Similar to KinnPorsche. I still wonder who will succeed their business, when everyone and their dog is gay.
LOL yes, specifically gay gangsters abound is a laughable idea. I don't even remember KinnPorsche too well, I dropped that show at some point. But this show is definitely not tryna keep it real, still, I'm enjoying it a lot. Fan ZeRui and Ai Di are sending me. Absolutely fantastic characters.
If you've seen any American teen drama that features sex, drugs, betrayal and alcohol, this is the Thai version.…
I don't generally watch shows in that genre, especially not American ones because it's all boring to me. Shock factor stuff, you know? No depth. Not too interesting. That's why I asked about this because I saw the trailer and synopsis and it had seemed they were going for that vibe. But I'm giving it a try.
lol if you want MESSY, this is the show for you! I enjoy it bc it's different than regular BLs and it's fun to…
Boss and a Babe was def cute, and it should have stayed cute, but they tried for too much. Maybe you'll see what I mean as you continue watching. I feel the same about shows like Hidden Agenda, La Pluie and You're My Sky. The shows actually weren't bad at all imo, I generally enjoyed them, but I couldn't make it to the end of them because they dragged on too long, past a natural ending point. As for taking a break from ToaTS, I can't recc going back to it, if you have the patience to get through it, good for you xD
I don't know if I can go back to The Eclipse, on top of the story not gripping me, it's high school based which is another reason I didn't have an interest in it, but I look forward to seeing the role Khaotung plays in Only Friends based on what you've described. Not Me and Bad Buddy are both great shows, different though they are, so I hope Only Friends will follow in that vein. None of the pairings in these shows are faves of mine though, so I'm pretty neutral when it comes to watching them. Of course, I do understand wanting to support and encourage others to watch one's favourites! We want to share what we think is great to watch.

Yeah, tastes differ and it's always good to keep that in mind xD I know many people are big fans of certain Thai pairings, so I'm not dissing them, just saying what I prefer and what I was hoping for in this show. I like First the most out of the four we're discussing, so your comment about his role in Only Friends being unlike anything before is also encouraging. Force/Book I've only seen in A Boss and a Babe, which I dropped because it was too drawn out and redundant plot wise, but I liked the actors. As for Khaotung, I first saw him in ToaTS (which imo was so boring my eyes burned and my soul checked out, which was probably how I got to the end. I have rarely regretted watching a thing so much). Then Moonlight Chicken, which was far more enjoyable and he was okay in okay that. I actually liked him more than Mix's character tbh. And then I tried The Eclipse (because of First) but didn't make it through ep 1. But again, this is all just based on my preferences. I will start watching this soon and probably drop by to leave my thoughts!

Thank you for this helpful answer, it's encouraging enough to make me give it a try. As to which second ML, I meant Khaotung. I have seen him in other BL's and I found him a bit underwhelming. I rather like First, Force and Book, especially First, for his role in Not Me. So I was hoping to watch something engaging where they played interesting and perhaps challenging roles.

But is the acting at least on the level? I know the two main pairs from other shows and both never really wowed me acting-wise, especially the second ML. Is there any kind of plot or just wild and messy behaviour? The fact that it's different than other sounds positive at least.
It's like we didn't watch the same thing, they looked so uncomfortable to me. The boss is flirting and all but…
In the episodes before he knows Choi Jun is sincere and available to him, Lee Jun is supposed to be uncomfortable and a little awkward and even hesitant, which spans quite a few eps, so I can see why you feel that way. But he actually played it well and imo it was quite satisfying when the pay off came, especially when compared to other so called 'popular' KBL's. Besides The 8th Sense and Semantic Error, I think Jun & Jun is one to the best KBL's so far. But everyone feels differently :D
I AM HERE FOR THIS. I wish Taiwan (and maybe even China in some near future) would create more BL's. There's a certain quality to them that is different from Thailand and SK. In ep 3 I loved the smooth way ShangZhou checked Shunyu on the fact that he doesn't have an issue with same sex relationships. It was like the gate of possibility opened right then and there for SZ. And the waking up scene in ep 5? GOLD! Keen for ep 6.
Jun & Jun is probably my favourite Korean BL Even though I'm not really into office romance. I haven't watched…
I would absolutely say yes to you to try watching The 8th Sense, but it's angsty here and there so if that's not your thing you may not like it. But it's amazing imo, really fantastically done and well acted. If you watch it, I'd love to hear what you think! Jun & Jun is good, I enjoyed it. It's well done. Rating should be higher.
I'm not sure why the rating isn't higher, this show was actually really well rounded and enjoyable and the ML's chemistry and comfort levels with each other far exceeded the other Korean BL's I've seen (The 8th Sense and Semantic Error being the exceptions). Sure, maybe the 'office content' was a little heavy handed but that is a minor issue and didn't affect the quality of this imo.
Not sure why the rating for this isn't higher, this show nailed A LOT of things that other BL's lack. The acting was just a little inexperienced and so some of the dialogue and scenes seemed stiff, but the story and progression of events were good and interesting, the pairing is healthy and straightforward and likeable, as are the side characters. If they make a season 2, there's a lot of potential for improved acting. I'd be keen.
I ended up dropping this halfway through 11 BUT not because it's bad. The break I took was just too long away from watching and I couldn't get back into it the same way, possibly because I picked it up on ep 10 which felt disconnected from previous eps. This show is very well done though.
