Ep4: Kim Su Hyeon is so embarrassingly pressed LMFAO I am thoroughly enjoying watching this dickhead huff around like a steam locomotive 😂 literally laughing out loud every time he gets ignored and dismissed. He's lowkey making himself an ass with all this huffery and puffery 😂😂😂

That's what I saw, he was certain he was supposed to emotionally broken but then we was just not feeling it. At least he discovered his flare for the dramatic.

About the singing, I guess I figure if Foumod was actually a good singer, his socials and popularity would be way more, he'd be more popular than Bua for sure if he was a 'hot' guy, singing well and playing in a popular local band. I think that him being too popular would have made his personality (the character required for this messy story) quite different, way more confident and with a different social circle. So him being interested in riding the BTS and getting his nails done with his odd band of buddies, etc wouldn't have matched a more sociably popular character, and he'd have FAR better options than Chian. The music is hard on the ears though, no cap.

Dropped @ 10. Far from the worst BL, I just got bored, it became too drawn out and predictable.

With regards to Foumod liking Chian (who I personally do not like as a character) I think his 'like/interest is meant to be shallow in reality (to the viewer), but for the character, it's exaggerated in the eyes of a teen. I saw it as Foumod liking how 'cool' he thought Chian was, being an older boy with a bunch of weird 'trendy' things going on on social media, and he obviously thinks the nails are something special. Also, according to the show (and casting), Chian is supposed to be attractive (that detail will have tor remain entirely based on subjective opinions of what is 'attractive'). By episode 5, I think Foumod maybe likes Chian's actual personality (which seems to be insecure and vulnerable from what was depicted here), but the fog of 'newness' was wearing off and Foumod was starting to take logical steps back to protect himself (however small they were).

My viewpoint on his sexuality, and it really probably is just me; I found the scene in the beginning where he was crying and stopping to be funny at first and then odd when I thought about it, watched it again and yep, to ME he seemed to TRYING to cry about the breakup but wasn't really feeling any sadness, only anger at not being chosen. The series has 2 episodes to prove me wrong and it may just turn out he goes both ways, but I think that last time he stopped crying and stared into the middle distance in confusion, our boy had a realization of 'wait, why don't I really feel sad, am I missing something?'. I mean, his entire appearance was subdued compared to the time skip after the break up. So I just chalked it up to being the first step to figuring out what he may or may not be into. Maybe I'm giving the writing layers in credit where it's not due. We'll just have to see.

The music is bad and yet unlike where I usually skip through all the singing in Thai BLs (there really is too much of it), I let it play because it felt authentic, instead of being like Foumod went from being a highschool band side hobbyist to being a professionally produced musician between one blink and the next once he started singing and playing. They're just a bunch of kids vibing to whatever, trying to stay relevant amongst their peers.

I will again vouch for it, it just gets better and better. The acting and nuance of their spastic teen emotional struggles are all very well depicted and cringe and aggravating and hilarious all at once, even relatable for different people, engaging with memories of youth for people who are past that phase of life but remember it well.

Fou4Mod (the ML you mention) is an entertaining gem of a character and if you stick it out, his story will catch you right in the feels in the best way. The whole cast does a great job with acting and dialogue for sure.

I really don't think you'll regret watching it, but as mentioned, that's what 'dropped' is for!

Ironically, while I feel the pre 2020 era was better for Thailand, I still dropped or skipped many BLs during that time because I didn't like the stories/plots, but then, I still do that for a lot of BLs now, not just Thai. So I haven't watched any of those you mentioned except Together With Me (I assume you meant?) which is one of my faves to this day.

Thailand can do better, they've just reached a point where they prefer making money on 'ships' and actors, so the stories/directing/acting etc all falls by the way side to pander to fans faves. That's why Gelboys feels like a lot like relief.

If we're honest though, some adults be doing the same dumbshit. 😂😂

Spastic teenage emotions = zero sense 😂

As someone who drops many BLs (from all countries) , this BL is a treat and relief from tropeland, and that rating is deserved.

This is filmed more like pre 2020 Thai BLs, it's so much better in format and story and acting, and even realism for the situation these emotionally spastic kids are facing. It's been a treat honestly.

Many Thai BLs (and other Japan and SK BLs) are not worth watching, that is true.
But I will vouch for Gelboys, a surprise for 2025. If you feel inclined to give it a shot you might also be surprised. It's filmed like Thailand's pre 2020 BLs, so it's not obnoxiously drowned in tropes, make up and other predictable bs catering to the sensitive masses. Just a recc to consider. You might hate it too, to each their own, but that's what 'dropped' is for.

Ep 1: They need to make more BLs shot in this natural filming style with natural dialogue. It's such a relief without the annoying slow mo shots and excess music, too much make up and overdone cinematography most BLs aim for now. I really enjoyed the film style, even besides enjoying the first ep.

I feel like this was written by an SK fangirl.
- Lots of fan sympathy and 'appreciate your fans' stuff in this
- Minimal cutesy gay contact over all for the dudes (in keeping with SK fangirls low key homophobic default setting)
- Shallow plot with very poor attention to actual detail (I mean calling this a soccer themed BL is a reach) They sure wore those soccer fits often enough, the writer probably thinks it looks hot.
- More focused on 'looks' of the idols and soccer players
- Stupid online revenge drama for the characters, blowing dumb shit out of proportion (as SK fans usually do)
- Celebs falling for fans

😂 heh

But anyway, it didn't totally suck, the eps were not too long and it was entertaining enough. 7/10

Ep 9: The whole scene with Thame hiding in the wardrobe and the discovering Po was keeping his ex's things had me laughing 😂 It's also good that Thame's reaction wasn't overdramatic, instead he was just just the right side of upset for this situation. Because while objectively I can see how someone would get angry about that stuff, over all I personally agree with Po, if the clothes are comfortable, wear them, if the cup isn't broken use it. That's just being practical imo. And also, yes, I agreed with Po being easily able to get rid of it, they should be totally tossable (or donatable) without a fuss. The whole scene was well done, well handled, and funny.

The sandwich shop thing was a bit extra though 😂
Po's 'alrighty then' attitude made the whole thing quite chill.

Episode 7:
Pepper: Are you sure there's chemistry?
Nano: Uh huh..........I'm trying to look for it.

Ep 6: Ngl, episode 6's ending with the walking back and forth, back and forth, was really not the 'sweet/cute' serve they thought it was. I got annoyed just watching it. If anyone irl could endure that, their patience level would be supernatural.

This BL is pretty fookin nonsensical, but also fun to watch, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
