Yeah, I think we were lulled into a false sense of security since he has not gotten hurt since. However, with that incident, Dou Zhao noticed his grey hair and now his hand healing too slowly, it's most likely that he was poisoned before
Yes, we suspected that he was poisoned after he was beaten up by his father. People were commenting that the stick used to beat him had poison on it. Then Dou Zhao remarked that his blood was so dark, almost purple, when she bandaged him.
I started off really liking this drama. Each episode kept me at the edge of my seat, and I loved the intensity of the characters, the fierce competition in the harem, and the power struggle for the throne.
In the film, Davika and Tui were excellent in their portrayals, and Fern, whose character Tanyong was one of my favorites, also did an amazing job.
The last few episodes disappointed me since the FL got dumbed down and manipulated by others. She’s lucky she still had someone looking out for her but it was frustrating to see her being easily manipulated.
To be honest, I was rooting for a different outcome for the love triangle, a more romanticized version where the King and the FL actually fell in love or even better, the FL remained as the Queen Mother with Lady Noi by her side…but that was only my wishful thinking since this lakorn is based on historical events.
The ending raised my rating because I liked how they did it, and ultimately this show was worth my time watching.
Agree, it got draggy the 1st half but story gets better after ep 23. My favorite part is the wedding scenes and…
Agree! The show picked up for me after ep 13 but then it got draggy again. Then after ep 23, it got back on track again. You're right, the show is more interesting when the leads are together. It was getting tedious watching JYY trying to prove that she can do it all alone.
I enjoy this show the most when I can binge the episodes. I watched episodes 22- 28 today, and YJL blew me away with his fighting scenes, his confession, and how he's so sweet towards JYY and supportive of her.
It got a bit draggy for me, seeing JYY constantly being attacked and pressured from all sides so I am glad that we were able to move past that and get some happy, loving scenes for now.
The bigger angst is coming as villain Bai is plotting his way toward getting JYY but I look forward to it! Jin Chao is acting well as Bai - I can really see his dilemma about his agenda versus his feelings for JYY.
I think they might change his nature in this drama... however he is carrying a black cat with him... which indicates…
I was wondering if they would follow the novel for his storyline. Even though Song Mo changed things for himself when he was older, he did not change the events for his brother who still grew up in the Ying household. The father was still evil, so it is anyone's guess at this point about Song Han...
Ep 6 was excellent from the start to the ending credit scene ❤️ I love the pacing of this show, which lulled us into smiles and sweetness before throwing in some tension.
YYS and CSB - their acting was phenomenal, facial expressions and voices - just so good!
The plot is so well written, and the way they weaved in the romance, using the phone and all...brilliant! Now Mr. Kang is the love advisor and given how much he adores his own wife, he's a good choice!
We got a hint on who the accomplice may be on the inside...I agree with everyone who thought he was sus...

I feel bad for Song Mo though - he has no one he could consider as his family then...
