Ep 19, like Ep 18, was excellent! Building up our and Song Mo's anticipation multiple times, only to tease us with the previews for the next episodes. Even though the events did not work out like Song Mo wanted, the scenes were still wonderful, showing the strength of their relationship and love.

So, two more couples are forming, one for Zhang Ru and the other for An Su?

I wonder if Song Han is an actual villain - so far I have only seen hints of him being a good person but I guess we will see...

Ep 18 was so well executed! The directing, the acting, the music, the dialogue....everything!

The planning and maneuvering between the leads shows how dangerous this power couple could be when they work together.

So many great scenes, including how the "red tassels" still ended up on the tree, how he scooped her up at the fire scene, the father-daughter scenes, her uncle...❤️❤️❤️

I also like the music editing—using instrumental music as a background to meaningful dialogue is so much better than playing an OST, which, at times, could drown out the words.

Now onto ep 19!

So glad I found this gem on Netflix and both seasons are available. Just finished season 1 and thoroughly enjoyed it!

I used to think the empress might be one of the villains but I’m not sure anymore. She, like Princess Shude did our couple a big favor!

Such sweetness from Song Mo today…ah the whole episode was satisfying! But I’m greedy, I wanted Dou Zhao to say, “why wait 5 days, do you have a red tassel now?” ❤️

I’m surprised the Emperor didn’t give poor Dou Shi Ying a clue. He’s pretty decent, not like the usual meddling emperors.

Goodness, I would not like novel JiYong - especially if he fancies himself to be Dou Zhao's partner. In the show, he's shown in the present life that it was fine for others to be harmed as long as it justified his purposes.

I wonder why he was who he was in the past life...

That's the trigger for him to want to DO SOMETHING.. lol But his plan was a terrible one!

Agreed - usually I don't watch mini series but that got a lot of attention so I am glad I watched it. That's when I knew of Ryan Cheng too and he was awesome in MJTY as well!

This director impressed me when I watched A Familiar Stranger.

Agreed - he irritated me even more when he continued to scold Dou Zhao, and thinking that his plan was a good one. That lack of awareness is unbelievable!
