Its a shame because If this had aired on cable then it would definitely have broken records. I was very skeptical…
I would gladly give up on cable-ratings for the sake of more creative freedom! Besides, the writer has got her fair share of mega-hits, rating-wise... it's completely okay for her to try a different sphere of things.
I think the husband will take his wife's side no matter how brutal she is. He was tricked by the FL, paternity…
Ngl, it would be satisfying AF, if he drags YJ's ass all the way to court (for divorce AND custody). Because guess what, those are both the fights he knows he will win! Let's see if his love for 'perfect image' wins over his displeasure of being so obviously cuckolded. For ten continuous years, no less. Jae-Joon is another wildcard factor in this. If he comes for the daughter, you bet he gonna cut his losses. His character can go either way... and both scenarios would be equally interesting to watch!
kept thinking if adult Park Yeon Jin were played by Son Ye Jin that would have better resemblance of her younger…
Funnily, Im Ji Yeon (the actress who does play the adult Yeon-Jin) is said to look like Son Yejin!! I would LOVE for SYJ to play such a character (evil reincarnate) in her 40's. Something about her sweet smile that can be interpreted as creepy AF. However, I believe being the same age-range as SHK, she's a little too old to play PYJ.... afterall, her glitzy life would have made her age slower than MDE, with all her struggles and in-access to the privileges of life that can keep you looking young! :(
This was by far one of the best dramas to close 2022 with. I usually am not a fan of dark, suspense, revenge and…
"I'm so used to fluffy censored version of dramas they filter everything"... Same. Also, your preferred genres are mine too, so I completely relate. However, ever since I've got around to watching older Korean stuff... particularly the 2000-10 era of movies, my perception changed completely. In many ways, the Glory looks like an ode to such works (think Oldboy, I saw the Devil, etc)... because the writer does happen to be from that generation. Believe me when I say, the most graphic & shocking content actually majorly comes from Korea, contrary to what I, and most of us really, initially assumed (that it would be Japan, or even Thailand). I believe the writer could be her unapologetic, uncensored self because Netflix does not clip your creative-wings in the name of appealing to the masses who watch cable-tv. This is the best deal she could have got- a pre signed-contract (worth millions of won) with the biggest OTT platform and no added pressure of censorship. And the quality of her work, as a result... shows! ^^
This drama is so damned good I've binged it twice in one weekend and caught more the second time around. The green…
I think the reveal of the 'empty freezer tray' at the morgue was meant to show that MDE was bluffing the whole time -- the body was never there to begin with. And the doofus that Myeong-O is... actually ended up believing the whole ruse, without full confirmation, cuz he's a sucker for money. He played right into MDE's hands, and he likely blackmailed Yeon-Jin (behind the screens), which is why she had to silence him for good & close that trail off. So, not only has Myeong-O played into MDE's hands, he's also ended up losing his life (what was the only thing valuable he had, as per MDE). Also, since the body was never there, THIS murder of Myeong-O (since I believe his body will be found eventually) will prove that YJ is capable of murdering.
That's why she loves GO after that. She learned it for a motive but ended up really liking it.
I wonder if that's a parallel to her eventual relationship with either of the Men in her orbit (Do-Yeong or the Doctor).... got to know them for a motive, and ended up liking them for real!
How tf did dong-eun have more chemistry with yeon-jin's husband than with the male lead lol
I *know* this is a rhetoric question, but i think it has everything to do with the actors. Imagine an actor who is actually around 32 years old play the part of a practicing doctor? Somebody like Jung Hae-In perhaps? Would instantly generate 10X more chemistry with SHK! All their scenes had a lot of potential. Even though the eye-f*cking b/w DY and DE has been nothing short of cracky and fabulous!
As somebody who practices in the architecture field... MDE would have made a brilliant architect! T__T She's 5 steps and 10 years ahead of everyone in how she thinks. Her calculated guesses pay off, she understands human psyche well, and she's a great observer! :D All character traits any architect worth his salt, has! :)
I think it's pretty obvious that MDE won't end up with Do Young. It's the tension and chemistry that fans love:…
I think he has FULL potential to go ballistic. And just to sadistically take revenge on YJ for cheating on him, he'll fight to death for Ye-Sul's custody... a daughter which isn't even his! The irony is, MDE isn't even the harbinger of all things f*cked up in his life... YJ is. And by fighting the custody battle (likely proving that YJ is effing crazy & unfit to parent the child)... he's playing right into MDE's hands and prying YJ's motherhood out of her hands! :)
I don’t want Do Eun to end up with Do Young. And I don’t think that’s something she plans on doing either.…
The only scenario I see of DY and MDE together is she sleeps with him, just to piss-off Yeon Jin. Except, that's absolutely NOT her style! :P I think she's far from catching feelings for DY (she's very clinical about his existence)... yet, HE... seems to have a *massive* thing for her. The irony presents itself to be very entertaining, and even sexier than the graphic scenes YJ has with JJ. xD I dunno, after knowing the whole bullying backstory, he could either be A. Totally repulsed by the vendetta plan and want to have nothing to with the 'drama' or B. Counter-intuitively, and perverseley, be drawn even more to MDE. Let's see, which way the writer has decided to take his character. I FULLY trust her penchant towards darkness and I believe DY to be capable of scenario-B.
