Ikr! I don't understand why people hate her.. Yes, she was a bit rude with the "social standing" thingy, but isn't…
Amen, Du-Shik is the king of sending mixed-signals, and then proceeding to trivialize the other's feelings and emotions, claiming that they 'overthink' too much and 'misinterpret nice gestures'. Hoo boy, you got some serious issues my friend...
Checking in here after watching the latest episodes over the weekend. Read a lot of negative views on how Hye…
Absolutely, Du-Shik was an ass, and an entitled douche-bag calling her 'feelings' a 'biological crisis.' He belittled her emotions, and I'm not cool with that. Also, what's with the 'some lines can be crossed as long as they're done comfortably..' ????!! Sounds a lot like 'i wanna have my cake and eat it too.' I'm glad Hye-Jin called him out on his BS. No matter, how much I adore KSH, Du-Shik was a jerk, just like HJ was a jerk in ep5 saying they got no chance, cuz they belong to different 'social positions.' Again, that kind of stuff is just mean, petty and uncalled for. But, she has every right to tell him to keep his nosy concern away right after he has friend-zoned her... I don't see her behavior as rude if she wants to maintain distance after being so BRUTALLY turned-down.
Like I said earlier, I immensely enjoy these characters even though they're not exactly very lovable.... and I would sure as hell would not like to date either of them, even if they came with SMA or KSH's faces. :')
Wonderful article - Chen Kun's Ning Yi is my favorite anti-hero. Of course the darkest protagonists this year…
Zhou Zishu went from a pragmatic AH to a disney AH... whereas WKX went from an unscrupulous hero to a classical AH? WKX's really hard to classify though :')
I think it can cost up to 5-5,5 thousand USD in Korea but in many countries the treatment is partially covered…
I'm 100% sure if braces didn't need monthly appointments, India would be the next hot-spot for medical tourism where you came to get your teeth fixed... then again, it's the same case as your country. Although, braces are cheaper here, but the minimum wages are so dismal, a large fraction of the country still can't afford even the most basic of braces, the ugly metallic ones, y'know? TT
I think it can cost up to 5-5,5 thousand USD in Korea but in many countries the treatment is partially covered…
Oh man, but I also heard medical intervention is really cheap in S.Korea... like a hospital visit for non-serious illness for a single night would be 100USD or lesser! I personally was a case of 'adult-braces', and my folks never let me get them as a kid, like Juri. I mostly had an overbite problem, with severe bunny-teeth and a weakening maxilla, with minimal extra spacing. Luckily, my lady-dentist who's as stunning as Hye-Jin here, was strictly against pulling out healthy teeth... so they adjusted the bite and strengthened the jaw with very less intervention. Probably why it was under 1K for me (also I was too poor to afford Invisalign)... but I have heard of 3-year cases that have costed upto 3K max, though nothing beyond that! 5K for braces is outrageously expensive to think about! How bout the dentist give you free veneers too after that? xD xD
woah so wait... what if du sik and hye jin keep meeting every 7 years like how the flower blooms every 7 years.…
7...? Yep... 7/8 year old toddlers (def more than 6 cuz Du-Shik was with his parents till 6 years of age) 14/15 year old adolescents/ high-schoolers (ep.6 flashback).... She's already 34 and he's currently 35. Dang... again the multiples of 7! :) I can't wait for Hye-Jin's onscreen birthday <3
They never mentioned when his parents died, my guess is they died when he was very small and his grandfather took…
Nope, Du-shik explicitly mentioned his parents died when he was 6, and he was taken care of by his grand-dad after that. And he lost his grand-dad during middle school...
Moreover, I know that some people may consider this "childhood connection" trope as overused, but I think it's…
Absolutely. One of my close buds from my grad-school turned out to be the organizer of a college fest we attended 3 years back during my undergrad studies.. we accidentally appeared in each others' pictures which we compared... and BOOM!... :"D Somehow, this trope doesn't seem too improbable for me.
Like every episode makes me question which out of our two Main Leads is a meaner person? Damn. :/ I really feel sorry for the both of them, no matter HOW much each of them think that they have a very fulfilling life.
The fact that braces cost more than 1000USD in S.Korea is appalling to me... medical-care is really cheap here I guess. I got mine for 700. And that included post-care for 1 year.
HyeJin is really petty for a FL, and all up in her defenses like a prickly hedgehog. Du-Shik can be really mean trying to protect his heart, his boundaries and his sanity. While I LOVE them to bits and enjoy watching them as characters... I wouldn't want to date either of them, sorry! xD
Yeah, he really holds him in high regards as his 'sunbae-nim'... Infact he was very nervous starring with LYY in YDMC, because she was KJH's girlfriend :")
The 4th 'connection' is the Lee Moon Sae song, 'An Old Love' which KSH croons in the bar with his guitar.... KJH had a guest appearance in Reply '88, where the song also features heavily! :D
Okay so, why does Du-Shik say 'nothing much happened that night?'
-Either he's still clueless of the fact that Hye-Jin actually recalls the full-night now, and thinks he can continue lying/pretending otherwise... OR
-He's doesn't want to further fuel a relationship that's deemed incompatible by the FL the next morning, by mentioning the kiss.... OR
-He DOES realize at the beach, that Hye-Jin suddenly recalled the moment she kissed him, yet pretends it did not happen A. spare her the embarrassment especially since she said Du-Shik has no chance with a city woman like her (and putting her foot in her mouth); or B. spare her the embarrassment in general, because he's a gentleman and she (based on her behavior that morning) likely made a drunk-mistake.... or C. as a defense-mechanism since she hurt him and he too agrees with her deep-down that they aren't compatible, or D. he has some relationship-centric trauma and would have still denied the kiss, even if Hye-Jin didn't go on the 'social position' rant, because in the end, he doesn't want a 'living creature in his house'
Could be one, a combination of any or even ALL of the reasons above... Dang. Chief Hong... a penny for your thoughts? :)

I tell you, it's not too late for the writer-nim to switch out the cis-het romance xD

'He knows that she knows, and he ALSO knows that she knows that he knows'.
SHIET. xD
