This will forever be one of my most loved dramas ever. I've watched it while it was airing (yes, I'm THAT old! XD) and I often rewatch it beacuse it never fails in making me laugh out loud, but also stop and care for all the characters in it.
And Nagase is such an incredibile, talented and versatile actor!
I need a good drama for Kame, please... he's an incredibly talented actor, but with the ability to almost always choose mediocre projects. This looks like it will finally be a good one!
I haven't seen the original and watched this because of our boys, AND because it looked damn fun... well, it was! Funny, chaotic, very well acted and with a nice pace (although it kinda slowed down a bit after the first hour). Now I really hope someday we can see Billkin & Krit in another (mature) lgbt story. <3
PS: watching the ending credits had me thinking that Billking must be such a fun guy to be around, and I loved how he improvised in so many scenes!
Ok, halfway through and still can't get all the hype - it's a good drama, and I absolutely recognize the need to support a chinese BL, but honestly 8.7 as of now feels way overrated. The direction and the editing are pretty sloppy, and although the actors have nice chemistry the acting feels off at times (except for Chi Cheng's actor who's really fluid and natural in delivering all of his lines and has a very nice body language).
Anyway - I'm very curious to see how the second couple develops, it's basically what has me most entertained up to now.
These two are the best couple ever! The actors are so natural around each other, I love how well-rounded both characters are and how they interact: they really "feel real", one real Tada and one real Armin with vivid interactions! I especially love how Armin keeps smiling while around his bf! <3
I already foresee me watching fanvids of these two, continuously, for months and months when the series will end...!
To be honest, I can't really empathize with any of these characters - I'm liking this series (although many scenes are kinda cringe and many others come out as overly dramatic) and I keep watching every week because I really want to know how it ends, BUT I feel like they completely messed up the screentime for all the plots and subplots this story has. Most topics are very interesting but they are not addressed completely, just "pointed out" and then forgotten or left aside. And plus, all the sons/daughters/people/husbands/wives... so many characters, but most of them just "thrown there" and that's a pity, because it could have been a very beautiful and intriguing mosaic of stories and lives.
They could have used few more episodes to better focus on all the characters, their backgrounds and their growth... and make a longer drama; or, think about a first and a second season.
Anyway, we're almost there! As of now I just hope our alltime favourite butler is still alive AND we get a wedding or an official declaration of Khanin/Ran and maybe a kick in the ass to the monarchy!
Argh, and here we go, crying this week too... so many meaningful moments!
This drama is just so special in every way, hitting all the same chords as IFYLITA: amazing acting/chemistry and elegant direction, good music, memorable and relatable characters, perfect dialogues (never too cheesy, never too basic) and the story although simple is enthralling and promising.
I can't wait for it to finish, to start a binge-rewatch!
PS - Great is so damn goodlooking I just can't stop staring at himmmmmm!!!
Armin and Tada are the sweetest and cutest pair ever, that morning scene was perfectly perfect!
Pond's such a natural, his expressions are priceless... and their chemistry is astonishing! They work together better than some other most famous fixed-ships, I hope they'll have other projects in the future (although, at the same time, since they are both great actors I'd love to see them explore and grow more and more!).
For your future reference, when you hit 60 those 70 yo grandpas start looking pretty dang good! And you can put…
AHAHAHAH I love both of your comments! XD Actually I'm not that young myself, and I totally agree that some grandpas look better than many youngsters... but obviously what I meant was that everyone is so stylish in this series, while Net almost always has grey lame pullovers and grey lame trousers XD
Sometimes I feel bipolar while watching this show: the "intro" to the first trial felt so flat, with the people seemingly not caring or even not knowing about what was going on... then we had three speeches that, I must admit, brought tears to my eyes (I wasn't expecting Ramil's and it really was a beautiful speech!) and that could have moved so many threads and dialogues, instead Ramil bounces back to acting all cocky... I don't know, I feel there are tons of useless moments, while the good ones are wasted or spoiled by a terrible use of screentime.
And on a sidenote: Net is so damn hot, why do they dress him like a boring 70yo grandpa?
I knew this would be good, because both GreatInn and AouBoom are amazing, but I honestly didn't expect it to be SO good! I'm loving everything from sceneries, costumes, music, dialogues and characters - be it the good ones and the bad ones! Great's pouting face is SO cute and at the same time he's SO hot and charismatic when on official duty... jeez this man is probably one of the most good looking humans out there. Unbelievable.
And let's stop for a moment and say that Aou as always is owning his role: he's such a multifaceted actor! Can't wait to see more from this ship!
Tada is the cheesiest man ever, but I just can't stop smiling and giggling whenever he says those things to Armin... he looks so happy while showing off his love, and Armin shines from this shared happiness too! *_*
So, this was very good up until episode 6 (set aside for the ladies parts), and then someone decided to f*** everything…
And by the way, I'm not against the death(s) - but Victor's death could have been preparatory to TK growing up and learning to deal with love/loss/grief maybe along with the surviving twin (when they met I honestly thought he would bring TK to visit all the places Victor wanted to show him... and they could have shared memories and heal both their grieving souls...).
Instead we got two deaths first, a "let's correct everything" moment, and then an ending that seems a throwback to "gay = sin = don't deserve happiness" kinda mood. Why?
And in the last "dreamy" moment from TK his heart is still beating... so what, everything was just a dream?

Sigh - Earn is such an unlikable character! I like P'Kaew but I really didn't feel the need of a GL part (especially between these two!), plus they're taking so much screen time instead of the series focusing on our MLs...
Anyway. A nice episode, I really loved the ending with Yo honestly realizing his feelings in such a mature, collected and serious way... Poom is rocking his role!
Guy is definitely the perfect fit for the role of the Prince, he's charismatic and at the same time has a gentle and elegant presence.
I love how both Great and Inn are really into their roles - if I have one complaint about the series so far, is that some changes of scene are a bit abrupt. But aside from that, it's my most anticipated drama every week!

(when Ava's dad came out with the "genius" idea of the purifiers I was like... hello? Welcome to Earth 2025? ^^)

(I keep on loving this show, although the cringeness levels are skyrocketing and the direction is leaking like a sieve... XD)

I honestly thought we would have to wait up until the end of the last episode to have one kiss.... XD
