I'm following the shooting news, and I somehow feel connected to this little show already!!! I wished I had known about it during the original Tw drama shoot in 2019. Alas, I cannot turn back time :') Thus, I will take this remake as my personal time-machine, and a chance at a do-over (with different faces, but that's okay!) <3 <3
Try to avoid spoilers as much as you can!! (So difficult, i know!) I remember everybody saying 'go in, as blind…
For sure! As much as I'm a fan of the original work, i relate to your position too. Recently, something similar happened as I chose not to watch the ever famous 'my love from the stars' because a j-remake of the same was announced starring Fukushi Sota <3 all's good as long as fandom doesn't spoil it for you. Good luck, see you when this airs! ^^
Canβt wait for this! I adore Jeon Yeo Been so the idea of her starring on the adapted version of a well-received…

I think so about Ahn Hyo Seop. He's too good-looking , idol style not kind of boy next door like the original…
Actually, even the actor in the original was about to debut as an idol in a boy-group, much like Ahn Hyo Seop! :) AHS's visuals is just fine for the character, he isn't any more or less attractive than his character requires, believe me! ^^
Ren's Character is not as you pictured him. First of all, Mira and Ren were never a couple. She was her life-long…
I admit my initial comment was more of a rant which could have conveyed a very different intention than what I thought... I'm not the best of writers when it comes to expressing myself, but I have 'hot takes', I guess? And I ten to get carried away lol! xD
Ren's Character is not as you pictured him. First of all, Mira and Ren were never a couple. She was her life-long…
All your points are valid.
However, I think you mistake my intention. It's not around Mira's characterization at all. Or a problem with how Mira & Ren defined their relationship/ dynamics/ equation, or the semantics of it.
My gripe is with how the situation could have played out differently, if only the WRITERS consciously chose to write it differently. When I wrote "The fact that Ren was 'rejected' on behalf of another, more well-settled, richer MAN..." I do not mean 'Mira rejected him', but rather 'the writers made Mira reject Ren....'
The way the situation played out is a little antithetical to who she always was as a person in any version of the franchise... like you said, a 'strong, independent woman'. It was even a bigger antithesis here, because it isn't the 90's anymore, and the mention of a 'potential future partner' in the same breath as the 'Ren situation' is just a bad look for her, and more so, in 2021.
I expressed a problem with the writing choice, not the character. I hope I got my point across...
But isnt it real? The squad that i had in school and used to meet up with i dont meet them like i used to now…
And yet whenever we meet up for a few days at a time (a common friend's wedding, or a coinciding visit to our hometowns), we hit it again as we were 16 and 17 and that not a day had passed in between, forget decades! :) i dunno how more 'developed' countries are like, but I guess i'm just very lucky to have this kind of a friend group! :)
Every theory sounds true but the fact Min Chae didn't know the squad is unsettling for me. You mean they didn't…
I wouldn't say 'together'. It was more like 'we just meet sometimes a year when somebody dies, or gets married'... but yeah, they don't actively hang out. And that's very disturbing. Adult NHD is weird!
Not happy ending =/= realisticEvery time I finish a drama that doesnt have a happy ending, I always see this comment.
Absolutelyyy! Among all my school, uni, workplace and hometown friends and aquaintances, i' ve seen so many fairytale endings. Esp because of covid cuz life's short, ain't no time to angst around! I'm shocked writers still feel the need to shoehorn in 'realism'='sadness' type of scripts, when it's anything but. Istg, those of us who feel like that, will die sad, lonely deaths! xD
It was obvious from the beginning that they will not be the end game tho. From Hee Do's daughter not knowing who…
They cat-fished me, the same way Mr. Queen queer-baited me. And you would be shocked to hear just how many of us feel that way. The fact that the actors on SET who have a better idea than YOU or ME about what the script was, thought it was possible for a different kind of ending, and pushed for it, is plenty proof enough.
There's a tvtropes term for it. I shall get back to you when I find it :)
So you mean to say, the breakup is organic, all relationships phase out, and against the 14eps of building the crescendo, we just get a montage of them 'not working out' and have a hurried falling out in the finale? That the pacing could not have been adjusted better? :O Nah bruh, that's major cat-fishing for a fairytale ending. To keep the hopeful second-guessing till the very end.
25-21 is a cautionary tale. You date a solid 8, which isn't perfect, but it's great when it's good. There is a rough-patch and you think you deserve a 10, so you bail out thinking 'i've had enough, and i can't do this'. Then, 20 years later, you're a sad divorcee because you ended up settling for a 5, you fooled yourself into thinking was a 9.5. The tragedy of life. Or even better, you end up alone (aka a 0) like BYJ. Because atleast you're honest that you messed up, and ain't no way you dating an 8 ever again (which was btw, the best thing that ever happened to you!) ^^
Okay so I want to write, who from my perfective the break up and them drifting apart makes sense character wise.…
Or maybe, get couple's therapy? I dunno, i just find this kind of bailing out as incredible selfish and lazy. People are ready to call it quits at the most minor inconvenience.. it may not be minor here (relashionship ethos is a genuine problem), but people just. Do. Not. Want. To. Put. In. The. Effort. -_-
