Hi! I want to ask something. What's the type of horror does this drama have? Is it the ghost and jumpscare one?…
Some jump scares, some in your face horror, some minor gore and minor violence. There are different types of horror characters too, not just the ghost element. There are also monsterish elements and bad people elements.
wth... I so loved this show but what was that ending? I never saw ppl complaining about it so I thought it was…
The ending actually depends on your perspective, you can take it as all having been real if you like. You can also read the uncensored novel to get the actual full story and proper ending.
There's always a run away hate train just waiting to leave the station, and it inevitably picks up stragglers…
Yep, over at SR, you'd swear all those train passengers are down to be with a dude who'd knock their teeth out lol. Here, they're hating on a kid who clearly has major emotional control issues and absolutely no support system at home. It makes no sense, and that's why I call the hate train, 'Destination Anywhere'
Okay...some of the hate on the character of Bua is getting downright weird. People are acting like he's as bad…
There's always a run away hate train just waiting to leave the station, and it inevitably picks up stragglers as it chugs along. I'm sure you've seen the hate train on Secret Relationships too? Destination anywhere. https://i.postimg.cc/0j2RjnML/tootoot.gif
so well said. this is not about happily ever after itβs about awkward teenage life on steroids amplified in…
Yep, the mess IS the story, it's not about teenage 'love', it's about teenage drama. I'm not sure about anyone's music taste, but this series made me dive back into my older playlists to listen to The Used's 2004 album In Love & Death. These kids remind me of the emotionally dramatic essence of that album, but in a modern Thai version. No piercings, dyed hair and tattoos for these kids, but rather stickers, accessories, rainbow vomit colour for all their clothes and...gel nails. haha. Ep 6 gave me All That I've Got vibes for ALL of them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGuteFiXKRY I'm wondering if Ep 7 will be Sound Effects & Overdramatics vibes.
I think this is the first drama that I have seen that represents young adults life as any choice seeming like…
Wow, I haven't watch Black Mirror since like, Season 2 and I hardly recall them. Heh. But yeah, it's actually not so great for newer generations because while they have more choice across the board, they're also generally not very mature when it comes to certain things (imo). Not that kids from former generations didn't go through similar shit, but the way they processed and handled it was quite different. Not necessarily well, but different than how the kids in Gelboys are managing. Social media is also a huge factor, like you mentioned, the need to not be boring, the need to stay relevant, to be seen, it consumes them, defines them, validated them. Hectic stuff. This show is great for sucking us all into it.
I think this is the first drama that I have seen that represents young adults life as any choice seeming like…
A lot of adults definitely don't have their shit together, even when they think they do, many carry their emotionally immature and over dramatic effed up teen issues right into adulthood and it can escalate as an adult. A character like Bua is the most concerning one here, if that boy doesn't figure his shit out, he's mental/emotional situation likely wouldn't improve much, if at all. On the flip side of Gelboys, I think Secret Relationships airing rn is depicting a somewhat extreme version of mental and emotional issues carrying into adulthood and how poorly they handle their shit as adults. Totally different shows and perspectives, but equally interesting to watch. Truth is, if one doesn't get a grasp on controlling their emotions in their youth, most will likely carry those issues for the rest of their lives. And I agree, for most people, teen drama is normal.
It's now been several hours after I posted my initial comment right after watching ep 6...and nope, that spastic comment is still how I feel. Love the layers in this, specifically the messy psychological layers.
I see many people still calling for pairs and nah, for me, it's not even about that. If they all end up going their separate ways at the end of ep that would make sense to me. I guess I could see Chian and Foumod ending up together, simply because Foumod seems to be gone on that dude for whatever reason, but I don't know know if Bua will even mentally survive being around these three again, he's not a very emotionally stable person. Baabin can do fine on his own probably, but if he gets rejected by Foumod, I don't think he'll find it hard to walk away from that friendship.
I am open to being surprised though, I am keen to see how this is gonna wrap up!
Holy fuck what a mess. Loved every second of it though. jfckffckfgcffjfckffcjfcfcfjfjffcfcc. The ACTING. FouMod went FULLL ugly cry man, daaayum and Faifai, tffffffuuuck....and the EScaLatIoN and lack of de-ESCALation by the end of this ep everyone's shit is all over the place. THE OUCHIE after OUCHIE. These kids are NOT ALRIGHT.
BUA buabuabuabuabua has been the least aware and in touch with himself since the beginning, kid's whole identity depends on other people's opinions of him and the camera lense, he REALLY needs to stfd and take some TIME to just exist in his body and learn who he is so that his lack of awareness and crippled emotions don't make him LiTerALly piss himself. Fucking heeeelllll. His mental to physical emotional control is FAWKD.
Baabin WWWHHHHAATAAARYOOUUUDOOOINNN.
FouMod...just, actually, siiggh, this dumbass. I almost can't with him anymore. But also, I once his head comes of his ass he'll probs do better. Maybe.
At this point, Chian seems to be the only one who has got both his feet on the ground and is walking in a straight (but very gay) line with some semblance of reason, and considering what a shitshow he's been since ep1, THAT'S a LAUGH.
I loved this, I like a show that makes me want to reach into the heads of the characters and see how badly their mental shit is fucked up. Rare. So rare in a BL of all things!! They all might need a hug, but maybe not from each other.
Okay, I'm done. Let this ridiculously spastic comment be buried, as deep and dead and these kids fundamental ability to function without self sabotaging themselves.
