Not only male, Kawi had no lovers male or female. He said in EP1 he never dated anyone and was not in any relationship…
Yeah, but that was his original future. He's packing memories of his most recent future where he was in a full relationship with Pear, boy should definitely be packing more than just some awareness of physical intimacy π€£ so α΅Κ³α΅α΅α΅α΅Λ‘ΚΈ it's because he's never been with a dude before that he's hedging.
#ep5The kawi's "hidden attraction plot" towards pisaeng is such a clear pandering that it's laughable almost.Like…
I do agree that he was really into Pear, but 'was' is the operative word here. You seem to be overlooking the time travel element of this show, in which each time he went forward (especially in the most recent future trip) his brain was loaded with years of his complicated, on and off again feelings and interactions with Pisaeng before he went back to the past again.
At this point i.e: ep09, with so many adult memories and feelings for Pisaeng from his future trips, that literally led to him and Pear separating in the most recent future trip, piled high on top of how he used to feel for Pear as an adolescent, for him to be parsing through those feelings internally in real time and reeling a little or being shocked about it, isn't such a leap. I could say plenty more about Kawi's character development and stuff, but I'm too lazy, I just wanted to point that out real quick (βοΎβοΎ)β α΅α΅α΅αΆα΅ α΅α΅α΅
Another enjoyable ep, I like how this show is carefully skirting most of the usual tropes, JUST BARELY dipping into them. They veer toward a sh*tty trope and then reroute at the last second onto a sensible path. Although we are still seeing some of that cliche token resistance towards basic physicality by one half of the ML pair, but I think it can be attributed to Kawi not actually being experienced with having a male partner (although this may not be a good enough excuse writers, since he's from the future, a grown ass man, and also has memories and knowledge of other future scenarios of himself as a grown ass man, where he's undoubtedly more experienced). BUT α΄ΚΙ’α΄α΄ΚΚΚ, it can make sense since Kawi has mentioned alcohol makes him bolder (as seen in past and future scenarios) and now he's avoiding alcohol, and even in his other future events he never did more than kiss Pisaeng. So, yeah, ππππππππ.
Hm. Minor, minor hole in the plot imo. Written in for the sake of that good ol' BL will they/won't they/when will they recipe. The actors' chemistry is carrying it all off well though. π°π πΆπ π°π±π»π
JaFirst are famous for their height difference. Itβs a big part of their appeal.
I appreciate the suggestion, the two ML's haven't grown on me yet, but if I get bored I'll try it. I remember someone once recommended The Eclipse to me. I tried and failed to make it past 3 eps π but I hung in there for My Only 12% only because I liked the actors.

I've never seen it actually, didn't know any of these actors. But the cover looks highschooly, is it based in highschool? I struggle to get through highschool based shows.
How is it creepy? Just curious cuz I havenβt seen it yet
I get it π all I have to offer is this https://kisskh.at/list/4Ko6OAK4 Of all the BL's I've watched, these are the only ones I'd recc to all BL viewers to see, maybe you'll find something on my short fussy list.
Ps: and maybe watch My Only 12% (if you haven't, and at your own risk). Santa and Earth are an amazing pair, the BL story itself is lacking in many ways, but they make up for it. Pps: and Vian the Series is also worth a watch, it's a Vietnamese show though, so you won't find it listed on MDL. It's on YT.
Hm, good vibes in these episodes. Although, MS could have been more straightforward, in order to diffuse the tension all he had to do was discreetly tell one, or both of them, that their overt behaviour and attention regarding him was making him uncomfortable. I was actually glad when Hyeon Jun decided to back off and not enter their chats. The situation was starting to look messy, saved himself the trouble.
Also, reading the subs for the chats was hella difficult man.
Glad to see YH coasting through with minimal stress, just enjoying making friends and letting the cards fall where they may, and SW looks like he's decided to do as much too. It was nice to see everyone being supportive of one another at different points in these episodes.

I too appreciate a height difference (ahem, Semantic Error ftw), but I can't say these two appeal to me, but that might just be because of the creepy-ish pairing dynamic of this show.

Me? Heh, I couldn't recommend anything. I'm too fussy. A lot of shows trailers or casting don't even make it past my radar. I can almost guarantee you've watched more shows than I have, most people on here have π
How is it creepy? Just curious cuz I havenβt seen it yet
I don't blame you, I barely made it through Utsukushii Kare part 1 and then part 2 when it came out because it had already been creepy and then it became cringe too, but I was bored and it was a short series. As for this, if ep 4 doesn't show changes, I'll drop it.
How is it creepy? Just curious cuz I havenβt seen it yet
Well, to be clear, I don't mean scary creepy, I mean icky creepy. As in, the same way I found Utsukushii Kare to be a bit creepy. Without giving away anything in case you decide to watch it, the dynamic is similar, except it starts where one of them is already famous. One ML has a major fan crush on the ML celeb (already a power dynamic issue) and he comes across as a bit pathetic and obsessed wanting this guy's attention, with hints of willingness to embarrass himself and be subservient in order to get the star's attention.
It's just my opinion, I don't really go in for this kind of dynamic. But I gave Utsukushii Kare a chance, so I'll watch this further and see if it balances out.
Just watched ep2 (kind of forgot about this show tbh) and I'm ngl, I was straight up surprised by the height difference. In separate scenes the two ML's both looked kind of average height, I assumed they were probably similar, but nah. Man, it threw me, especially because I thought the dorky one was smaller in stature.
Otherwise, the show is kind of underwhelming BUT it's still only the second ep, let's see how 3 goes.
As a fan I'll obviously suggest you watch it, and tell you it's amazing and all that. But if you're biggest concern…
I agree about the length of C-dramas, I haven't watched many because of the tiresome length, but for The Untamed, I will say that the plot is somewhat complicated so the length of the drama is entirely necessary. It is all about taste in the end, many people get bored because the beginning has some past scenes and flashbacks which can be mildly confusing and it may feel slow, so if you don't like something which unravels at a slower pace, this might not be for you. But the plot, ML pairing nothwithstanding, is really fantastic in the end, and the plot also has twists which, if you haven't read the novel, will keep you guessing.
I'm not the type to insist someone watch something, because I would reject that kind of insistence myself, but since you are already interested, I'd say try a few eps and see how you feel.
Exactly, and people don't seem to realize how weird they're being. I saw people say that they wished SW and JS…
Yep, when I first came to the comments I thought it'd be interesting to share episodic opinions and talk about who everyone wanted to support, but then I started seeing the word 'ship/shipping' being thrown around and then someone mentioned that there were threats made on Twitter toward someone on the show, and other messy stalkerish level stuff is all over the comments and I've realized reality and fiction are blurring up in here and getting worse.
As for the contestants becoming BL actors, I literally don't even remember the names of the S01 people because their personal lives never interested me that deeply, so if they became BL actors, that's news to me π
Nah bro episode one had me π€£ I genuinely did not see that coming at the end, Buxia using that method to win π€£π€£ and I haven't smiled this much watching a BL in a long time. I was already hoping to like this show because I always hope for more BL's from Taiwan (BL's in Chinese) because I love the language and the general Chinese aesthetic [period or modern], so to find that this is going to be funny and not overly make up'd, is a pleasure.
