I don't even think you realize how much this comment says about your mental state. Your comment is so unintelligent…
It is your opinion, of course, we all have opinions, but that doesn't make it a mentally healthy passable one and opinions can definitely be criticized and dismissed or debated if they come from an ignorant and insular perspective.

It's not even about this particular actor, BL's or LGBTQ shows. It's simply about reality and fiction. If you cannot separate any actor/actress from a role they play on TV, then that just reflects your mental state and also, apparently, your questionable subjective views on what a guy's 'masculine atmosphere' is supposed to be.

Also, you can call me stupid in any language you want, I don't need to call you names when your comments represent your IQ ✌️

Is it bl..
If you're looking for 'BL' in the sense where there are physically intimate scenes between the ML's, then it's not going to appeal to you, but this is not a bromance. Despite China's backwards LGBTQ+ censorship issues, the show producers made sure Lanzhu and Jiushi's relationship does not come across as just friends, which is probs why it got pulled off the air so fast 😂 The 'bromance' tag doesn't belong on this show imo.

hi..okay so i'm on episode 9 and im a bit confused!!so what exactly is the deal with Ruan Lann Zhu? his team...are…
People have answered about Lanzhu and Obsidian, so just a note about this question: if he has been through the doors himself wouldnt he remember what to do in there to get the key when he goes in with his clients?

Like a video game (as the series is based on), RPG's specifically, they can be played through multiple times and have different outcomes or different things may occur according to what the 'players' do and choose in the game, so what happens in the doors may not always be the same and unexpected things can happen when entering again, while something's may remain the same. Also, like a video game, there are levels of difficulty. In the series, the difficulty of the 'stages' (doors) are determined by level entered but also according to the player experience. So if a player is a first timer they have low experience and they have to learn the game and gain experience as they enter higher doors (or repeat previous doors and if they don't die).

Lanzhu is basically expert level because he's entered many doors. But the events that happen when he goes back into previous doors is not always the same and he also has to be careful because just like in a co-op game, even if an expert is playing with lower level players, they can still go down with the team.

After all, every historical movie/series/drama has to be taken with a pinch of salt, no matter which country it…
I don't think he looks dark. I think they've made him look a little rough and weather worn because of where he's supposed to be coming up from, but his skin colour in the different intended lighting of the scenes looks normal imo.

Every country will tell their story, especially during the World War 2 era. The US & UK are no different. This…
After all, every historical movie/series/drama has to be taken with a pinch of salt, no matter which country it comes from. I'ma do my best to enjoy the story and the acting (which so far has been good), and not worry too much about the little 'details'.

Also, WY with less white washed make up and no porcelain doll filters is a big win.

I can't give this a full 10 points because of the ending (how I wish I could erase EP.77 & EP.78 from my mind)…
I can still accept episode 77 (if you read the novel you'd know that it could still line up well with the source material's superior ending) but 78 they dropped the ball. Shouldn't have made 78.

GIRLLL, I nearly said almost the most important spoiler bc of your comment lol. You'll understand later why, ohhh…
Oh lol XD yeah from the first ep there was no bromance. Like I've said before, that's a forced tag, Chinese BL screenwriters make it pretty obvious where they can, that it's non platonic 😂

GIRLLL, I nearly said almost the most important spoiler bc of your comment lol. You'll understand later why, ohhh…
Oooh, yeah. Because in the novel he pierces Qiushi's ear with an earring item from inside the door world, and it's eventually revealed to be a tracking device so Nanzhu knows where Qiushi is.

But in the show, Lanzhu just straight up gives him a ring like it's their fifth date or summat, and Jiushi just assumes it's incentive to make him join Obsidian and Lanzhu's like 'yeah, okay, bb, suuuuure.' He def used Jisuhu's real name to find him, not a tracking device. I don't think the ring is meant to be a tracking device in the show. But now I'm really curious about what spoiler did you almost reveal tot he OP?? 😂

I don't know about anyone else, but for me in Chinese BL's, 'bromance' is just the label they have to put on it…
The word itself is supposed to be brotherly + romance. Brotherly is supposed to negate the non-platonic meaning behind the word romance, while still keeping all the implications of a sentimental, emotional intimate and affectional closeness between two guys, which is not sexual, but has a bond that is much closer and stronger than a normal male friend.

