They way Isumi started daydreaming about the idea of putting a bow on himself and after he snapped out of it he got mad and called Rihito an idiot for giving him the idea, like, his frustration was so genuine ππ
Well...I hope Gao Tian Yang at least gets with Little Pepper by the end of this show. He's so goofy, attractive and sincere. Like, how has she not noticed him yet?

It's not that he did not like her as a person in the novel, it's just that she was much colder and more reserved in canon when compared to how they wrote her in the series for the no-homo agenda. I remember before the show aired, there were behind the scenes leaked of WW and WQ characters acting friendly, which is not in the novel, and fans immediately attacked the showrunners because they thought they were going to write a het romance into the show with one ML. Thankfully, the showrunners had no such intention, they just had to change WQ's character and make her friendly so she could have more scenes with the ML in order to pass censorship.
The novel doesn't have that much scene of Wen Qing but they included so much scenes of her in this drama. I don't…
The emphasized inclusion of a female character is typical of a Cn censored BL, it's like a layer of no-homo that they add in. You'll notice it's quite common in other CN media with a pair of MLs too. They do it in Cn non BL as well, where there is supposed to be actual bromance (just good friends), they still add in, or put more emphasis on, an existing female character in order to not have the MLs spending too much time together in case fans want to read more into the relationship. It'd be funny if it wasn't so sad. The Cn government is very, very butthurt about gay stuff.
i hope some of the plot hole will be explain. cause why would joker steal if his family had money ?? how did he…
I'll stick with the definition of plot hole, and no sure, in BL suspension of disbelief is a must, but it's also fine to point out things that don't make sense in a show, even when we choose to overlook them for the sake of being entertained. In this case, it's not hurting the show at least.

Plot hole definition: a gap or inconsistency in a storyline that goes against the flow of logic established by the story's plot.
That entire robbery scene was riddled with illogical inconsistency. And people are asking me to list the other plot holes, I don't have time to go back through the two eps and makes notes of them. But it doesn't matter, if they're obvious to some and not to others it's fine, just enjoy the show.

The ending is definitely open to different interpretations, I'm more of a face value, literal viewer, so I take the ending as I saw it while keeping in mind what was likely going on in production. If I ignore production limitations, then interpretation is sure to change. Which ever version anyone likes best is up to them! βοΈπ

When I watched this when it came out in Feb, I started reading the novel at the same time. I finished the novel first, because the original is generally always best and I liked the ending.
With regards to the series, I find the ending of Jiushi stating he will find a way to recreate The Spirealm a much more positive and anticipatory ending than the no-homo time skip they chose. Whereby, in the end he's too old for being gay and in love to matter, and he was about to kick it because he's so old, as was the point of trying to make a last minute concession for censorship. So for me, not watching that final 8 minutes still created a superior ending, even without reading the novel.

From a possible writer's perspective, I actually wouldn't be surprised if they made Sea kiss him first to avoid any 'older guy making the first move on younger guy/power imbalance' bs backlash from a certain faction of BL fans who take issue with large age gaps. π€¦ββοΈ

You can stop before the final 8 minutes of the final episode. Then switch to the novel, you can either either read from chap 130 for the entire 11th door in the novel which is vastly different than the series, or you can skip to the end of chap 139 and read through to the end, both these points in the novel can kind of blend into the end of the series before the final 8 minutes, and spare you the censorship cop out.
