You make a good point about the male characters and Anning too treating DZY like she is so fragile...She has shown that she was perfectly capable on her own but all three of them with their guilt didn't realize that...

She was noble idiocy at its best...I wish the show did better by her character - instead of portraying her as a victim of guilt the whole time she was in the capital

Naturally, as the viewers, we prefer the FL to be more dignified but I actually don't mind the hysterics...
After all she just regained consciousness thinking that she was able to save LMX's life because she reclaimed Qingnan city. She rushed to the execution place only to find out that she was too late. Kind of realistic to be honest for her to break down at that time.

I actually thought DZY did pretty well in these episodes because she was a strategic general, strong and commanding of the Di troops who only answer to her. Yet at the same time, they showed her human side, her reaction to the loss of the one person she trusted throughout her life.

I do agree that the theme about all must protect and save DZY was lame.

She didn't know it was Hanye who saved LMX...since in his letter, LMX made it sounded like he saved himself. Regardless, we know that she was putting on a front when she looked like she was going to cry as she was walking away from him

Yes, that was one of my favorite scenes of Gong Jin - expressing so much sorrow in a controlled restrained way

A Dou 😭 I cried so much during that scene and yes!!! Like him, Anning gave her all to the very end… I’m so glad that the show devoted the episode to her - she deserved a proper send off!
I knew LMX couldn’t just leave us like that! We need him around to tell DZY about Wenshuo and Hanye’s other sacrifices for her!

What a twist! Turned out that LMX was not that dumb and Hanye was even smarter to figure out that it was Anning who asked LMX to protect DZY. But there was a good reason why LMX couldn't reveal that to save his life.

Of course there was yet another twist - LMX and Hanye combined executed the perfect plan to get Anning's body back.

😭 Anning - we saw her at her finest during her intro and her exit...

Mobei was smart - we can tell that he knows how to mess with someone's head and heart.

Urgh, the Emperor's paranoia! That guy has to go!

Highlights
- we got to see Anning, DZY and LinLang kick ass - I love female characters who can fight.
- Hanye continues to impress as the Crown Prince, and Gong Jun continues to impress with his acting skills. Reba and him are so good with their facial expressions...😍
- Wen Shuo and Yuanqin ❤️ While I don't totally ship them , at least there was one happy couple

In the end, it is Hanye who is the ultimate mastermind, planning all the moves and my heart breaks for him because DZY has no idea about his sacrifices...😭😭😭

The show just wants to cause us angst - imagine what a happy ending it would be if LMX stayed cold and calculative, ultimately him and Anning fighting in Qingnan City, and Hanye and DZY fighting together in Junxian City....and them uniting ultimately....
Of course that would be too easy of an ending lol...we need to shed more tears first....

Honestly I had higher hopes for MB....now our foursome will be no more because of him...😭

Exactly, the show did a 180 degree switch on us about this couple...I really thought that even though MB ultimately wants victory for Northern Jin, he also truly loved AnNing and they would somehow how make it out together.... Argh, hearthbreaking!
