omg ! I'm crying so much. I hope that one eyed guy will burn in hell's flames ! Keep strong Mr. Zhang !! Keep…
Me too! I wasn't expecting it. Throughout the show, there was never such injustice - I guess the show really wanted to leave us with a deep impression. I really hope that there is a season 2.
I just cannot with this Emperor...I am only at ep 39 but I really hope to see his end. On a different note - how cool were the Gold Gongs....Yang yan never fails to make an entrance!
Can someone spoil me - did the one eyed evil scum die at least?!
Ep 38 - The conversation between XQA and Commissioner Zheng at the noodle stand was so poignant. Good acting by both - their expressions spoke volumes!
Yea, Xu Qian has good relationship with the female characters in this drama, and they are all well written with…
Exactly! It's rare that I like almost all the characters in a show. This show is so well-written, well-directed, well-acted, well-executed,....well-everything!
Argh, I cannot wait for the gang to take down that Duke!
On a side note, I really like how the show handles male-female relationships. There are many female characters but they are so well-written, and individually, they are likable. With XQA, it is clear that there is only one love interest and I never got any romantic vibes from his interactions with the other women. They are all great buddies. Not having any hint of jealousy or love triangles makes it more enjoyable for me to watch the action.
I love the dynamics between Li Miaozhen and Chu Yuan Zhen, and between Yang Yan and Nangong as well.
Lol all his excuses that he makes… i am glad mu dan can understand him 🤣Liu chang needs to learn how to stand…
Mudan said it so well and it was so nice to see her so blunt with LC. With JCY on the other hand, she's always using reverse psychology since she understands him so well :D
Yea but he was saying too much, hinting to the princess the Mu Dan is and not was alive. I hope she doesn't make…
True, I was afraid that the princess would have someone follow him and find out. Heck, it's probably going to happen - she will discover the truth and poor Mudan will have some tough times ahead :(
Ah, this Jiang Chang Yang can turn every romantic gesture into something about making money. If you want to take her out on a date, then take her out...no need to tell her that it was so that she could learn more business tricks :D
As pathetic as Liu Chang is, I was glad to see him stand up against the Princess. I am sure he will suffer later though...Bravo to Miles for tacking this character instead of his usual aloof but green flag ML roles.
I started this drama because I wanted to check out another show directed by Deng Ke. His current show, Guardians of the Dafeng, is an excellent one. Miss S is also another fun watch to watch and I love the stylish fashion. The leads' chemistry is good, and GWG's physique pairs so perfectly with petite MYL.
I am on the fence about MYL. At times, she acts just fine as the flamboyant, daring, reactive, wealthy socialite Su Wen Li, but other times, she tends to overact quite a bit. Her FL character has gotten on my nerves a few times because she definitely has a thick drama plot armor and does whatever she wants but still gets away with everything, including defying the police, trespassing, stealing, breaking and entering, as well as breaking out of jail. Still, she is an entertaining character, and MYL looks gorgeous in all her outfits.
GWG's ML character is my favorite because he tries his best to keep the FL in check but so charmingly fails each time. I suppose I am biased since I have always liked him but he certainly looks very dashing in his three-piece-suit.
Many of the supporting characters are quite flat and lack depth. They are ok to watch, though.
Overall, the plot is interesting, and some of the cases do pique one's interest. Other cases are predictable, which causes the pacing of the show to suffer. Sometimes, the story drags, and after the case is done, the story picks up again.
My main rant is about what happens during eps 28 - 30, when the show starts to lose steam, and everyone is acting stupid or sloppy, including our intelligent leads. It feels like they are trying to move the story along and wrap it up but ano longer have ideas about how to keep the plot smart.
In general, I would recommend this drama - it is enjoyable to watch for the most part, and if nothing else, you can enjoy the fabulous fashion and the sexy, slow-burn romance between two attractive people.
Nahh Xinnian is getting scammed Simu is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy to smart for him and that innocent family. Xu Qian was…
I am all caught up on Flourished Peony mainly because it's less angsty (for now) compared to Moonlight Mystique or The Blossoming Love. Plus I like Yang Zi and Li Xian together. I think they are better now compared to Go Go Squid, haha!
I am about 6-7 episodes behind on Moonlight Mystique and The Blossoming Love. I still enjoy them, but I can wait until the weekend to binge some episodes. Bailu and Ao Rui Peng have great chemistry, which is not surprising; it is Bailu, after all.
All three shows are all kind of predictable but still good watches. I am just not sure whether we will get happy endings for Moonlight Mystique and The Blossoming Love. I am getting the usual Xianxia and Xuanhuan vibe where we don't know what will happen in the end.

Even in the most serious moments, the show is so creative!

LOL - Lord Wei tricked XQA by his play on words.
Lord Wei can still look cool while pouting...
