Ooopsie, I almost forgot this was coming out this week but seeing that ep1 was out was such a great surprise! <3
I had no doubts on Pond and Peterpan in terms of acting and good looks... ahem, charisma! (although I always ask myself, what do some hairdressers think when working on some hairstyles...)
Almost all other actors, though, felt a bit cringe especially in dramatic scenes. But the atmosphere as a whole was very intriguing and enthralling, so can't wait for next episodes!
I am so very mad they DIDN'T just buy the license for (ETA: Chinese danmei) Rebirth of a Movie Star directly.…
Yeeeees Pond with that haircut looks great! But to be honest, I think almost every japanese/thai actor looks great with that half ponytail... whereas if I wear it I kinda look like the worst nerd ever XD
Oh, what an age gap! I'm happy to see mature actors in a BL series, hopefully the plot remembers that and the character Boy portrays will act accordingly...
Also, the story looks interesting: I'll stay tuned and... fingers crossed!
Uhm - as I said last week, for as much as I'm liking this, it really feels "disconnected" and it's nearing a cringe-danger zone... I think the things I loved most in this episode were the costumes AND Zee/Charan AND Net&JJ characters which I hope we'll get to see more and more.
Question: isn't a "tradition" something important and heartfelt? I was expecting this crowning contest to be something pretty old but it's just the fifth one. Plus, they talked about it from ep1 as something fundamental, but then in two episodes they basically changed every aspect of it... who knows, maybe in next episodes they'll even decide that a prince with no heirs can freely adopt someone to take part in the competition too...
Sidenote - I couldn't stand Khanin this episode. I get it: he likes Charan, he wants to be near him, but he's not a 5yo throwing tantrums over a candy...
PS.: am I the only one who got terrible "Oh my sunshine night" flashbacks while watching the red apple? Maybe it's the fencing, or the plastic plants everywhere, but this drama gives me those same vibes...
Second episode was slightly less impactful than the first one and had some technical issues (why, oh why, can't these thai dramas solve audio problems in a decent way???), BUT I'm loving our boys and their dynamics! Plus, the music is right on point AND the flashbacks fit perfectly both to the storytelling and to the character's backstory and development, I'm really loving the direction up to now!
Sidenote - Singto is so beautiful, how can you not love his cute face and puppy eyes...!
I'm the only one relating the ghost histories with Peaceful property?? the dancing ghost (Book and Force story)…
Same! When they talked about the ghost dancer I was def expecting a male dancer AND when they jumped to the construction site shadow I was like, "HomePeach where are youuuuu"
I made this! A mutual on Tumblr translated some of those older interviews recently for a gifset and I realized…
Thank you for this video! So many people don't know what these two boys had to hear, face, and go through... they are iconic because after all, they managed to always be positive and grow, grow, grow! Love them!
Ok, now - this drama is captivating BUT it's in a dangerous equilibrium between cringeness and majesty.
Like, episode 4, random notes: --- the lady speaking half english half thai in a drug-like speech at the beginning? Did we need that? ---- we could've added speaking german and italian too during the ballroom... and why not korean? Plus yeah, let's sing and dance and maybe do some crochet and an algebra quiz too? --- prince Ramil has the longest and thinnest legs ever --- BL's actors must have the strongest abdomens ever, for all those hours spent bending in the "fell and almost kissed" position simulated in slow motion, while all the other actors move normally around them... --- James! --- handling a crown with bare hands, uhm? o.o --- how good does Zee look with those glasses? --- where did they find that whip Zorro's style??
Boom is definitely the sexiest man on earth, no doubt on that. :D (how can they put Naru's character into a contest for "sexy"? i get Jin and Johnny, but Naru? o.o)
Overall a very good watch, entertaining and great chemistry and acting from the leads - the other cast was meh, set aside few secondary characters. I feel like it's a bit over-rated but it's still a nice one, can't wait for S2 to see Akin back in action!
I was veeeeeeery curious about this so yesterday I watched the first 2 eps and... I'm probably the voice out of the chorus, but I'm not really feeling the show - the dialogues feel either pretty plain OR way too exaggerated, and the storytelling is also quite disconnected, there are some transitions that leave me saying "what? we jump to this like that?".
I don't know Zee & NuNew from other projects, but so far I'm not enjoying NuNew's way of acting which (to me) feels somehow forced and scholastic. As for Zee, his character is pretty stiff so let's see how it turns out in later episodes.
That said, the story and the whole "emmaly's reign" and so on is very nice, so I'll keep watching hoping that it'll catch up. And, the OST and overall atmosphere is pretty nice too, so I'll stay tuned. :)

"Paint with Love" it's nice but... it could have really been a great series but has too many plot issues and storytelling problems, unfortunately. :(
I loved his songs with Tae for "Paint with Love" a couple of years ago! https://youtu.be/x_D4K-nG0TY?si=85_dcj4ESc7Hv1p1
And I still cry when thinking about "He's Coming to Me"
