Riiiight? Lucky if anything gets in, like hell it's coming back out 🀣
That's why I'm imagining the KY or any kind of actual lube being in Akin's house, otherwise the sex scene is impossible.

N.b: Do not attempt to use honey as lubricant for any kind of penetrative sex, you'll have a VERY bad time. πŸ˜‚

I'm just gonna assume they did in fact NOT imply the use of honey for that. Imagination take the wheel, I'm telling myself Akin had KY somewhere nearby. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I don’t understand why there always have to be a second gay couple in bl’s. It’s not realistic that everyone…
You will get nowhere with the 'straight haters', they're just as bad as 'gay haters' ie. homophobes, just on the opposite side, and they feel just as justified about their hate, but they're far deeper in denial that they're heterophobic. I already went down that rabbit hole in these comments and all they do is take anything you say, and twist it like you said something offensive. πŸ˜‚ Pointless conversations.

Agreed, there doesn't need to be a second couple. I ignore most second couples in BLs (3rd, 4th, 5th yada yada). I mean, we can't beat them and we don't want to join them, so we have to fast forward past them. There are rare exceptions, like Chen Yi and Ai Di in Kiseki: Dear to Me, I feel they overshadowed the main pair quite a bit and I was more interested in their story. And for straight couples, Yiwha and Cho from TWM were so great as a supporting pair and so likable as characters, they were a big part of the show too.

But wow, GMMTV does the worst of it with extra pairings. They literally said 'fuck any realism' and they make all friends gay, all siblings gay, all main and even side characters gay, lol. We all usually need to suspend some level of disbelief when watching BLs because at their core, they are not very realistic, so it's expected, but damn. They took that leeway and ran. πŸ˜‚

Those who have watched the new eps, what's the verdict? Have they totally de-gayed the MLs as the comments of those who watched the re-released first 8 eps informed us?

YES, that's what I been sayin'. Just use the ff button when the NPCs are on the screen ->>>>>

... Are you suggesting they should have given Chan Yeong and Ji Yu MORE screen time for better character/relationship…
For me, I'd say let the void have them, they're NPCs if I'm being honest, I had to copy and paste their names from your comment since I didn't even know them. lol I just didn't want to have to type 'the straight couple' again. πŸ˜‚

The only significance for me, regarding the best friend (Chan Yeong right?) would be that I was relieved when I realized he was NOT the ML's main love interest. Since I didn't read the webtoon, I was going in blind, not knowing who the main pair was, so I was just pleased by the outcome because I instantly liked Seung Won more with Heesu.

... Are you suggesting they should have given Chan Yeong and Ji Yu MORE screen time for better character/relationship development? I can only imagine the snow storm in the comments if they had done that πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Personally I think the less detail about Chan Yeong and Ji Yu the better, honestly, if they ended up saying 'we're a couple' in the next episode and nothing further gets elaborated on about them for a single moment more, that'd be great to me, more screen time for the MLs is a W. Side couples of all kinds are unnecessary 95% of the time imo.

Another enjoyable ep. I think it's really good that Fifa's character is not a 'spoiled' city boy character and is instead a very open-minded person who adjusts well with time and opportunity and is willing to overcome obstacles and learn about life. It makes for good character and relationship development scenes.

GMM always does series like this really well, but I have a few things I’m unsure about in the story. Both Dew…
I think it was just written to keep Day and Night's stories from being too similar, it adds some variation to their motivations and emotions when put into the position of saving what's left of the people they love. One is fighting to keep his (last?) relative alive and the other is fighting to keep the girl he (tried not to) fall in love with, alive. It's probably just for a more interesting narrative.

Of course you can share your thoughts, just as I shared mine. I haven't once suggested you stop commenting, I just commented on what you commented.

There is a difference between;
- being annoyed at seeing straight couples due to most straight people in rl having been assholes to gay people for so long to the point you've developed a dislike for them, as one would toward any asshole, and
- being uncomfortable just seeing them on screen being heterosexual with one another.

The former is just because it irritates you by being an eyesore, and the other is because it causes mental and physical unease.

All said, I'm not trying to change your mind or disregard your feelings about straight people who have been assholes to gay people. I just think a show can be better enjoyed when we try not to let some things (that don't affect the main story) bother us. Anyway, I said what I said, we can all say what we wanna say and the show will still be what it is.

Once again your entire comment is you taking things out of context to suit how you want to view it, and also adding words that were not used by me to make an argument that suits how you want to view it. πŸ˜‚
Every word here actually just reveals more and more exactly how people with your challenged, easily offended mindset are only out to create an issue where there isn't one. But it's all good. Cry me a river. I'm not going in your keyboard warrior circles. ✌️

This whole comment is just as excuse to try angst about the offense to your delicate sensibilities., but okay.

If a straight couple in a show is actually making you 'uncomfortable', you're the same as a homophobic person, just on the opposite side i.e - 'heterophobic'. Two wrongs don't make a right.

You don't seem to understand what 'straightwashed' would mean. The MAIN couple would have to have been hetero-swapped for this show to be straightwashed.

Comments on social media are made for other readers to engage and discuss, that's the point. Just say you don't understand how a discussion forum works πŸ˜‚ Anyway, by all means, go on angsting about the straight couple for the rest of show. That'll show em'! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

But if a gay couple showed up in a straight show, that wouldn't be jarring...or wait, the people who don't like gay people would find it jarring (as they often bitch about all over social media) and complain that all their 'straight shows' are now too 'woke'. for having a gay friend or gay couple on the side, and blah blah blah. It's just the same issue being made from the opposite side. Ignore the straight side couple for however irrelevant they are to you, and just enjoy the show, would be my suggestion, that's what I'll be doing (just like I ignore 95% of ALL different side couples in BLs while hoping they don't take up too much screen time).

But this is just my opinion, feel free to angst over this for the next seven episodes if it suits you to do so Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―

I'd love to see MXTX's works be fully realized, but as I stated, I would not trade TU or TS to get nothing instead, I am glad those shows were made. In the case of China, they are absolutely at fault, but censoring and ruining are two different things. TU and TS are censored, but JitD for example, is ruined and I won't watch it, even the newly released version, because they've butchered it in order to de-gay it as much as possible. So far, this adaptation has had a strong start, with great MLs. If the comments hadn't been complaining about the straight couple, I wouldn't even have noticed them.

"Do you hear yourselves? You’re admitting that gay stories aren't allowed to stand on their own. That’s a loss." - this comment is just nonsense, πŸ˜‚ you're reaching too hard to be offended because I never said that nor did I imply it πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚always snowing.

Adaptations make changes for many reasons and sometimes they do mess up, but if something canon that you love can be made and be done in a quality way, and the only 'injustice' you have to suffer is that they added a straight couple on the side to get a better budget from production and maybe reach more audiences, with the gay love story (in core homophobic SK) still being the focus, isn't that more of a win than a loss?

I wouldn't trade The Untamed or The Spirealm for the changes they were forced to make, in order to bring us those quality shows. I think SK is taking slow steps in a positive direction and falling into tit for tat tactics about 'they did it to us gay people, so we can do it to them straight people' doesn't help anyone.