It's actually been quite a breakthrough for male & male friendships since the word became well known in the early 2000s, because the term bromance becoming popular has made more heterosexual men feel comfortable showing affection and emotional vulnerability with their close or closest male friends.

That said, BL's are not stories based on bromance, so the term is forced in there while the screenwriters do their best to show us how very much the ML's are romantically interested in each other with cleverly worded conversations, meaningful looks and ambiguous references, puns and touches. Kudos to them. Really.

Nah, there is bromance as a genre and the world is applied to real life relationships. The actual definition of bromance is close non sexual relationship between two men. It exists in plenty of shows and irl (e.g: I don't know if you have any idea about the Miles Kane and Alex Turner bromance: aka Milex but they are THE living embodiment of real life bromance and it's really great that they're so close)

But Cn BL's that are censored are forced to label it that way, the 'sexual' side of the relationships are forced to be indistinct and avoided even though it's properly established in the source material. That's the biggest difference that 'bromance' fans should realize, in Cn BL's they're watching content wherein the true nature of the relationships is suppressed, the characters are not meant to be 'just friends.'

Yeah, but some also ask about it and make comments about how they don't like 'gay stuff' and say they hope it's just friendly bromance. I've seen plenty of those comments in censored BL comment sections. Those people should just watch actual bromance only shows and stay away from censored BL's since the 'bromance' label is literally forced to be there. I mean, going as far back as Advance Bravely, none of the censored Cn BL's I've seen came across as 'just friends'.

Are you talking about the fact that it's meant to be the 'censored' version of the earring 'tracking device' Nanzhu gives him in the novel? Something they didn't actually clarify in the series and instead made it seem like Lanzhu liked it so he put a ring on it 😂😂😂
I LOVE how the writers of these Cn censored BL's do their best to let us know what's really up. hehe xD

It's more complicated than the series and very different, I'll try to explain as concisely as I can;In the novel,…
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on certain points xD
Because I do agree that Nanzhu went through the doors after he became 'human', probably many, many doors, until he finally encountered LJS, but the novel literally says his created memories were flawless, as if he'd lived since being a teen. But ultimately he never was a teen, he was never 'young', he was never a human being at all.

So to my understanding, most of his allies/friends from before his first door as a 'human' were either beings that existed in the Spiritual Realm along with him (like the door gods who were revealed to be totally harmless to him after he regained his memories) and those being's all knew him. And just like the door gods were 'instructed' to attack him like he was a human, those other beings were probably instructed to 'help' him in the final door. It's either that, or they're manufactured memories.

As for emotions, Nanzhu doesn't come across as emotional in the book, not much anyway. He does say that he starts to feel more once LJS comes into the picture, in the novel and series. Even so, his range of emotion is limited in both versions, but in the novel it's MUCH more limited than the series. So, yeah, we'll have to agree to disagree. 😊

I mean, they're really not bromance though. These censored BLs actually do as much as possible to imply non platonic feelings and relationships while not being overt simply because they're forced to do it that way.

As for people who won't watch or like it if it's not just bromance, they shouldn't watch Cn censored BL adaptations at all, they should just watch actual Cn bromance shows, because deny it all they want, those two categories are separate and it's obvious why.

I don't know about anyone else, but for me in Chinese BL's, 'bromance' is just the label they have to put on it by default. They literally don't have a choice. But in the Cn BL's, this one included, the relationship is def written in a way that's meant to be more than friends, and the chemistry between the ML's is on point 100%. Just imo.

It sounds like you're confusing the series with the books though. A lot of what your saying merges the two forms of media, but the novel and series are actually super different.

For example, the novel is not about a virtual game made by man. It's about another realm which Nanzhu was the 'god' of, or at least, the highest being existing there. The world people enter into where Nanzhu exists is like a game of survival between two worlds. As for Nanzhu, he is not human, or a program, he's some other kind of being. And seeing as how he affected the memories and lives of people going in and out of the doors, and how he affected LJS's memory and mimicked his form and parts of his life in his backstory, and as it states in the novel, Nanzhu did make himself memories without having lived them, because he was never a teenager.

The series however, is about a virtual game made by people, in which Nanzhu was created to be the final door 'boss' or 'god', by a human who programmed him into existence and everything he experienced before LJS entered the game is also a programmed memory.

Either way, a lot of his memories are not real and in both forms of media, he doesn't have a long history. It all basically starts from the time when he first entered the human world to eventually meet LJS in the door world.