I did too, But i picked it back up after all the episodes had aired and it was worth it.
Can you tell me what made made it worth it? I really cannot think of any scenarios that would happen after ep10 leading up to the happy ending that I would find interesting. So spoil it for me if you could? Or anyone else.
I felt the same. Around episode 9 I got unfortunatelly bored and kept this series on hold for a few weeks. But…
Thanks for the suggestion, and I can appreciate what you're saying :) Honestly though, I can't do it. lol When I dropped The Heart Killers for the same reason, someone also tried to encourage me to push through, but the thing for me is, when I can see the outcome because it's obvious, but feel no interest in seeing how they get there, I have to tap out. For me, it means the writing failed to hold up, because a plot should keep the hook going even when we can more or less see the end. As I said, this BL isn't bad, it's just the tale they were telling lost its grip. For those who enjoyed it in the end, like yourself, it's all good too :D
This episode was LIT. Loved it. I loved watching Daon slowly but surely gaining ground verbally and emotionally against dickhead 1 and dickhead 2! AND THEN taking off the ring! I fistpumped! Fighting off that yucky fucker! I stopped cringing and fistpumped!
SO.
Su Hyeon finally put his butthurt anger to some use and helped to lift those rose goggles off Daon's eyes regarding Jae Min, hopefully now Su Hyeon will back tf off since he completed his little locomotive huffing cycle of anger/aggression/rejection/threat/anger/aggression/rejection/threat/anger...yada yada. He should see a therapist, or the inside of prison cell. Or both.
Jae Min seemed like a self solving problem by the end of ep 6, so good for that. (I don't know what the outcome will be) but hopefully it'll come in the form of 72 hour observation and then a straight jacket and a criminal mental health institute.
Both these headcases have performed criminal acts, neither of them are salvageable. Yegh.
Seong Hyeon, ah, this idiot is not a bad guy but hell if he couldn't use a therapist too, he definitely has issues, he reached an alarming level of simp for no good reason in a very short amount of time like bro, that's unhealthy AF. But his emotional dependency is nothing that Daon can't match or raise his own issues to to compare, so they can probably do okay if they end up together.
Fun! Looking forward to next week. THIS may just become my favorite (or second favourite) SK BL. It's def going on my BL recc list, the acting alone is holding a W!
can someone explain why these guys are so intensely fighting over one guy? it makes no sense,
There is no explanation in almost any BL when one ML starts chasing/simping over the other π this is the 'catch' of BL, you have to suspend a certain level of disbelief in almost every BL to make it make sense. I've watched so many BLs and with regards to adaptations, (just imo) the only character I've ever watched who was worthy of the simpage his partner dedicated to him due to everything they experienced together and how their relationship developed, was Wei Wuxian being simped over by Lan Wangji. (not sure you know who they are). The only other character more worthy of simpage would be XieLian (but sadly that adaptation never made it out the gate π)
But I digress.
In this BL, it seems to me like these 2 dickheads and Seong Hyeon just have different versions of 'damsel' syndrome πππ they just want to 'save' this smol lost soul.
Daon's saving grace as a character is that he does actually have back bone and that makes him likable < this!…
Exactly, he's standing up to this a-hole as much as he can without making the situation worse for himself. And in most of the scenes dealing with him, he shut Su Hyeon down himself, whether it's hanging up the phone or pulling away and leaving or brushing him off. They've made it pretty clear he's not about Su Hyeon's bullshit insofar as he can avoid it, and THAT makes his character worth liking.
they say soohyun goes inside with daon in ep 6, and they sleep together. will that scene be added in the drama…
This would have made things darkly interesting, to have seen the different circumstances under which he slept with each one, whether it was voluntary or under duress or due to guilt, or if he had earnest feelings for each one somehow in the moment, or if he would just be placating them that way. That would have been a shitstorm, but an entertaining one for sure. Although, it would have made Daon totally unlikable, spineless characters are always shitty. Is Daon spineless in the webtoon? Hm, interesting how they've adapted it here.
i saw some people saying that suhyeon was green flag and now i'm wondering if they're watching the same bl as…
It's just the rose goggles and vapid fantasy ideals that makes them say that, if they're ever dumb enough to date a twat like that they'll probably wake up quickly after he smacks them around some and lands them in hospital.
Daon has to have the worst luck to have somehow managed to land not one BUT TWO headcases like Jae Min and Su Hyeon being so psycho-obsessed with him. What absolute twats the pair of them are lol, they really should have dated, they deserve each other. As for Seong Hyeon, boy better be able to throwdown if he wants to stand up to Angry Thomas the Tank Engine's huffing and puffing, I hope he can fight ffs, cause someone needs to punch that dickhead Su Hyeon in the face.
Daon's saving grace as a character is that he does actually have back bone and that makes him likable, he's not some miserable do-as-he's-told fool, not for Su Hyeon and he probably won't be for Jae Min either once the rose goggles come off. If he'd been a weak character, this show would have been all downhill, but he knows the word 'no' and uses it!
I have been pleasantly surprised by this show, I went in with 0 expectations and I'm on episode 5, thoroughly entertained and keen for more! It helps that the acting is good too!
I was wondering, what kind a people who don't like ThamePo...Apparently some who love BL like LITA, no wonder,…
As someone who dropped and rated that garbage LITA 4.5, your comment is both effortlessly asinine and totally worthless to me π Keep Calm and Whine On βοΈ
