In a way it was, right??! Like we know, where each of the characters would end up eventually (the finish-points)…
ParaKiss was one of my favorites too, with an incredibly realistic message and ending..! :D You're right, we never find out if they managed to meet Nana again or not... :(
I wonder how will they play the ending - the manga was never finished (I'm still waiting since 2009)... Still…
In a way it was, right??! Like we know, where each of the characters would end up eventually (the finish-points) We just don't know all the events that happened which got them there, after a certain point of time in the story (Ren's accident)
I can only hope the scriptwriters have a LONG chat with Ai-san and figure it out. If Hikaru no Go is any indication, we'll have a fully domesticated but faithful and consistent adaptation. Please Manga-Gods, please make it come true! T_T
EDIT: the lack of punk-rock in C-media definitely scares me a little, however it might be a great platform to bring those underground artists out! :')
That is why im hoping they push the boundaries with it being a alternate reality drama. They could make a beautiful…
Will KBS relinquish the rights of the drama to a private platform like tVN or Jtbc? Likely not.... judging by TKEM which was picked up on SBS. Which means... they will have as un-problematic a plot as possible. This just dashed ALL my hopes of ever getting an adaptation faithful to the original work... T_T
Jung So Min is a generation older than the guys xD Although Min Jae and Do Hyun are both excellent choices!
The artwork is such a fond part of my childhood (I followed it live during its last 3 years of release).... that no actor, however talented can live upto the artwork-characters. Look-wise, I only liked the two girls from 2006, though their acting got on my nerves. The boys looked nothing like the manhwa boys, one was wooden & robotic, and the other was over-dramatic, lol!
That said, I'm heavily in two camps for this one. I think Taehyung from BTS embodies Shin naturally (his broody vibes and his perpetual look of never-ending anxiety) and thus looks the part (but he probably can't act?). Meanwhile there are other talented actors like LJW, LDH, SK, KYD, HIY, etc that are decently good actors, but look hardly like the artwork. SK looks the closest though but he's on his THIRD manga character now? And then there is the part of me which thinks CEW will get the role because of his hallyu-stardom (please no!)....
These are the only reasonable names I can come up with. For the FL, there is MGY who probably won't take such a similar role but can act. KSH looks the part but is going to follow Son Yejin's career trajectory by choosing 'serious' projects. KYJ also probably. I don't know of anybody else. As long as she has a skinny limbs with a roundness to her prominent-heart shaped face, with large eyes... anybody will work. I hope her interpretation of the character isn't too ditsy/ derpy, because that's just lazy and annoying, in the name of 'high-school rom-com' -_-
yes!!! lee jaewook would definitely fit Prince Shin
Agreed, he definitely has that under-current of hidden rage, plus the super-angular, angry-looking eyes, much like Shin. Although, artwork-wise, Song Kang looks the *closest* to Shin (heavily-downturned plump lips and his body language/ physique) Currently, confused between the two (like I'm the casting-director lol!) xD xD
no way......................... u do not know how many YEARS I've been waiting for a remake! it's one of my favourite…
Agreed, I LIVED for the sang-gun and the sang-sun romance arc... two oldies in their 60's falling in love! <3 Shin's baby-brother was adorable! <3 The parallel-love story of the previous gen was SO good too, involving the Queen and the King, and Yul's parents, which mirrored the love-triangle/ love-square of the youngsters, as history repeated itself! (Reminds me, that was a weird as heck family!) -_-
Hello folks~ A kind MDL-er below @ayse, has dug out the manhwa online, in *full color* and re-mastered as a webtoon. The only catch.... it's in Korean!~ https://page.kakao.com/home?seriesId=55213891
Brings back all the feels, seeing Shin and Chae Kyung once again. Plus the fusion-hanboks have color this time. Oh my heart *_*
I see you're a manhwa-reader/ fan as well?!Agreed on the teenagers bit. Adolescence-fueled rage and toxicity happens…
THANK YOU for this. My eyes feel like they got blessed staring at the artwork in full-color! The webtoon-team has done a great job re-mastering it T_T Now, I only wish I knew how to read Korean somehow! <3
kinda curious to know who the actress is (is it Fan Bingbing?!) and which movie are you talking about?
Yep. Both her and her husband have been cancelled after being embroiled in 2 separate scandals. Correction: He is being deep-faked and they are waiting for her 'scandal' to die down. The drama is a 66-ep period/costume drama like River/Moon, called Legend of Ba Qing which was on shelf since many years back. Hence they can't reshoot :P
Last time someone got cancelled so badly in c-dramaland.... they decided to use deep-fake technology to replace the actress's face. Rumor has it, the editing team is STILL editing to this day. xD It's hard work, but I'm kinda glad they went in with a replacement! :3
