She fits the aesthetics foooo sure! Could work if they age up the characters, because NO way she can pass off for someone younger than 25. Acting Talent versus Casting Accuracy is a real struggle T_T
I'm excited but I'm also terrified: I don't remember any c-drama with a good rock-inspired ost. Anybody? They…
Hey Nina (I almost typed 'Nana'... muscle memory lmao) ^^ So, I did a research based on my little knowledge of dabbling into graphic design. We have two-first look posters to work with. What blatantly stands out is the the word NANA, which has been written in the iconic pink, but the font-style has clearly been changed. It's a deliberate stylistic change, I tell you. We have a theory where different musical-genres invoke a different style of image & font. Like 'funk' and 'disco' would be a very neon-lighty kind of font, 'pop' would be a swirly minimalistic type, 'metal' would be jagged/ pointy edges (think to famous bands/ groups and their logos, and the kind of fonts they use for it) An image search tells me the new poster uses 'Posterama Family' of fonts (Pro 1927 Ultra-black, to be specific). Common tags of similar fonts have words 'grunge' and 'vintage'. Couple with that the high-noise and grainy-ness of the Sepia and the Blue poster.... which could be considered a visual representation of grunge/ punk/ garage rock that usually features heavy distortion. I know, it's an elaborate theory, but the aesthetic choice of the posters seemed very intentional to me and points things in the right direction! *_* I hope my inkling is correct, and it IS set in the late 90's/ early 2000's and features a good rock-OST <3
Okay, so you're saying you loved the 'slice-of-life' bits and didn't really take to the dramatic ones surrounding…
Lmao... 'she chose chaos'... DEAD xD Ps. I'm still debating to this day who is Ren's father, and I'm sure sweet-Nana is too! I can't believe we never found out :P
i was talking about this with my sister a few weeks ago that i see a resemblance between dohyun and ju jihoon!…
:O :O :O :O :O :O *dead*
Edit: I have only seen DoHyun having a very animated kind of a body language, plus his eyes are VERY expressive. I don't know if he can hold back his naturally bubbly persona to the extent of portraying an ice-cold character like Shin (which again is very different from being wooden or robotic).... Shin has an undercurrent of hidden and controlled rage, with exceptionally upturned angry eyes. (and reminds me of angry, hard eyes that say... actor Lee JaeWook naturally has) However, DoHyun is an exceptionally brilliant actor, and if he achieves even 50% of what Shin is written out to be, (which I think he will, if casted...) it'll make me enter hard-stan category :P
Agreed, I LIVED for the sang-gun and the sang-sun romance arc... two oldies in their 60's falling in love!
I literally spent 30 minutes typing out the manhwa-ending (from the point of deviation of the drama, i'd say around the midway mark).... and sending it to two drama-watchers who had were curious on about the plot-trajectory, but would likely not read 179 chapters.... xD I recently visited the re-mastered webtoon in full-colour. Seeing CK and Shin brought a tear to my eye. Sad, but I get to scroll through only 6 chapters everyday T_T Highly recommend you check it out <3
yeahhh...but after all these years at least it's *something*, right? maybe more people will watch it - it'll almost…
Yazawa-sensei might just whisper around the ending (& how to get to it).... to the screenwriters... :) we'll finally know and get our closure! And like I said, beggars can't be choosers... It's hard being a fan, with the author/artist on an indefinite hiatus. (looks at GRR Martin who turns 73 this year) *prays hard to manifest a future j-drama remake*
I don't have much faith in C-drama adaptations because of censorship. Nana in particular has a lot of adult themes…
I need to particularly look up on China censorship's policy regarding the 'difficult topics' and how they are depicted in media, if at all. Let's just say there is a truckload of them in NANA. The undercurrent of the GL is the first red-flag though... closely followed by 99 others. The thing with MG2018 was because of the change in the bullying-arc, character-arcs were very unsatisfying almost to the point where the plot stopped making sense. You're right, a cleaned up story of NANA wouldn't work. It needs to be graphic enough so that we empathize with even the most flawed characters... ^^
I'm a little sad this is a C-Drama and not a J-Drama because the original OST for Nana was fantastic. It would…
Imo Anime OST > Movie OST... but that's just me... I STILL occasionally listen to it! <3 *blasts Kuroi Namida on loudspeakers* Taiwan has had some great grunge-sounding rock that I know of. In a way, C-drama has a wider pool of talent to choose from, to write and compose their Soundtrack! So, I'm looking on the brighter side of things :')
Wow I just recently watched the movies and was wishing for a new vr though mostly I thought of korean xDI love…
Okay, so you're saying you loved the 'slice-of-life' bits and didn't really take to the dramatic ones surrounding sweet-Nana. Fair enough! :3 Although, singer-Nana's life wasn't any less dramatic, but was more of a 'western'-makjang, versus sweet-Nana's, which was more of east-Asian Makjang (if you know what I mean...) *wink*
Honestly, with some of the classic works, I too keep hoping they get made into k-dramas, but you know what, the characters here are super-problematic, including the leads. With Saesang-activity around Idols having reached its *peak* in recent years, we don't really need fans to get any more delusional ideas. (aka the entirety of sweet-Nana's arc)... I shudder to think the after-effects, which is highly likely since the youth would gravitate towards this story, the premise is already hyper-realistic if you belong to the entertainment world, we all know how k-dramas are known to give people *some ideas*, and the ent-circle can be a highly abusive place, as is also shown here in the manga... >sigh<
That’s it. This kid is going to be the next big thing, as a project with Chemistry-Queen PMY will propel him onto massive hallyu-fame!! <3 I am sold on the visuals, but can this girl get a break and have a costar who’s finally older than her?! :(
hope NANA is done justice!!! music, makeup, fashion have to be iconic. quote that comfort me into adulthood: "I…
We riot if it is not Vivienne Westwood, 'kay? :D EDIT: also, is it fate, half the street-fashion featured on China's Douyin/ TikTok looks like it came out of NANA (manga) <3

You can type the word 'NANA' here and see for yourself :D
Honestly, my ship and OTP was Nana x Hachi. Totally under-rated. Just imagine the potential! *_*

Same... no bias, no prejudice. Will give it a fair shot :D

It's seared into my brain, and I'm psyching myself to accept a new face :'D
