrase "All is well", or will be played in a special episode where the fates of all leads, including second leads, are given clear closure. This great drama deserves a scene featuring Pingping as a ring bearer at his parents' wedding.
I agree, the rating should be much higher. I've just been wondering about the ratings in this site. I noticed…
So far, mature audiences (25 and higher) make up the bulk of raters for this drama (~70%). Compare this to raters of Falling Into Your Smile which is geared toward a younger audience where @75% of raters are under 25 years old giving a rating of 8.7. Might this indicate that a mature rater is likely to rate a drama he/she likes lower than a young viewer would rate a drama he/she likes? In any case, I don't understand the 8.2 rating for this drama, since most of the ratings in any age group are above 8.35 with almost 30% averaging 8.7; only about 3% rated this at 8
This drama gives me all the feels. It deserves a much higher rating.Few points I would like to highlight:** Story…
I agree, the rating should be much higher. I've just been wondering about the ratings in this site. I noticed that dramas that appeal to young audiences usually have higher than expected ratings while those that are geared for more mature audiences have lower than expected ratings. Perhaps this site has more young viewers? Or perhaps young viewers tend to give higher ratings than mature viewers?
And when TJ will tell him that they were never married...It is frustrating at thus point that she still tells…
When she told SQ she is married, I thought she was referring to her marriage with NYS (at least to herself). But that's one thing I can't understand, if she and NYS are really married, why would NYS think she was married to SZJ?
'Love the scene in episode 27 where NYS and TJ attended a dinner party with business partners. They looked like a power couple; he was happy and handsome; she was beautiful and elegant; they were attentive and loving to each other. I hope this is a foretaste of their future
I totally agree. I think her actions make perfect sense.
Allowing joint custody of her child is not giving him away. If she has no other option, what she is doing - living frugally to save up for his operation - is perfectly fine. However, she has an option. Yusheng and his dad both love the child and would surely provide him with whatever he needs
EP24 was very emotional!!! That rain scene and the relief on NYS's face when TJ said she never stopped loving…
i cried so hard when the train in his nightmare stopped at the red light, indicating his sanity came back. what a powerful way to take viewers into the mental and emotional state of someone overcoming mental regression
I am hopeful SQ and SFT will get back together.