But Yesol is not his daughter. So basically he is raishis wife's lover offspring. Not sure if he married her because…
Except, the timeline doesn't add up. The daughter is 7years old (born in 2015, when MDE drinks beside Han River, thinking it's great how YJ is now a mum, which means her revenge can now start)... but YJ herself said 'oppa, we've been dating for 2years, and married for 10'... which means she tied the knot with DY in 2012. So the pregnancy before martiage thing is impossible. The only conclusion is.... YJ keeps sleeping with JJ even *after* her marriage. And regularly and frequently enough while also sleeping with her husband... enough so that she herself isn't 100% sure of the paternity, till she too realizes her daughter is colorblind!
In 2022, she's 35 and he's 32 (going by the year of their births)... I think her casting as 35 is brilliant, because…
The height difference between Yeon Jin & Dong-Eun too! The adult actors have similar body-structure as well as height-difference as the actors playing the High School version! The power-imbalance is also quite visually apparent as Yeon-Jin continues to physically tower over Dong-Eun!
I loved this drama, only complaint or maybe just a small pet peeve is that the age difference between LDH and…
In 2022, she's 35 and he's 32 (going by the year of their births)... I think her casting as 35 is brilliant, because life has not been kind to her, so ofcourse she looks haggard and old. And I'm glad she chose to de-glam for the script. Im Jiyeon as 35, although she's 32 IRL works as well, cuz ofcourse she's the rich lady who can afford to maintain herself. Plus, she's a news presenter. Dohyun as 32 though... it's like they didn't make any efforts to visually age him up. Her calling him 'sunbae' despite her being 35 and him being 32, is because she joined college much late (think 21?), and he skipped grades (final year student at 19?). So, academically, he's very much her sunbae!
Am I the only one who thinks that they haven't shown yet what jaejun really did to dongeun?
If you notice carefully, the financially weaker ones (Myeong-O & Hye-Jeong) were the ones that carried out the acts of violence, and did the bidding for Jae-Joon & Yeon-Jin, while one coolly shot hoops, the other was bored out of her f*king mind.
If Jae-Joon has indeed 'done more than what was shown onscreen'... it would likely be by ordering Myeong-O on his behalf. He wouldn't be bothered to get his own hands dirty. Much like how MDE is using all 5 against each other, without getting her hands dirty!
I think it makes for a more chilling angle. While Myeong-O was the one who forcefully kissed her (assaulted her in ep1)... we see Jae-Joon have a more profound effect on MDE, upon their adulthood interactions. Because he's THAT much more lethal, evil and vile.. & because he's capable of much worse than Myeong-O ever could. And MDE *knows* it!
-She uses Yeon-Jin to off Myeong-O. -She uses Myeong-O to make Yeon-Jin a certified murderer (cuz the other bullied-girl... So-Hee?'s body actually was never in the freezer) [conjecture] -She's using Jae-Joon to jeopardize Yeon-Jin's precious marriage. -She's using Do-Yeon to take away Ye-Sol (Jae-Joon & Yeon-Jin's child) away from them (if it ever goes to court)
Bonus: She used Hye-Jeong (her phone) against Sa-Ra, cut off her drug-supply & conned her out of money. She's also right there to pull Hye-jeong's strings (befriending her to-be Mother-In Law), because she's the easiest one to manipulate due to her insecurities (right after dumb-head Myeong-O)
Bonus 2: Used the teacher's 'precious' son to off him too. She legit has no blood on her hands at this point! :)
Dude made a whole-ass Go themed public installation in Seoul because MDE somehow became... his muse? Irony of the decadeee! XD Also, i LOVE the little detail how he's said to be attracted to pretty, skinny ladies who 'wear very little to the first date, and it's all Dior' (i.e. Yeon Jin)... but he actually started having a thing for the wallflower, plain-jane covered in turtlenecks and trench-coats (the complete opposite of YJ) 🤣 Hahahahahahahahahah! xD
