This series is only at 2 episodes, there's still a high chance of the ratings increasing once we get the rest…
Yes umasou007, since you have spoken, then I guess we do have some hope. Lets see. I know your calculation back there makes a lot of sense. Its true many are rating it at 7-8. A few 7-7.5 is enough to cause this downslide. I'm simply not willing to worry about ratings anymore. Ratings are making me feel more anxious nowadays. π
I would go just a slight step beyond- yes he cares for Pat, but I think he was in love with him back in high school…
Yes I too am worried about the same. Some people are craving for angst, but I dont know. I am not ready for all this. I keep feeling sorry for Pran all this time. If this really happens, I will be devastated too . His mother does seem like a stern and controlling person
A user named nattawins posted the reason behind Pran's actions in episode 2 on Tumblr. Posting it here for better understanding of the show. Do give it a read if you want. Warning for those who haven't watched till episode 2!! SPOILERS AHEAD !!!!!!
The fact that Pran is so immediately affected by whatever Pat's dad says about him makes so much sense when you think about the flashback: They were friends. Secretly they did not have an antagonized view of the other despite their families being at odds.
So when his parents dragged him away from Pat at the slightest suspicion of them being on amicable terms, Pran had nobody to turn to .....
Neither Pat nor his parents.
In time, because he could not understand these complex and conflicted emotions himself, he started to blame himself for letting his heart wander. It would've been easier if he could just hate Pat like his parents wanted him to, but by breaching the boundaries his parents had drawn for him, he had only ended up hurting himself. So he turned all those complicated emotions that he felt for Pat into a shield of maturity and indifference to protect himself and stop himself from feeling anything.
But seeing Pat after three years causes an upsurge of those painful emotions that he had buried with so much care. He tries to be as apathetic as possible but in his heart he knows this, as he did back in high school:
He does not hate Pat. He could not.
So hearing Pat's father bring up the past, twists all those long suppressed emotions out of him and almost makes him choke with frustration and a sadness he never understood (that slight waver in nanon's voice when he says......
"That's fine, just forget it"
while staring directly ahead at Pat, god such impactful acting) -- a sadness, from my personal perception of Pran's character, that stems from Pran's belief that he has always cared more about Pat than Pat has cared about him.
Damn, the rating is really dropping like a bag of heavy stones. Seems people arent enjoying this as much? Hopefully,…
I love it to the core of my heart. It's the first time I felt myself invested in a Thai bl. It's not like they just meet and start hitting on each other and fall in love.
The drama has a pretty decent backstory. Although they have known each other for a long time, they are unable to interact freely under parental pressure. Unknowingly ,they have been harbouring love for each other for years. What is cliche about this plot I dont understand till now.
I know its not easy to please everyone. If we all keep on worrying about the ratings we won't be able to enjoy the drama. Its okay even if a few viewers genuinely love and cherish Bad Buddy.
Its better if we leave the fate of Bad Buddy to the viewers.
The drama is Bad Buddy. Pran and pat were busy fighting throughout their lives. And here we are fighting it out in the comment section. Just felt funny. π
It's good that I get to interact with so many bl watchers around the world and know their views. :-)
My friends hardly watch bl, so I feel good chatting with the viewers here.
Right. Many people will miss out on this show due to the poor ratings. If this keeps up , the ratings might as…
But don't you think that perceiving someone as gay just because they are girly is wrong ? This is the problem with many Thai bl dramas.
It is basically stereotyping that any man having excess of feminine features will be counted as gay. Someone might be weak or small or vulnerable, but that doesn't mean he will automatically like men by default. I think physical appearance should not be counted as sexual preference. It is one's own choice.
I know, that is the way it is depicted in most Thai bls and I think thats pretty wrong.

Yes, somewhere in youtube I read that some fans think that the leading men are short and that the story has nothing new to offer. So I am not exactly sure about what they were hoping to see .
Someone's really just hate rating this show at this point. It may have flaws but it's definitely above an 8 by…
Right. Many people will miss out on this show due to the poor ratings. If this keeps up , the ratings might as well reach 7.9 at this rate. Breaks my heart.
I read somewhere , some fans had something against the leads being short and the plot being cliche. But even if it's cliche, it's enjoyable and entertaining , right?
I've seen many thai bls. But I have never felt invested in any show (apart from ATOTS) like this one. Makes me sad.
It happens with most shows. Expect the rating to drop even lower as more people watch and rate it.
Agreed, lets wait and see. Hopefully the audience will start to love it once the rivalry between the two gangs is over. Until then we can draw others attention by commenting here. π
People who are rating this drama low without any reason should get a life.
I think the actors in this bl are doing a pretty convincing job portraying the hidden pain and love they have harboured for years. You can feel it in their glances.
Sorry chief Phupha and tian, I think I love Pran and Pat more.
More people need to appreciate and support this show. Inspite of having the usual Engineering college setup , this show has a really good plotline, explosive chemistry between the leads and excellent music. Bad buddy is really a class apart from the rest.
Hopefully Thailand will produce more quality BLs like this one in the coming years.
Yess, certainly a bl worth dying for. I simply love this show. The chemistry of the leads coupled with marvelous directing skills of the director.......this show is bound to be the next MASTERPIECE. I look forward to fridays nowadays.

Love is love. Why always label people in love as top, bottom, husband , wife and what not?
Apparently most of these alpha males also tend to control their partners as you rightly pointed out, and as a result the show turns out to be toxic.
I sincerely wish that more people will come to watch Bad Buddy and realise how good the show really is.

Kieta Hatsukoi has a lot of international fans.
This episode was subbed faster than the previous ones.
Hopefully more people will watch Kieta Hatsukoi and come to realise how awesome this show is.
