ok but shan chong is famous in his field, how can her mom say no.
I don't think the mom is looking for fame unless it is tied to something traditional and steady like a well-known CEO or industry leader etc...Maybe a golf player could be acceptable.
Sadly, that is shaping up to be the big problem. Ideally, things will be sorted out by Wei Zhi winning the comic…
That would be great, but even when Wei Zhi made her A Zhai name super popular and she could already be considered a success, her mother didn't take her seriously. She just dwelled on the negatives.
I guess we just have to wait and see...I hope we get a satisfactory ending even if it is likely to be a rushed one. 23 episodes seem too short!
Wow, this show is really on the express lane! Episode 15 preview showing them moving along quite fast but of course we will have a big obstacle in the shape of WZ's MOM...
Ep 13 was so good - the setting for the important scene was so beautiful! And I love that Wei Zhi was not acting all shy and demure like most FLs. Her "take charge" attitude was refreshing.
Plus I love that Shan Cong included her "gibberish" as one of the reasons ❤️❤️❤️
I am on episode 3, and I am trying to get used to the FL. It's not that her acting is bad, but there's something about her that just does not fit a historical saguek. So far, I like none of the characters except the male lead. He's trying his best against everyone, including his mother and grandmother, who are trying to control his life and actions. There's not even a decent minister that he can count on; everyone is so manipulative. Still I am going to hang in there and hope that I can get my initial dislike of the FL.
i hate that dramas let the villains survive til the end and the good people suffer until the last few episodes.…
You're right - she has been triumphing over them but those villains are like cockroaches, they just keep coming back! There's no rest for Jiang Si or Yu Jin as they are constantly having to deal with them :(

Exactly...the screenwriters should research dramas that have been successful. Most of them have the good people winning their battles despite the evil scheming of the villains. The fact that the villains in this show keep coming back and thinking they can power-trip each time >:(...so frustrating...
Worth the past few hours binging from ep 28 - 32. 👍 Watching the couples especially! I just wish we could see the Princess Royal and that Mingyue get their punishments sooner...because of them, I dislike the emperor.
Sorry, but I cannot feel bad for him. As far as I know, he has not once told her how he feels.
I think between Wei Zhi's mum and him, they've made it pretty clear that he is going to marry her. In this day and age, I cannot believe the mom and he still think that they can force someone into marriage!
Right? It is so frustrating to see him constantly acting like the third wheel, claiming "our Wei Zhi this, our Wei Zhi that.." when he obviously does not know her at all
So creepy! On the surface, he seemed so encouraging, telling her that she's great at everything, but he's obviously not sincere if he cannot even tell her the truth about her skills.

Finally, some reality check for Jiang Yiming!
Still I am going to hang in there and hope that I can get my initial dislike of the FL.
