I wish I started this earlier. Just finished ep 6 and I just love watching Xuan Lie looking at Qi Luo with pride and admiration. He looks so good simping!
I know there will be angst but I hope there will sweet moments for our couple too.
Shimin and Luo Zhi Zhou are easy on the eyes too. But I don’t like the Princess - reading the comments that she hasn’t improve in the recent episodes.

People can say whatever they want to other male leads but Chai An hasn’t done anything particularly bad. Yeah…
Ah that's a relief. I am not sure I can watch them going back and forth as enemies when they should be a power couple together.

So true and it is unfortunate that people during those times marry so young. They clearly have not become adults and in a way, their families are not helping. The husband's a mama boy who makes the decisions for him, and the wife's family only teaches to become a shrew, someone who tricks, lies and manipulates the husband. No one to teach them about communication, partnership and supporting each other.

The mother has had a hard life but she's also likely a peasant who married a farmer. It's all implied in not so…
I feel like the 1st and 2nd sisters are pretty refined and the 3rd sister can act all proper if she wanted to. It's the last two which perhaps are too young and bratty.

I remember Q saying thast she was able to escape by taking a pot or vase and hitting her attacker's head. But yeah, I should rewatch too in case I missed something.

Lol calm down and give some breathing room to trolls....
LOL, you're right! I think I was more annoyed by ep 7 and had to vent about the women's behavior :D

Well, the family made sure that all 5 daughters learned the skills of noble ladies so I assume some refinement and proper behavior and etiquette should have been passed down. I may be wrong but it looks like the daughters know the proper behavior but often tried to persuade the mother. Her temper however was her downfall.

I think it is expected for a widowed daughter-in-law to stay with the family so even though it was kind of her to take QN in when she was young, she was expecting her to be her daughter-in-law. It would truly be heartless if she threw her out after her son's death. However, her bias is clearly shown. Even her own daughter had to tell her not to treat QN as the servant.

QN did not lose her virginity by the way - she managed to escape but her reputation was ruined. The mother started beating her first and would onlt stop after the daughters stopped her. She only changed her attitude after QN tried to kill herself.

2nd sister never did beat up her husband. She controlled her anger her by biting on those silver thing she showed…
No she did - the first episode, when Chai An met him, he had a huge bruise on his cheek. That was her. Then the second time, she did not hesitate to draw her sword to beat him up if it wasn't Chai An on the bed. Then after she found out about him tricking her before saving her, he was banished to the chicken coop.

I would say that classifies as abuse whether it is a woman or man who did it.

Chai An is actually my favorite character and maybe the only one for now in the show. He's the only one who has really been sincere and honest. He does not mince his words but he is also not easy on himself. He is accountable and responsible.
I thought Kang Ning saw all of that and responded to him so I was incredibly disappointed in her quick turnaround to then trick others into marrying her. Incredibly frustrating. Now she is trying to hang on to that Du guy which I thought was much more suited for the elder sister.
I have a feeling the show is going to do a big loop, pairing the wrong people up until the end when the perfect matches finally find each other.

I think her father was a mechant who was also quite learned. She loves her daughters but I cannot stand her bias, especially towards Qiong Nu. Yes, QN is not her real daughter but still, to be that obvious and unkind.

I guess she is really like the Mrs. Bennet in Pride and Prejudice. Someone quite unlikable but still redeemable because of her love for her children.

Kang Ning don’t deserve Chai An.
Totally agree. I honestly thought that she was sincere towards him, but how easily she turned, marketing herself for marriage. And now even holding the scholars hostage, trying to trick them into wanting to marry. The whole literature competition was a joke, with her pretending behind her older sister's skills.
On Perfect Match Jan 27, 2025
Why are people not holding the female characters accountable for their scheming and trickery? Don't tell me they condone wives beating up their husbands, and manipulating them into submission.

I think the men should be punished too, and at least the husband was. In fact he never got away with anything.

Like Kang Ning said, "let's see which evil prevails", acknowledging that both sides are doing the same to each other. If people are condemning the men, let's be fair and expect the women to be better than they were so far.

Ep 7 really put me off with the mother irritating me the most. I get that she has had a hard life but must the show portray her as being so crude, shallow, gullible, greedy and just plain unpleasant? Her daughters are following in her footsteps, no one sincerely trying to find their soul mates but resorting to marketing and again scheming and trickery to get a husband. Now they are holding scholars hostages and coming up with ways to make the scholars want to marry them.

I agree with @luffy - Kang Ning does not deserve Chai An.

Thanks! I am on ep 4, and I can tell that even though she is using him, she is also little curious about him and much less hostile. Gonna try and catch up with everyone else!
I already added the OSTs to my Spotify playlist :D

I’m just starting ep 3. Too soon to judge the plot but so far so good and I can understand why so many comments about SW.L. He is really attractive as Xuan Lie! And Angelababy is just as gorgeous! I also love the opening and ending OSTs - the ending one is so romantic!

Could someone please spoil for me?
When do the leads start working together or at least the FL stop treating the Ml as an enemy?
Thank you!

The evil CEO is temporarily perfect for the evil Chairman. It's crazy how he just fully accepted her idea when…
That’s such a great point! Surely he realizes that she will betray him just as easily 😡

Both Chairman and CEO are disgusting. Can’t wait to see them go down but I will feel bad for the grandson, the SML.

Ep 8 was great and I continue to like Ji Yun a lot. How she stands up for herself and sticks to her principles. I really want to see the downfall of the other CEO who has no morals at all. I hope the show does not gloss over that part.
Eun Ho is now on my list of top favorite green-flag MLs - I mean, who cannot love that guy? Just looking at him makes me feel all warm, fuzzy and safe. No wonder Ji Yun feels secure and comforted with him around.

After ep 7, I really like the FL. She owns her feelings and doesn't whine or bitch, or blame others. She's candid and intuitive, drawing lines for herself and then also with the SML before it gets too uncomfortable. I am so happy that the ML has a good friend who gives him great advice and that he actually listens.

As for the second couple, it's predictable as heck but I do like them together. So much more suitable for each other.
