So... there is a confusion regarding the identity of the writer of some letters in Mr. Queen... and at this point,…
They literally had the FL say 'Why, why is it you who's here????'... at their secret-meeting place.... and they trolled the Bird-house scene too. I CAN'T! xD

Netflix should fire their content-selector :P
Hallyu stars is definitely a big deciding factor, I agree.... There is no other reason why TKEM would get picked up xD

There simply can't be any other reason :P

Your opinion reminds me of fans of some celebrities/artists, btw. Sometimes there are fans who stalk the celebs/artists…
I really did not think there was any deeper reason behind those 'fan', 'anti-fans' and 'stalker-fans' references... thought it was just a harmless addition to the Queen's dictionary... but nope. The analogy, and the parallel in their situation versus, all of these annoying people... makes me think the writing is indeed brilliant. Holy Cow, did not expect such profoundness!

(afterall, the King and the Queen are the closest to Joseon-era celebrity, and everybody else is their managers, the public, the fans, anti-fans... and ofcourse, saesangs!) <3

and then, as a 'man to man' thing, he admitted the King has some 'serious talent' in bed. and he justified not just with *his own reaction* but as someone who has actively slept around with multiple women before... kkkk

Absolutely. I'm a tad puzzled on their policy because they eventually picked up 18 again after it got some buzz and finished airing. Altho Mr Queen has hit its midway mark recently... so it could be possible they might pick it up later.
I thought the Kingdom's usp was the zombies and not the saeguk! xD
Anyhow, with their recent choices like the Lovestruck, Heirs and Startup, Nurse Files (which didn't perform critically)... I'm genuinely interested in their SK-content policy! But then again, it's wrong to expect every Netflix k-drama to explode like CLOY

I became an anti-fan for Mr. Queen! ^^This drama is the one which I enjoyed THE MOST!!I became an anti-fan for…
You know WHY she's SO good at behaving like BongHwan? In her BTS, she actually possesses a 'bro', 'cool-dude' kind of a body language :O
I was shocked to see a dainty girl behave like that off-camera. Infact, I thought SHS's IRL persona is close to So-young...but NOPE.
She IS So-Bong (the mixture of both)...
Her performance reminds me of Megan Lai from Bromance. She did a phenomenal job too...!! ^^
Infact if you know of Cecilia Liu (Liu Shishi).... from Scarlet Heart (china)... she has a similar dainty frame, but a 'dude' body-language too!.. It's HILARIOUS to watch xD xD xD kkkk!

It was drunk-sex definitely. But was it non-consensual? She very actively participated in it, and was even a 'tigress'…
You clearly brought up my country and age. and *that* was getting personal.
If your idea of answering to a rhetoric is bringing up someone's nationality and age in the guise of explaining a concept to them, then sure, you got your point across. And I'm sure, that made your day :D

Wait, no, Bong Hwan distinctly remembers it was the King. She thought it was Hong Yeon first, but then she *saw* the King and proceeded regardless.
Okay, I agree, drunk-sex is non-consensual sex. Because you can't give consent, or the consent you give, is not valid.
Hmm. The questions I posed earlier were rhetorical,
like, 'is every drunk-sex non-consensual, and thereby a rape?'
But thanks for explaining your point by getting personal.. -_-

Rape is non-consensual sex right? Not giving consent means saying no... if she was getting raped, why was she actively participating in it? Did she resist and say 'no', and maybe I missed something? :O
Now I need to know!

Err, regarding the court-politics bit. Yes, every drama that is set against the backdrop of the royal-court (both chinese and korean) WILL have some amount 'game of thrones' going on. Almost ALL of them will use the initial episodes to establish facts, positions, allegiances, conspiracies, and plans to break the status quo.
However, after this 'warming up' period, sh*t actually starts quickly hitting the fan, as you get to see all the stuff that was talked/ discussed/ planned since the initial episodes play out for real. And it turns ugly (and fun) REAL FAST. The back-stabbing, double-crossing and out-maneuvering is simple enough to follow, but not dumb enough to make you think: 'how are these idiots even *alive*?'
Mr. Queen follows a similar plot-progression. Apart from a small speed-breaker around the 6/7 ep... we are going full-throttle into the meat of the story. The coming weeks will *only* be better.... The politics isn't heavy, and the comic-relief is literally, the *other half* of the plot! :P

So people, if you're having second thoughts... jump right into it. No regrets. Plus the MDL comment section is FUN! ^^
See you! :)

Okay this lost me, I didn't want it to be true but they passed the nonconsensual drunk sex as humorous and lighthearted.…
It was drunk-sex definitely. But was it non-consensual? She very actively participated in it, and was even a 'tigress' in bed.
Also, regarding the identity confusion (whether the Queen thought it was Hong Yeon or the King).... we clearly see the next morning in her monologue that she distinctly remembers proceeding ahead with the King (and not her maid), because her fuzzy-eyesight corrects itself (and she sees the King's face)... yet she goes ahead and rips off his shirt.
So yeah, it was consensual (unless any form of drunk-sex is non-consensual, because intoxicated people can't give consent).... and it's established she saw the King, acknowledged it was him, and went ahead, nonetheless.
