There's something off about this series that I can't quite place. I guess it's that the premise doesn't make any…
At least he had the basic sense to use a tissue to wipe it off his thumb, I was pre-cringing at the idea of him cleaning in the way he almost did. Ick. ( ͡°Ĺ̯ ͡° ) To add to the 'offness', there's a general lack of physical boundaries almost right from the beginning on both ML's parts, which is pretty awkward from a viewer perspective. And considering it's a business/client relationship, there's been almost zero professionalism. BUT it's a BL, which is apparently an excuse to write weak plot lines 90% of the time. I've dropped two BL's this week, and I'll drop this one too if Nuea doesn't have a believable reaction to that level of inappropriate behaviour.
The 𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒 fluctuated between bad and worse in this ep, without any high points. The worst of it for me was the body pillow. The pictures on the walls are awful enough, but I can't with the body pillow. It's ick imo and just adds a whole new level of NOoOOo. 😕
And seriously, not two grown ass man with the changing of the bandaids scene. Who even... 🤣 I swear, I would have made my first ever episode rating and it would be have been a [1] if Pun had done anything other than eat those noodles with his own two functioning hands. The wound and feeding tropes are already an eyesore in BL's, but this BL managed to make it even cringier than usual . I don't even know who thought writing these interactions this way and with this dialogue and directing was a good idea.
On top of the unequal status dynamic of the ML's , which hello UNREALISTIC in all caps, even without the creepiness, the thing which makes it all ickier, is that Pun acts like 14 year old stockpiling material for his spankbank, not a college aged man maturely and seriously attracted to another person he wants to pursue. It's not cute. It's 𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐏𝐘.
Yeesh, I'm not usually one to get super opinionated or say so much excess negative stuff because BL's are not exactly breaking boundary sorts of TV shows and everything should be taken with a pinch of salt, but it's 2023 ffs. How is this a story plot that gets greenlit? Who thinks encouraging/romanticizing immature fan obsession and stalkerish behaviour is a good idea for a love story plot? Portraying a celeb inviting a staff member into his house to change his tiny finger bandaids because it's raining outside and his fingers will get wet and...and so what? Is he five? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Laughable and weird and unrealistic. And worse, having a character say 'you can always order me around', in this kind of context? Noooot appealing guys.
I get it though okay, it's probably supposed to be fun and lighthearted and whatever else and maybe Ashi is allowing all this because it'll turn out he remembers this hella obsessed kid who never got over him putting a friggen' bandaid on his knee, but to me it's just so... 🇳 🇴 🇳 🇸 🇪 🇳 🇸 🇮 🇨 🇦 🇱 and I'll be giving it a hard pass.
A'ight. I'ma head out. PS: it's my opinion, ᴅᴏɴ'ᴛ ᴄʀʏ ᴍᴇ ᴀ ʀɪᴠᴇʀ
I still haven't made it through ep 2, came back to see whether I could find encouragement to keep going, but these comments are giving me big 'drop this' energy. Sounds like it's messy.
Ngl, I almost immediately dropped this when I saw the actors from Love in the Air (not a fan of that BL) in the opening scene, but then I remembered the cover picture has different actors and I thought 'okay, it's obviously just the same writer or something, crossing over their characters, let's see where it goes'.
First ep, not too bad. The sound effects and the fact that Nuea constantly talks to himself out aloud is a bit meh, but nothing too awful. As long as it doesn't go anywhere in the 'agreeing under duress', 'non con' or 'bad fanfiction' direction, I may actually watch it to the end.
Nono, you're totally right, ep 2 is all good comedy. I'm totally into this dramatic ass show 😆 and Charn is a helluva refreshing character, that fight scene was just 😁😁 hehe
I mean i know Punn is a fan of ashi but he is like superfan based on his room and the pillow. I mean isnt he stalking…
No it's defo stalkery, you're on the money. It's a very creepy dynamic, if ep 4 doesn't clear that up somehow and put them on less stalkery, more socially, mentally and emotionally equal grounds (tall order), I won't keep watching it.
How is it creepy? Just curious cuz I haven’t seen it yet
🤣 as if I wasn't traumatized by it enough when I watched it! Honestly, when he became an adult the improvement was MONUMENTAL. I almost feel bad Earth had to play such a nagging, whining role for most of the show, man.
I might check that channel out, although honestly I was watching Vian largely because Mai Vu Luan.
Scene: Zo wipes paint off Joke's face-Me: *snorts* He's just making it worse.Zo: *starts snickering*Joke: What?Zo:…
I can't help think though, that the plot might have been more entertaining if Joke was genuinely helping Zo to get a date, maybe in exchange for genuinely wanting to improve his speaking skills by joining the debate club, and then Zo actually starts to like him first as time goes on, and the 'hidden agenda' changes characters with Zo using the dating tips Joke taught him on Joke himself, which Joke would eventually catch onto. It's still a cliche, but it's less stalkery imo.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but I guess I have higher expectations for Taiwanese BLs. I thought the…
In ep 3, Bu Xia says (in his head), that contact with Jiang Chi gives him a moment of relief. And the ghost voices in ep 3 mention that Jiang Chi is filled with positive energy so they wish they could drive him away. Seems to me he doesn't need to be touching Jiang Chi all the time, and now that now their relationship is becoming more casual and closer, which includes a lot of basic touches and proximity, BuXia will experience less instances of hearing the ghosts since Jiang Chi's constant presence is canceling out the negative energy.
I do agree that he was really into Pear, but 'was' is the operative word here. You seem to be overlooking the…
I hear you, I really do, but you came in really strong with a very forceful opinion about the story and character, without acknowledging you don't have all the info yet, ie: without knowing the full story up to ep9. Anyone who's up to date is gonna be looking at your comment askance.

This episode was fun, still tropey, but fun.
That's how I understand it anyway.
