You pointed out the one thing I don't like about this couple. Seems like Kang Ning has not developed her character as much. She behaved as badly as he did, but there was no expectation for her to apologize or also humble herself. Yes, that was totally the rain scene (if you watched the movie with Keira Knightley). I wish they also showed the sunrise scene, him declaring his love again. But this version was enjoyable in its own devilish way.
So much like Pride and Prejudice for Kang Ning and Chai An. I thought this show adapted well, incorporating the cultural aspects because, in Chinese society, it is all about the family and not usually individual choices. Featuring the mothers and the daughters, with everyone assessing one another, judging, and taking sides. It was a lovely messy affair to watch.
